Laser hair removal when pregnant

Common Questions and Answers about Laser hair removal when pregnant

laser

Avatar f tn I'm 13 weeks & I've been wanting to get laser hair removal for my bikini area & have read that it is safe to do. I'm going to ask my doctor just to make sure but was wondering if anyone else has had it done?
Avatar f tn The reasoning is because there are no studies done to show the effects laser hair removal has on the baby. Since there are no studies, we don't know if it is okay or not so most companies (ones that care about your well being) would refuse treatments.
Avatar n tn even my hubbie, he has never said anything to me about it but when we are getting it on I have to be very carfeul not to let him touch my face.. So enough is enough I am ready for laser hair removal. Does anyone know how much it might cost to have this done and how often do you have to go in for the "treatment"?
Avatar f tn Hi I'm 25 years old, 6 weeks pregnant and was wondering of getting hair removal via laser on my upper lip. Is that harmful?
486679 tn?1234579529 They will not perform any laser treatments while your pregnant. I had my first laser hair removal treatment before I found out about being pregnant. I asked my sister in law who is an estitition who was giving me my treatments. Her company will not do it and it's not recomended. I did a lot of research on the subject also. They just don't have enough information on what could happen.
1121273 tn?1325371575 Feel free to add to this list...these were just a few things from today that made me giggle: - You shake a bottle of salad dressing and think your boobs might explode because of the pain - You try to hide your gagging in public, and from the pressure of gagging, you pee your pants - Your entire face and everything surrounding it break out so bad that even your damn earlobes have pimples! And I'm not AT ALL complaining! =) I'm actually THRILLED!
Avatar f tn If you really are seeking for a long-term or permanent process, you could always look into laser removal. Just be careful because there is always the chance of something going wrong. My cousin used to shave her arms until the hair on top became super thick and she just wanted to get rid of it. She went in for laser surgery and they burned her skin - now she has a horrible white scar on the top of her arm.
Avatar n tn I really wish their was a way to remove this excess hair without waxing, or shaving. Possibly, a hair removal treatment that isn't too costly. When someone comes up with a great idea on how to remove it, be certain to let me know.
743543 tn?1268766823 I went through laser hair removal about two years ago and my under arm hair has decided to grow back this pregnancy. I really hope it's not permanant and will stop again when I have my little angel. Unwanted hair is a pain but really nothing you can do but shave wax pluck to get rid of it.
Avatar n tn Also used Oil of Wild Oregano, Tea Tree Oil and EmuAID Max Cream – all helped to clear the starter pimple boils, but they did not stop new ones appearing. I have since had 2 underarm laser hair removal sessions as shaving causes many starter pimple boils to appear the day after shaving.
334776 tn?1249972181 I noticed that when I was pregnant I my hair grew extremely fast. Usually I have to shave my legs only like once every two or three weeks when I was pregnant i had to shave once a week! Everywhere else though I shaved every other day! I am so glad i'm getting laser hair removal my SIL (who does it for a living) gave me gift cert for birthday to get it done then I found out I was pregnant. but now I am able to get it done since I had the m/c last month.
Avatar n tn Not sure if it is safe during pregnancy, but I highly recommend laser hair removal if you can afford it. It hurts while they're doing it, but the results are wonderful. You can have as much or as little off as you like - anywhere. As for right now, I'd just use a razor the morning of your appt.
Avatar m tn I will say this, I had not had any pain for three days other than the pain when I would urinate. But after the stent removal, I am having some dull pain in my right flank. I believe this to be normal. I am passing blood clots again in my urine, but that is to be expected. Let me put it this way, I HATE pain. I am a medical student. I had the surgery done Thursday morning and was back in class Friday morning. Im just ready for all of it to be over so I can move on and get back to normal.
Avatar f tn I was told that once the hair folical is activated, it does not go away. I would have to get laser hair removal done. I hope that this helps you. Good luck!
Avatar n tn The surgeon tried to do it thru the camera in my belly button but wasnt able to and had to cut me along my bikini line to remove them.
Avatar n tn I am a bit worried that i could have some sort of disease or somthing wrong inside my body? I have read that laser hair removal could help, it's soo expensive, and I have so many areas to treat. I wish that someone would do some reasearch and find out whats going on, im just glad im not alone though. Lastly if anyone has a sucsses storey, please tell.
Avatar n tn If you normally excercise, know that you wont be able to do what you did before the OR for a while start slow and work your way up without expecation as to when you should be normal again. With the hormonal change it may take longer as you could feel more tired and emotional than what you are use to. If you have pain don't suffer, take something for it. Make sure that you are eating healthy high fibre to keep you regular and it will help with your peirods as well.
Avatar n tn i started getting facial hair and stomach hair lots of arm hair. when i was 11 or 12 around puberty when my daily headaches started. i too have a problem with acne especially on the side of my face and forhead that i never before had. my periods have always been irregualar even on bc pills. so far ortho evra has been doing well.
Avatar n tn I believe it must have happened when they first shaved my face (standard procedure for laser hair removal)- yet the shaving opened all the little acne bumps and must have allowed it to spread. Someone mentioned diabetes and menstral cycle problems. I have very irregular periods and have been diagnosed with " PCOS " (a pre-diabetic stage). I know my facial hair is rooted to this problem, yet I do not know how to fix it.
Avatar f tn but for the past few months I've had this sharp pain in my clitoris, that gets worse when I rub it or it rubs on clothes, etc...a few months ago I noticed a hair growing into the clit, like at the very top, under the hood. I'm 99 percent sure that is the cause of my distress..I'm sick of peopole saying you can't grow a hair there...you can..I've read a few people on the internet who had the same problem as me, just less pain.
8071871 tn?1398904296 Laser hair removal. Ive had 3 treatments and totally hair free. You cant get laser whilst pregnant. But I planned to get mine done before we started TTC. Money well spent.
613870 tn?1221108560 I had laser hair removal a bunch of times... The hard core permanent stuff... It didn't work.. They say PCOS causes resistance therefore laser treatment doesn't work so well...
Avatar n tn I want to get it covered up with another tattoo. I tried laser removal, and it seriously hurts more than childbirth so i never went back. i have been reading articles whether or not it was safe to get a tattoo while pregnant and i'm confused. Although there is no medical proof that getting a tattoo while pregnant is dangerous to the fetus, some articles say yes, others say no. What do you guys think?
162948 tn?1205256292 I called my doc and they said that it takes 3 months before the hormones are out of your system. The mirena website makes it sound as though you can get pregnant anytime after removal. Any advice/stories would be appreciated. Thanks.
485259 tn?1519050626 It's been almost 2 weeks since my laproscopic surgery, I have learned alot both from experiencing it and talking to ya'll here on the forum. Time to share, because just maybe somebody is about to go through the same thing and has questions or needs help. It would be great if everyone added their two cents and we will have a nice "what to expect when your expecting laproscopic surgery" list...lol 1. Don't be fooled, this is major surgery. You could be having body parts removed.
Avatar n tn ) *It is one thing to gain maybe 5 lbs. or to gain weight when pregnant. I have been pregnant before and understand weight gain comes with this. LOL HOWEVER, my concern is mainly the emotional / mental side effects after stopping yasmin, as well as excessive weight gain after stopping. (while not pregnant) Has anyone either Experienced these side effects after stopping yasmin OR known of anyone who has or know anything about these effects.
Avatar m tn ) Like so many others on here I suffered from migraines (during puberty and when I was pregnant with my now 14 month old son). I also have anxiety and clench my teeth. I had never heard of TMJ until I read this forum but I have known for a while that there was a problem with my jaw as it constantly clicks and on occasion gets locked. I can't believe there are others with the same issue and yet noone has had a proper dianosis. I will let you all know how I go tomorrow.
Avatar n tn Have you looked into laser hair removal?? It works well for a lot of people. You could also try tweezing, it takes a long time, but it does pretty good.
384150 tn?1399908416 Hi Lisa, My salon cancelled/post poned ALL my treatments when I was pregnant. I had a course of microderabrasions and skin peels and was also having regular botox. I was just about to embark on a course of laser hair removal (bikini) and that was cancelled too!!! I have been back since loosing the baby and asked to resume but they have said NO as I am stil trying!!!
1123156 tn?1338866969 ConnieG - if you plan on getting pregnant you might want to postpone your laser hair removal. I had done 2 years ago. It all grew back when I got pregnant. It's very common for the hormones to cause this. I am very lucky to have a SIL who is an estitician working at a place that does all that. I already told her if I get stretch marks I will be in for laser treatments.
