Avatar n tn I need cataract surgery in my right eye (the left one is not as far along but getting bad enough that I don't have a good eye any more). I am trying to do my own research and I like the idea of the Crystalens. I don't mind wearing glasses if I have to, but I would like to have some range of focus. Currently I don't do well at intermediate distances even with progressive bifocals. Can I have Crystalens in one eye? Or will this cause aniseikonia or other problems?
Avatar n tn If they are cosmetically displeasing or prone to bleeding, angiomas may be removed by surgery, freezing (cryotherapy ), burning (electrosurgery/cautery), or laser. Let us know if you need any other information. Regards.
Avatar f tn but I also know that at age 24 I walked in for my first eye exam with no floaters. The next day, this stringy black mass appeared in my left eye ... extending pretty much from the top of my peripheral vision to the bottom. At the time, I connected it more to the eye doctor making some mistake and not the eye exam so I stopped going there. Several years later (and no new floaters), I found another eye doctor and had another eye exam and the next day a long string appeared in my right eye ...
Avatar n tn I know the Dr. said YAG on my left eye to his assistant while doing that eye. My cataract was most severe that eye.
Avatar n tn Discomfort from gas between shoulders, nothing bad just did not expect that. Waiting for the surgery was worse then the surgery...Best of luck to you!

Avatar m tn I am a 37 year old male whom had a surgery about 2 years ago, I went and did a cataract surgery on my right eye which I had a cataract right in the middle of my cornea.. After these 2 years, I had been very careful taking care of my eye in terms of getting enough sleep and having foods that are able to help my eye sight. Recently, I had a strange feeling in my right eye where sometimes I feel a little bit weird with my sight. I feel that the original feeling I had when I had cataract is back.
Avatar m tn Dave Worthem surveyed retina surgeons let their patients go back to running after RD surgery. I would tell a person generally after barrage laser that sit ups, low impact aerobics, weight lifting, etc are okay. Avoid severe knocking about (carnival and amusement rides), yoga standing on your head meditation, etc.
Avatar m tn After a laser treatment a scab is formed, which falls off about seven days later, in contrast to surgery, where the wound has to be sutured. For surgery, many dermatologic and plastic surgeons first use a freezing solution, usually liquid nitrogen, on a raised mole and then shave it away with a scalpel. If the surgeon opts for the shaving method, he or she usually also cauterizes the stump. Because a circle is difficult to close with stitches, the incision is usually elliptical or eye-shaped.
Avatar n tn I can defenetly tell something weird is going on with my skin. The 2 under my eye are smaller then the one on my cheek.
Avatar n tn //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entoptic_phenomenon Laser can make the eye more sensitive plus people start paying more attention to the eye. The other thing that is common is a bright or dark spot projected into the field of vision 180 degrees away from where the last was done. This is due to the cauterizing of the retina by the laser. over time for most people it fades and goes away.
Avatar f tn She had an ICL implanted because she had cataract surgery in the other eye, and found having one eye at 20/20 and the other at -12.0 diopters was too great a disparity to function. I never chose this surgery as I didn't have a problem with soft contacts, and there are some risks associated with the implant such as excess endothelial cell growth in the cornea, increased intraocular pressure, among others.
Avatar n tn I have a nephew who is 13 years old diagnosed with Drusen in April- pictures show crystals-losing peripheral vision in his left eye RAPIDLY-has some in right but not as much. I am sick because there is nothing anywhere about children having this?.- we have an appt in Boston the end of June for him, we are from upstate NY.
Avatar m tn The fact that you say you needed to do some laser surgery makes me more frightened. I have good vision right now an I should choose the IOL only if it make my condition better not worse.
Avatar f tn All text and objects are clear in color and focus, just as they should be. I had gone to the eye doctor 2 months ago, because I have been experiencing the halo/haze more frequently within the past 6-8 months. The doctor seemed to have given me a very extensive eye exam, because of my concerns of the halo/haze. I have cataract as well as glaucoma the runs in my family in my Mothers Father and my Father's Father.
Avatar m tn It seems very strange that any doctor would ever recommend lens exchange in someone so young with such low myopia if there were no other reason, especially to a monofocal lens (which it sounds like is what you have if you need such strong monovision correction). Usually they'd recommend laser surgery, or worst case a secondary lens implant while keeping your natural lens.
Avatar m tn I wore multifocal contacts in both eyes, Acuvue and then Air Optix until age 49 when the problem cataract appeared in one eye, and then kept a multifocal contact in my good eye (single vision in the cataract eye) until age 52 and surgery, and I had no trouble with contrast sensitivity for using the computer with default fonts (24" monitors at perhaps 26", 1920X1200), or smarphones.
Avatar n tn Just a swollen eye. He did a few tests and decided I didn't need surgery and released me. He said to make sure to not blow my nose or even use a straw. No pressure on the nose/eye area at all. He also said generally if you don't have blurred vision at the time of the incident, then you most likely won't get the symptom later. Anyway about 3-4 days later I wake up and I can't feel the right side of my face. Pretty scary feeling.
Avatar n tn There is a feeling of tightness also on the muscle under and corner of the right side of the right eye. From the beginning itself I had floaters in the eye, astigmatism (2 eyes have different power). If I press on certain spots (nodes) behind my neck (Skull meets neck), I can feel the pain. Never smoked or had any exposure to drugs. I try to do some neck exercises etc. I had been to neurologist and done CT scan, MRI of the brain and neck etc. All came normal.
765048 tn?1234589050 All my light sensativity issues are related to medical conditions and side efects of intense laser surgery. If you are light sensative you may be developing mild dry eye ( you would know if severe ). Also eye fatigue seems to make the light issue worse for me. I would discuss this with your eye doc.
Avatar m tn Sounds really weird but I dont have a clue what it could be related too. If I had to discribe the feeling, imagin someone holding a pin to your eye and slowing moving it forward, your reaction would be to look away, thats the best I can discribe it. Hope you can help.
Avatar n tn Incidently, my eyes have improved hugely over the last 24 hours after the use of some eye drops... I'm thinking it might have been blepharitis as the eye drops I used were supposed to heal it. Thanks again. Alex.
Avatar m tn They don't know much about it, there is no treatment, it is rare (but perhaps many people aren't being diagnosed right), lots of floaters in the affected eye are common. I actually have it in both eyes but didn't notice the blind spot in my left eye, but it is active in my right. Have any of you ever had a mfERG this would diagnose if this is actually a retina or optic nerve problem? Ask your opthalmologist about it. I was misdiagnosed with optic neuritis for 9 months.
Avatar n tn I also started having headaches, tingling on the left side of my face and major eye twitching then pain behind my left eye. I have also had shingles at least once maybe twice (a few have said that one episode didn't seem typical of shingles). Nonetheless, the one time I am certain it was over my left eye. So, as of now, I was told that this all may be the shingles virus or another type of virus reacting and living in the nerves in my jaw, ear, etc. (MRI, CT, etc. all showed nothing).
Avatar n tn Did your ENT recommend surgery for the severe deviated septum? I had sinus surgery in 2003 and only have had 2 sinus infections since. You may want to talk to your physician about septoplasty surgery and ask him if that would help. Also, before I had the surgery I used J's Nose Drops (available online) and that got rid of all of my sinus infections. There is also another product called "Bi Yan Pian" that works. It is also available online and very cheap.
Avatar n tn i am not sure about what the dots are, but i do suggest you be very careful with the cortaid. hydrocortisone can cause eye damage if it gets in the eye because it is a steroid. though i doubt it would happen, getting hydrocortisone in your eyes may cause blindness. so, please tell him to be careful!
Avatar n tn i am having the same pain in my neck and it goes to my eye and into my shoulder . vision is blurry in right eye and i have 20/20 vision .
