Avatar f tn So it is better to do laser treatment. But I'm sure whether the growth will come back after laser treatment since the change is hormonal. So you please consult with your doc and discuss about this. Other wise there are no chances for laser to fail. I have done laser treatment in Fairview clinic, Toronto.
Avatar f tn I have a 40 year old friend with similar coloring (pretty fair complexion and curly, dark thick hair). She had one laser hair removal treatment at the same spa which has resulted in the same defined dark discoloration on the upper lip after sun exposure. I have read if the incorrect setting or laser type is used for a patient's skin tone and hair type it can cause hyperpigmentation. I think this is supposed to be a temporary side effect; not long lasting.
Avatar n tn I had great skin until I turned 21, at which time I developed severe cystic acne. I was on Accutane when it first came out, I've been to tons of dermatologists over the yrs, I've had steroid injections into the cysts, I've had surgery to try to "de-bulk" them - you name it, I've done it. So here I am, 32 yrs later, & I still have deep, hard, scar-filled cysts under the skin on my face - that are still actively cranking out nasty gunk on a daily basis. I have a huge one (about 1.
Avatar n tn Should your acne return talk to your doctor about using a different oral or topical anti-biotic. Laser treatments can treat acne, scarring and pigmentation. Advances in technology mean they can treat most skin colors and types. They will give you a skin analysis and consultation before carrying out any procedure. They will also do a test patch to ensure laser treatment is right for you. After care and recommended products will also be available.
280418 tn?1306329510 Although my skin is nearly clear, I've also recently started taking a supplement called Acneticin, I've read many things on the internet and this is suppose to be a great internal treatment for acne. I am finally starting to feel comfortable in my own skin again! Hope this helps you or anyone else who's having similar problems.
948349 tn?1294383837 LoL I typed that up too fast but now I reread it... I meant to say VITAMIN D is the cure for acne!!! Vitamin D DEFICIENCY is the cause of acne.
Avatar m tn If the symptoms persist then with the help of the doctor, the treatment of oral antibiotics, contraceptive pills, retinoids, cortisone injections, chemical peels and laser treatment can be your choices. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn I have had acne since I was 12; I am 22 with a clean diet, have played collegiate sports my entire life. - topical lotion/creams fail, tried amoxicillin and tetracycline - with failed results. I also am prescribed ADD medication; which I was ensured there would be not contradictions. Wednesday I was prescribed Minocycline 100 mg BID [morning & night]. I started this prescription Wednesday night. Thursday, I took my dose, ate breakfast, went to work.
Avatar f tn In that case we can resort to medical treatment like azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep us posted on how you are doing.
363243 tn?1331037450 I use tend skin after shaving, proactive repairing lotion daily and a sentive skin facial moisturizer, and get laser treatment about every 3 months. The laser works wonder on ingrown hairs. The Proactive repairing lotion also helps reduce them. My self esteem is shot, not only because of the hirsutism, but other things too, like the fact that I can not naturally reproduce due to losing my tubes.
Avatar m tn Apply hydroquinone cream on this scar and it should go away in a few days to months. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion. Also take some vit B12 supplements and avoid lip licking. Also apply a good lip balm and sunscreens with spf 30 atleast half an hour before going out in sun. If still the symptoms do not improve then pls get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist.Bacterial and fungal infections have to be ruled out.
Avatar f tn I'll give you a diagnosis right now. It's RINGWORM. I had the same exact thing for 8-9 months before I realized what it was. Cleared up after just 4 days of over the counter clotrimazole 1% cream.Turns out I also have tinea corporis with the typical rings that were really really faint in color so i didn't recognize it. I'd been really itchy all over my torso since about the time these painful boils started popping up over my face. The funny thing is that the boils didn't really itch.
Avatar n tn ------------------------------------ So far have held off on any oral antibiotics and IPL or laser treatment. Still looking into lasers. ------------------------------------------ As far as triggers are concerned -- they seem to be sun, heat, hot coffee, alcohol, simple carbohydrates, strenuous exercise, stress and getting sick as in a bad cold. I've more or less avoid sun and heat but the rest have bothered me at times.
Avatar n tn My daughter has acne much worse then I ever did and it takes all my willpower not to pop hers. The treatment is not as effective for her yet. We will be continuing with the Dermatologist until we find something that works for her. They are talking BCP to help with the hormonal part of it and possibley acutane in the near future. She has had huge "cysts" in her ear that drain for days, she has huge cysts on her face that drain 3 or 4 times full of pus/blood.
Avatar n tn Not to mention the main ingredient is corn starch so that would be like making vaginal gravy, not to sexually appealing either. Any ideas, I vaguely remember hearing about vaginal laser surgery?
Avatar f tn - Regular and intensive lotions - Eucerin anti-itch calming lotion - Aloe Vera sunburn treatment (I thought the aloe or lidocaine in it might stop the itch) - Benedryl (just in case it was an allergy to something in my shaving creams) - OTC Hydrocortisone cream Nothing works to stop the itch after it has begun. Pretty much all I can do is scratch and hope the itch ends before I scratch down to blood. It is agonizing and keeps me up at night.
Avatar n tn I am constantly sick and have breast tenderness though that is not as bad as it was when i started it. I dont understand this, i can see when you start the hormone treatment but to feel this way when you stop? I have taken 2 preganacy test and both were negative. I have an appointment with my dr on the 18th but it would make me feel better to know that someone else was going through this too. Does any of this make sense to anyone??
Avatar f tn Hi, I am the same way - i have acne and an overproduction of oil. I recently went on accutane and it cleared up the scalp promblem but shortly after i stopped taking the pills my face became extremely oily. I also experimented with a pill called spironolactone which seemed to supress the oil production by blocking androgen but unfortunately i stopped that too becasue it was giving me heart palpatations...... (sigh)..... i'm looking into a more holistic approach now. Best.
Avatar n tn I had one laser treatment but it was a freebie and did nothing (SmartXide Dot laser) I've done all this for well over a year and NOTHING has improved. I look like a 40-year-old with an 80-year-old's arms. I live in Canada, so have more opportunity to cover my arms than someone living in Florida and cover them I do. I am embarrassed by them. I feel shocked when I look in the mirror. So ladies, I empathize fully. If I find a solution, I will post for you all.
Avatar n tn The ONLY times it has completely cleared was when I would get a cortizone injection in my bad shoulder as well as the one time I was put on a Prednisone treatment for an eye infection. That's it. I live with it. But I would like to know if anyone has an idea as to what brings it on in the first place. Why, out of the blue, does it appear? I have no allergies nor exposures past or present to chemicals or the like. Any ideas? Any treatments that work? Thanks!
Avatar f tn One of the problems with using TSH as a diagnostic and a basis for treatment is that, by nature, TSH does fluctuate. It can fluctuate as much as 70% within a day depending only on what time of day the blood was drawn. Any nuymber of other factors also influence TSH, making it a very lame tool. So, right now, do you have of the other "classic" symptoms of hypo...weight gain, cold intolerane, fatigue and/or drowsiness, brain fog?
Avatar n tn never continued...) I hear that yaz is suppose to help with acne.... Well, I never really had a problem with acne, besides maybe a blemish or two right before the start of my period... but when I started taking Yaz, I broke out. I also spotted the whole time I was on it. I wish you luck... everyone is so different.
Avatar n tn the face, neck, armpit, breast, groin, and buttocks are common sites.....then it goes on to treatment with cloth. doesn't mention any serious outcomes like surgery. Thankyou for your information also because now I think i will phone my doctor and ask her if its serious enough for surgery, or just a big pimple?
Avatar m tn It gently pumps the saline solution into your sinuses, and I don’t know if it pumps saline all the way up into the far reaches of your sinuses, because of gravity, but it follows the same line of treatment expressed here. Neilmed Sinus Rinses squirt saline into the maxillary and ethmoid sinuses. It does not work for infections in the upper sinuses, says so right on the box. It only costs $13 at any local pharmacy. There is also a neti pot, which was demonstrated by Dr.
Avatar f tn I would love it if you could name some tests or treatment for this. They also thought that this could be psychological pain. Is this possible to have such severe scalp pain and it be in my head? I will be going to a pain clinic next month or the Mayo Clinic. I wanted to ask you of your opinion on the eating disorder, seb derm and more specifically the hair highlights. I appreciate anything you can do to help me!
Avatar n tn he said this would reduce the puffiness within a week. I followed this treatment for 3-4 days and my eyelids went better, but not 100%. I still felt some dryness (it's like letting egg white dry on the sking...) What has made me feel REALLY BETTER is this: 1. Use a "beauty mist" or a 'face spa' - you can buy it from any cosmetics department (for about $40-50). Add 2 camomile tea bags in the water and keep your face (especially your upper part) in the steam for 10-15 min.
Avatar n tn The spotting never left, my blaoting was horrible, i gained 4 lbs on it, sex drive went down, more acne, SORE breast everyday couldn't touch, and did I mention I felt like someone was stabbing my lower abdomianl stomach right on my ovaries for 4 days. I went to ER because I thought something was wrong, they did all test and said nothing was wrong go home. I have two kids my hubby had a vasectomy so I just wanted it for pain , I felt like I was on my period for 2.
Avatar n tn Nurseam, if you feel that this is consuming your life, then by all means, try the beta blocker. My comments about public speaking were meant for Buckley who is a Corporate Trainer. Buckley, if your doctor tells you it is "just" social anxiety and there is no treatment for it, I'll be surprised. It is common practice to use CBT for social anxiety and alternatively or sometimes in conjunction with CBT, a long acting benzo is something to be considered.
Avatar n tn I am definitely going to make sure that both ENT's are notified of the results so they can be a little more proactive in dealing with pt's with chronic sinusitis not responsive to traditional treatment. Please let me know if this pans out for you...It has certainly given me hope that I can finally have some peace from my chronic sinus infections.....
298579 tn?1192250448 I was diagnosed with endometriosis back in the late 90's during infertility treatment (at that time I did not have fibroids). My diagnosis of fibroids is relatively recent. So in a google search of fibroids & cramping I came across a link to a book titled 'What Your Mother Never Told You About Sex' by Hilda Hutcherson. In the google preview (I copied the link below) it specifically mentions fibroids & sex (page 308) ..... here is a quote "....
