Avatar m tn I had a stent for 1 week after my 1st stone was removed. Since the removal of the stent, I have had waves of severe back pain similar to the initial pain I had when I discovered the stone. I heard the ureter can spasm as it heals and this blocks the urine flow in the kidney causing the pain. How long should this last? What is the best way of managing the pain?
162948 tn?1205256292 I had the mirena in for about 13 months & had it removed end of august to try to get pregnant. I had thought it was more immediate. I found out it can take 3-6 months for your cycle to return. my husband and I are pretty bummed because we would have removed it earlier (or never had it put in). Anyway, I bled a few days after removal (probably due to the removal) & then nothing until a couple days of brown spotting at the beginning of this month.
Avatar m tn Amy Schefler, MD, from Retina Consultants of Houston, who is clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Texas, said that she has not seen any injuries with the blue laser, but has seen similar injuries from the YAG laser used for hair removal. She agrees with Dr. Arevalo that it's tough to regulate Internet sales. "I'm no expert in government regulation of Internet purchases, but it's obviously challenging," Dr. Schefler said.
Avatar n tn My daughter is now 6 months old, she was born with a congentital nevus on her nose close to her eye. Its approx 3/4" in length and is raised up. She also has some smaller ones on the end of her nose. We consulted a dermatologist, who said we will watch it closely and doesn't think it is a mole but rather a birthmark more so as it is Epidermal. he said we may want to have it removed for cosmetic reasons and at this time he doesn't know whether it could potentially be cancerous.
Avatar n tn On my first visit there I had a consultation with a lady that does the laser treatments in the spa. I informed her that I was currently using the Yag laser for hair removal somewhere else, and was looking for something that would keep me hair free longer than a month, so I would not have to get a laser treatment every single month.
Avatar f tn they did a biopsy shortly after i did this post, and nothing specific came back. i've had it treated w/ medication (pills and topical) and also laser and it'll seem to look a little better for a few days but then i'm almost to square 1. it just will not seem to heal. just today they decided to do a second biopsy, because they also find it odd and worrisome. they did diagnose me with rosacea b/c in general i am very pink with capillaries close to the skin.
Avatar m tn i also found useful removing any light around the mirror so i can't see the pores. 2 - for my legs, i did the laser for permanent hair reduction. i am still doing the treatment so i still have some hair. however, because the treatment costs a few thousand dollars and if i pull my hair again it will make my hair growth back, i don't pull my legs' hair anymore. however, now i became obsessed with my split ends: i cut them with a scissor and i can't stop for hours. today i hide the scissor...

Avatar f tn I then went and got Laser Hair removal done on my lower legs and since its been done I haven'rt had a single itch. The girl doing the laser treatment said my hair was growing back at an odd angle every time I shaved and it was causing the irritation and I made it worse by scratching. Avatar f tn I am undergoing surgery for the removal of axillary breast tissue under my right arm. The surgery is scheduled for 20 Aug 07. I was briefed throughly that the casuses could be hereditary, due to lactating, etc. I noticed mine shortly after nursing my youngest child (23 months) and it has been bothersome ever since. I have gone to the doctor so many times and they always tell me maybe it is my lympnodes or cancer.. I had a breast ultrasound done and there is no trace of cancer.
472570 tn?1274689487 In an effort to get some sleep, I zipped my matress in vinyl mattress cover and placed petroleum jell all around it to stop them from crawling up onto the bed with me, well in doing so, I found two little dots on the bed, a little bigger than the specks I had been catching and put these in a zip lock bag with alcohol and when I placed it under the miscroscope I noticed the same kind of insect, this time it was like a rolled up bunch of hair, only it was not hair and it was the same insect co

Avatar n tn His team has also had a lot of success with endoscopic and laser surgery. You can send all of your stuff to him for evaluation before having to make the trip. I've seen some spectacular cases he's operated on. One guy had no discs in his neck, just one long rod! You only have one neck and that connects to your back which makes up your whole spine..... make the right decision when it comes to who you let cut it open. Another great site is GPN, Global Patient Network.
Avatar n tn My lower abdomen still has swelling - definately much softer, though. It was so tight that my hair folicles could be seen - they looked like big pores. Sorry, for being so descriptive, but figure somebody might want for comparison. The brusing is just light yellow, now. No pain except when I push on it. It had hurt so bad, even when I sneezed or coughed. All that is gone - last at least 48 hours this time. How many shots did you receive in each area? We're you nauseated at all?
Avatar f tn I read this on the Internet and it works for a few hours at a time for me, I use my hair dryer blowing hot air on then bites. Be careful not to burn yourself but it has relieved the itch for hours at a time.
Avatar n tn It is a non-surgical fat removal procedure. The substances used in lipo-dissolve are standardized, although providers may use slightly different proportions of the two primary ingredients, which are phosphatidylcholine (PC) and deoxcycholate (DC). This procedure is only available through a physicians care with a treatment program. (Lipotropics) Three amino acids that are essential for the health of your liver.
Avatar n tn Viagra helped when it came on the market. Retrogressive ejaculation followed in 2001; it may be as a result of damage done during removal of kidney-stone although doctors seem to disagree on this. Found blood when masturbating (but none in urine) earlier this year. Saw doctor and had pta test done. It was normal. I went though hell while waiting on result. I was almost sure I has cancer. The condition cleared up. It has now recurred and there seems to be more blood than the first time.
Avatar f tn The surgery itself was removal of the skin and fat. The procedure was not painful and it was done with local Anesthesia. The beauty of this procedure is that the dr can also remove any excess skin from the vaginal lips. I am extremely happy with the results. I feel all your pain. Just know that we don't have to live like this. Praise God for cosmetic surgeries!
Avatar n tn I found the source of my pain...the posterior hardware (pedicle screws and rods). Surgical removal (09/07) of the hardware released that Lumbar triangle of pain. I still have some hip and knee pain which is a result of L4 and L3 bulging in reaction to the hardware and associated muscle tightness, but hope that over time it resolves itself. I took a risk, my Neurosurgeon gave me a 50/50 chance that my condition would improve or remain the same.
298579 tn?1192250448 Yet another woman here, relieved to find she's not alone. I've had the same symptoms since age 33, and I'm 53 now. Mine started when I had a botched laser cone biopsy of my cervix which left my cervix a mass of scar tissue. I always assumed that my pain had something to do with my screwed up cervix. My symptoms were so weird that I never mentioned them to my doctor. I've done a bunch of Google searches but never got the right one to get any information.
Avatar n tn I am not having knocking and crunching but I am still having a lot of stiffness and pain (especially when it is cold and rainy). Luckily I am in Texas and the weather is usually HOT. What do you think about your progress? I am getting a little discouraged because I am still needing pain medication twice daily and before my physical therapy appt three days/wk. I know everyone says it can take a year to recover...but the thought of having this terrible stiffness with pain is a bummer.

Avatar n tn I'm not sure if it's prescription or what, but after reading about it on wiki, it sounded like it had potential, since they said it goes down into the pores/hair follicles of your skin to kill bacteria. I put the Azelaic Acid (it's a cream) around the skin on my eyes and you could feel it working. At first, it burns a little bit. The interesting thing is that - any place you have red bumps - it's almost like you can feel it going down into the skin after them.
Avatar n tn Has any one ever heard of Dr. David F. Jimenez in San Antonio, Texas who is head of the Nuerosurgery Dept for Adult/Pediatrics? He is scheduled to do my decompression? Any information is greatly needed.
Avatar n tn Can't wait till he's done. Do smells bother any of you -- like car fumes, hair sprays, perfumes? I'm just wondering.
