Avatar n tn Hi, I have been really itchy in my inner thigh area recently, especially after i sweat. sometimes i will itch a little to hard. the area also no longer grows hair since after my laser HPV removal surgery. Its slippery and raw like. However, at the bottom, there are some small bumps and a small looking cut on the other side. What is the difference between a bump and a blister? The last time I had sex was about three months ago. Could this be herpes?
Avatar m tn If shaving continues to cause you problems, consider alternatives such as waxing or chemical hair removal or even laser removal. if things do not improve please see a professional health care provider.
Avatar n tn Can you get herpes - type 1 from laser hair equipment when you are doing full laser hair removal in your vagina area?
Avatar m tn If you normally get rashes from shaving, consider a different hair removal method. You can have laser hair removal done in a few sessions to take care of most of the hair in the genital area where you don't want it ( like sticking out of your panties so that you look like grandma....he he he ). You can then trim the rest of your pubic hair low instead of shaving it to prevent rashes and ingrown hairs.
Avatar n tn I am a bit worried that i could have some sort of disease or somthing wrong inside my body? I have read that laser hair removal could help, it's soo expensive, and I have so many areas to treat. Avatar n tn Hairs will grow for awhile and then fall out on their own and grow back (that is why your pubic hair and body hair does not grow beyond a certain length). A new hair can become ingrown just like a shaved hair can, although it happens less frequently.
Avatar f tn I did notice one small red dot beside my buttcrack (but I had shaved the area and gotten laser hair removal recently) that did not itch or blister or scab or hurt but once I noticed it the area felt sort of tingly.
Avatar n tn consider a different hair removal method like waxing, laser hair removal or even just keeping the hair short with a body hair trimmer. also tons of info online about better tlc with shaving pubic hair too.
Avatar f tn My husband believes that this was a loose hair that got trapped but I noticed a follicle at the end of the strand, which leads me to believe that the hair actually grew up there. I am thankful that removal was pain free, but am dreading another occurrence.
Avatar n tn You might want to try a different way of hair removal too. waxing might be better for you or even consider laser hair removal. You can also just trim hair shorter with a body hair trimmer instead of taking it all off. There are also many post bikini area shaving products out there too. The skin in the genital area is very sensitive and needs treated with extra tlc!!!!
Avatar f tn All this being said, I recently began getting lasar hair removal and one day I didn't see the nurse properly clean the wand in front of me. I know that getting herpes from an inanimate object is nearly impossible but there are NO studies that can definitively say it's impossible. Please note, MOST of my burning and yeast symptoms happened shortly after I had sex with my new partner...but as I said, he tested NEGATIVE for HSV-2 but POSTIVE for HSV-1.
Avatar m tn Thanks Dr, Let me simplify the whole story now that I made the girl get tested for HSV I and II( IgG). Her numeric values are HSV I (IgG) + 3.183 index (pos = > 1.0) , HSV II (IgG) + 1.998 index (pos = > 1.0) We had sex on Nov 1st, and she told me she had laser hair removal in the down area a day before.
Avatar f tn A little back story... I receive laser hair removal treatments for my Brazilian area.. the area between my legs - the crease where my panty line is - is sometimes difficult to treat. I replaced my razor and tried to shave very close there, as my hair was prickly. I know when I shaved, I irritated the area. The next day (this past Thursday) my boyfriend (we've been monogamous since May) gave me a Christmas gift early, a new vibrator.
Avatar n tn Hi, I started brazilian (everything gone) laser hair removal. about 2 weeks after the first treatment a, what i believe is a pimple, formed on my buttocks where i just received treatment. Over the course of 2 more weeks it keept getting bigger and then it looked like it was affecting the surrounding hair folicules. I had about 5 of these bumps in the area of about a nickel.
Avatar m tn If you do continue to shave, look for post shaving products to try to give the sensitive genital skin some extra tlc. Other hair removal options too like waxing and laser hair removal to consider too. Sounds like you either are getting a shaving rash afterwards or even a mild folliculitis. Avoid sex when you have rashes in case it's triggering shedding of herpes just to err on the side of caution. as far as pregnancy, your hsv1 genitally isn't an issue until delivery.

Avatar m tn Hi, Can you elaborate on the blister? Folliculitis usually presents with a pimple like lesion caused by an inflamed or infected hair follicle. This usually resolves on its own and has a tendency to recur. Topical antibiotic and warm compresses may help. However, have this evaluated further for proper management and to rule out other causes such as boils, herpes or other skin conditions. Direct clinical examination is important to determine the underlying cause.
Avatar n tn Its an annoying problem, but I have solved it w/ laser treatment. Yes, yes. Laser (permanent hair removal) treatment is rather expensive, but money means nothing compared to the feeling i get when i can finally wear a string bikini (instead of boy shorts) to the beach!

Avatar f tn Also you can go in for laser hair removal which causes permanent reduction of hair and does not cause folliculitis also. Please consult a good cosmetologist/dermatologist for that. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
