Avatar n tn We are contemplating getting laser hair removal. We heard that getting laser done close to an opening on the body like navel, vagina, etc. there is a possibility of infertility. Is it true ?
Avatar m tn I am not a doctor but I am really hoping to get some responses regarding potential eye damage when being treated with the Palomar Starlux laser for hair removal. I will try to keep this short. Today I was being treated with this Laser and was wearing goggles to protect my eye. The opthamologist assisted was lasering an area on my stomach. She asked me a question about what area I wanted to have treated.
Avatar n tn I have made an appointment to get laser treatments on my legs, stomach, chest, arms, armpits, upper back, and face. The thin hairs are barely visible in most of these areas, but I do not even like 'peach fuzz' so I have decided to get rid of it. I had a few concerns I hope you can answer: 1. My doctor is insisting that sessions for all areas are done once a month. I have read that the lower body should be spaced out 6-8 weeks, but he says it is fine.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately over the past few years I paid quite a lot of money for laser hair removal (which is supposed to be permanent! ) but since getting pregnant I'm back to shaving every 2nd day :( not happy with my hormones!
328799 tn?1276569332 When I was a teenager, I started growing hair on my stomach and today it's a damn mess. I'm in my late 20s and am growing hair on my chest and chin for god's sake. I did electrolosys and laser treatments and am part of the low percentage WHERE IT DOESN'T WORK. Hair on your stomach does not indicate necessarily a hormone problem. More women suffer from this EMBARRASSING problem than you'd think. Shaving sufficed in the beginning but now, i get ingrown hairs and .. .yeah..yuck.
Avatar n tn Hi Everyone, I have this same problem nipple hair and ingrown hairs. I am currently getting laser hair removal on my stomach and areolas. Even typing this alone in my apartment makes me feel nervous and unfeminine. So far the treatment (I've had about 5 treaments) seems to be working, especially for my stomach. Around the areola is slower but it is coming in less and less. The cost: about $800 but they do financing at some places. I go to Sleek Med Spa.
Avatar f tn Any advice will help.
Avatar n tn I myself was considering laser hair removal recently but have researched the topic on the web and have finally decided that it is too risky to invest in laser treatment. Considering that many men undergo electrolysis treatment, I don't believe any amount of excess hair can be "too abundant for electrolysis". I would recommend Olivia to visit the site of the American Electrology Association at http://www.electrology.com/ .
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm 19 too. Ever since 3rd grade I've had dark hairy arms, lots of leg hair, some stomach hair, unibrow, upper lip hair. In 9th grade my mom took me to get my upper lip waxed, and I immediately felt a huge relief. I didn't have to constantly smile to distract people from the hair there, and I could wear lipgloss without drawing attention to my lips!
Avatar f tn Hello, One of the best methods for hair removal is waxing, but it is a bit painful on the stomach. However, the best method of painless hair removal is by laser treatment. I would advise you to consult a dermatologist/cosmetologist and discuss this option with him. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.

Avatar n tn A mild corticosteroid cream like dermacort will also help. Also you can go in for laser hair removal which causes permanent reduction of hair and does not cause folliculitis also. Please consult a good cosmetologist/dermatologist for that. 606433 tn?1220243537 The decision rights to get permanent hair removal surgery or not is completely on you. However I'll suggest you to get it to remove all the wanted hair permanently. There are few methods to permanent remove unwanted hair. According to www.hairremovaltips.org, permanent hair removal can be divided to 3 method, which is electrolysis, laser and latest painless radio frequency wave.
Avatar n tn I currently use hair removal creme but find it irritating that after using the hair removal on my stomach it still feels prickly, like it doesn't quite get all the way down to the root. This is sooo frustrating as I'm terrified my new boyfriend will at some point run his hands over my stomach and feel the hairs or prickles!! I don't know what caused this and I am unsure if perhaps waxing would be better?..
Avatar f tn can i get rid of dose hair completely through laser hair removal in my stomach n chest line..... is it worth going 4 dat...
Avatar f tn All of my symptoms are under control EXCEPT excessive hair growth on my face (I have peachfuzz + black hair on my face) It is getting worse by the day. I am to the point of having to shave. I am a woman. this is not supposed to happen. I also have hair thinning, and my hair is regressing. I am beyond frustrated. I am so embarresed by this point I don't even want to go out in the daytime because It is more obvious in the sun.
Avatar n tn ) Still, you need to check with your pediatrician about whether there is any hormonal imbalance to explain the hair. Assuming you find that there's nothing wrong, you may want to consider laser hair removal. This is quite a safe procedure, even for a child. It would very likly help thin the hair and make your daughter more comfortable. The hair loss might not be permanent, but if it gives her a few years' respite, that's OK too.

Avatar n tn However when I tried to pop one thinking it may have been an ingrown hair it did nothing but bleed very rich blood from the bump. All in all I've counted 8 on my lower stomach area and 5 on my penis. Just to give you some background on my habits, I have only had sex with 2 women in the last 10 years, the most recent was a few months ago, two times and unprotected.
Avatar f tn my mom does not have a single hair on her body... She doesnt understand why I want laser hair treatment or why i wont wear a swim suit anymore :( Since I have light skin and dark hair, shaving doesnt help. I can still see the black hair under my skin, PLUS it is only smooth for a couple hours (like you mentioned). Also, it causes me to get razor burn and ingrown hairs (I've tried every product and razor out there, doesnt help).
334776 tn?1249972181 Everywhere else though I shaved every other day! I am so glad i'm getting laser hair removal my SIL (who does it for a living) gave me gift cert for birthday to get it done then I found out I was pregnant. but now I am able to get it done since I had the m/c last month. I had one treatment so far on my underarms and the hair hasn't grown back but bikini area i've had two treatments and it's still there but thinner and some smooth spots.
Avatar m tn I went to the ER on 4/24/2011 was admitted and had surgery for removal on 4/25/2011. Stent was placed and removed on 4/28/2011. 2 hours later I was back in the ER where the doctor told me everything looked good. CT, Xrays, Blood work.... Back in the ER 4/29/2011 and looked at like I am crazy because Xrays, Urinalysis, blood work all came back normal. They mentioned Spasms, and that they saw swelling in the CT scans... However today is 5/2/2011 and I am still having the pain....
Avatar n tn Can you tell me the results of your one ovary removal surgery? Have you had recurrence of endometrioma? Are you on oral contraceptives?
4330487 tn?1352908549 I'm sorry I'm not qualified to give you a range of credible alternatives. But what does come to mind is laser hair removal. Those with light skin and dark hair are the best candidates for laser hair removal. I have PCOS, too, but I am the opposite...almost hairless. But, in the ways many women would like permanent hair removal, I do too. But since I have very fair skin and blond hair, I'm not a candidate for laser hair removal. Although expensive, that would be a permanent solution.
Avatar n tn I now get small ingrowing hairs on the inside of my thighs, small ones on my legs, my stomach, under my arms, on my bum and occasionaly on my back.
Avatar n tn I've been on the HCG injections for two months, and just within the last month I've noticed faster (and darker) hair growth on my upper lip AND also on my lower stomach. I have had laser hair removal on my lower stomach and now the hair is back as dark as it was after like the 2nd of 5 treatments. So something is doing it and nothing else has changed. Good luck!
Avatar n tn Yes, I too expected to have a total Hysterectomy & removal of ovaries & Endometriosis by Laparascopic surgery. Well, that did occur but I knew that after my surgery that something was very wrong. My Sigmoid Colon had been ruptured. I was hugely distended & kept questioning this to no avail. I even suggersted that I had Peritonitis, but was told to think happy thoughts! Finally, day 5 in the hospital I felt my bowel really "Go" whilst on the toilet.
Avatar n tn It first started about 6 years ago with hairs on my chest coming in thick and dark ( at which time i was not overweight). It then went to my hair on my stomach, lke i have the trail. Next i noticed a couple hairs on my chin and tried waxing which now i have a lot and shave a lot. I tried lazer on my chest, it didnt do anything. Rescently right before i got pregnant i started hair on my neck and also started electrolisis, then i got pregnant and had to stop it.
Avatar n tn I believe it must have happened when they first shaved my face (standard procedure for laser hair removal)- yet the shaving opened all the little acne bumps and must have allowed it to spread. Someone mentioned diabetes and menstral cycle problems. I have very irregular periods and have been diagnosed with " PCOS " (a pre-diabetic stage). I know my facial hair is rooted to this problem, yet I do not know how to fix it.
Avatar f tn so i would highly reccomend you get ur testosterone levels checked, instead of payin all this money on laser hair removal because its likely that the hair might come back. and i had the same problem about the vaginal odor and discharge, you have to make sure u wash down there everyday with a mild soap, and if ur discharge has a smell to it and is a colour other than white, it could be an infection, so i would get that checked out too.
