We thought of taking 2nd opinion and every single renowned neurologist in India said that there is no need of this laser operation. So we refrained from this operation. Do you think there is any possibility of pinching of nerve causing all this problem.
Avatar m tn After a look , he told me I had pressure in my left eye. My left eye vision was very good--better than my right eye. With my consent he immediatly applied laser treatment a few times. One of the laser shots made me cringe backwards from the pain I felt. The catract operation on my right eye, the weaker eye, was successful, and my vision improved. However the vision in my left eye became weaker with foglike obstraction.
Avatar n tn and the right eye had some critical problems so she had an operation in her right eye in Singapore last year...even after that operation she is having problems in that eye...and there is non-stop headache ......and the eye remains dirty even after washing it thoroughly .............She is using optical glasses for her normal eye power....What do u thing what should we do now?should we go to Singapore again or is there any solution that u can give...
Avatar m tn Apparently the hypotony from the operation has resulted in folds in choroid. The doctor put a contact lense on my left eye but it has not helped to increase the pressure. The pressure in my left eye varies between 4 - 7. At this point I can not see out of the left eye... everything is blurry. I have no sense of depth, my balance is very bad, and I have double vision. Also My doctor wants to do surgery again... he wants to put a stitch back in the left eye.
Avatar f tn However, for the past few weeks, she has been getting what she describes as a flash at the bottom of that eye,it lasts for less than a second, and it only happens in very dim light, mostly when she wakens through the night. She sometime gets about 3-4 a short time apart, but never gets it through the day when obviously the light is much brighter.Again, she sometimes goes for a few days without the flashes before they come back again.
Avatar f tn I have done a operation 2 wks ago and has laser the last time i went back to see doc on Monday. But I still see watery curve on my left eye. If I lie down straight, the watery curve will be horizontal. Can someone tell me if I am recovering or I still need to go for operation to place in oil/gas?
Avatar f tn my partner was diagnosed with high pressure in both eyes four years ago. He has had laser surgery to put small holes in his eyes to relieve the pressures, however since nov 07 his drs have changed his medication virtually every month as his pressures are increasing-now at 38! He is 40 yrs old and obviously very concerned. he has been on travatan timolol, xalatan to name just a few but they have now put him back on xalacom.
Avatar n tn I know of one centre in Mumbai where nystagmus treatment is done........Utsav Eye Clinic in Kharghar Navi Mumbai or you could look for a centre nearby. Hope that helps.
Avatar m tn before the operation, the nurse did the eye pressure check using a "pen" like device. I have done this test before, although you can feel the pen, it doesn't feel any pressure. But this time I did feel some "pressure" on the eye ball, it doesn't hurt though. After that, she gave me some dilation drops, and my eye feels hurt and burned. I have had eye dilation many times, this is the only time I feel the burn.
Avatar m tn I have an operculated hole in retina in my right eye and I need to go for a cataract operation on my right eye. Is it safe to for the operation?
Avatar f tn Please can you tell me if reading glasses will be the solution to my reading difficulty or do I need to do an operation on my right eye (which has a mild cataract) and bring the vision to minus 2.5 too. I am scared of another cataract operation as I had a lot of problems with the first one on the left eye including swelling at the back and developing a secondary membrane and needing Yag Laser for it. I had the Yag Laser on the left eye a week ago.
Avatar f tn This is all thru one eye only. My over eye has been fine. The medication has not worked and my eye does not seem to like a low dosage of eye drops either. As soon as the doctors try and reduce them, my eye becomes imflammed once again, causing pain in my eye and head. The latest consultant which i have been seeing has tried YAG laser capsulotomy. The Hole which they seem to make closed up within weeks off it being opened.
Avatar m tn m really embarrassed to ask so much questions, but there has been another change in my vision, and that is in my good eye, ok, not so good, because it has lattice degeneration and small atrophic holes that wew sealed with laser.
Avatar n tn About 9 years ago, I had an eye operation to remove glaucoma in both eyes. The doctor put in lens and I was extremely satisfied with the result. I recently had another visit with the doctor and he told me I had scar tissue in both eyes from the earlier operation. He suggested using laser to remove the scar tissue in my left eye first. After a month, the vision in my left eye was somewhat blurred. I went back to him and he told me the scar tissue "flap" didn't fall down as planned.
Avatar f tn I have recently had a cataract implant and the vitreous floaters are so large that my eyesight is affected. In the sun or near a light in the house I cannot see out of that eye properly. This puts a lot of strain on my other eye. My Retinal specialist spoke of possible holes happening in the eye after a vitrectomy to take out these floaters. Are holes common after a vitrectomy and are they affected by your age when the operation is performed?
Avatar m tn I would probably recommend grid laser and possibly PRP for the right eye. And possibly grid laser for the left eye. Grid laser is done near the macula outside of the foveal avascular zone with much lower energy and spot size...goal is to seal off the leaky blood vessels. Whereas the goal for PRP is larger energy and spot size its job is to "kill" off the irregular cells "telling" the blood vessels to make more, irregular blood vessels (neovascularization).
Avatar m tn Recently i went for routine check-up of my eyes and i was diagnosed with lattice in retina of my right eye, thus my doctor advised me LASER operation to fix it. I want to know whether sitting long hours (10-12 hrs a day) in front of computer screen be harmful for my retina My profession requires me to sit long hours in front of computer screen thus putting my eyes under stress.Do i need to consider changing my profession after the surgery for betterment of my eyes?
Avatar n tn So my question is, I had catract surgery in my right eye and it was amazing, now I have been having problems with my left eye its to the point all I can see is shadows, I put it off for a number of reasons caring for my mother then insurance reasons now I fear its to late, is it?
Avatar f tn I'm a 56-year-old woman with about -12.5 in each eye. A few years ago I was advised against lens replacement surgery because of the risk of retinal detachment. I've now been told that they may go ahead as the new all-laser operation causes less trauma to the eye and lowers the risk of RD. I'm waiting to have an appt with the surgeon and will discuss it further. I'd be interested in any other views on this development.
Avatar n tn Is the Capsulotomy dangerous? I understand the capsule is shrink wrapped to the eye in the laser process. Can't this damage the inside of the eye, retina or vessels?
Avatar n tn clock) and some detaching as a result of being hit in the eye. 4 days later he received a session of laser around the tear. The following day a retina specialist did another session of laser around the entire retina. My husband was still for 2 weeks and the laser stopped the detaching. However, a thin black area remained in his vision at the bottom of his eye, resulting from the retinal tear.
