Avatar n tn when i was 17 i had several cysts on my ovaries most of which went away, but at the age of 22 (about a year after i started getting the facial hair and acne) i had to have surgery and have an ovary removed because of a softball sized tumer on my left ovary. My docter didnt say whether or not the tumor and ovary disfunction were related to the hair growth and acne but i think it is. I think it is an inbalance in hormones.

Avatar n tn I have gotten conflicting advice from several sources about the most effective laser. Leaving healing time, pain, cost, etc. aside, just in terms of best visual result, which laser is best--(fraxil, CO2, scion, etc. etc. etc., etc.) ???? Also, forums such as this have advocated dermabrasion as the other effective option, yet I find that many dermatologists and plastic surgeons do not even do it for acne, stating it is too hard on the skin and is outdated.

Avatar m tn Obviously there is surgery, but if I do get surgery, what's the cost, how long does it take to heal, and what's the probability of having a negative outcome? Also, are there any other alternatives to reducing the appearance of a raised scar without going under the knife? Things like creams, dermabrasions, etc?
Avatar n tn 1. Would any of the acne treatments such as lotions, laser treatments (nlite, lyra, etc), or chemical peels yield any results. 2. Avatar f tn Hi there, I've been diagnosed with endometriosis when I was 19 with a laparoscopic surgery, at the time they removed the lesions that were minimal with laser . At the time I was under contraceptive pill and my only symptom ( so far that I remember ) was pain during sex. I am now 27, I live oversea I stopped the contraceptive pill few years ago as I didn't support the side effects and I have been feeling really tough PMS for about a year now.
Avatar n tn If the current cream doesn’t work, my doctor said that Laser Surgery is another option. He told me that it’s possible that I have early Rosacea. He’s also told me that younger people have a tendency to go through chemical changes, causing over-active body functions [ie. face activity and armpit activity]. He told me that it’s very possible that I will grow out of it.
Avatar n tn I had facial laser surgery a year and a half ago and since then have had cysts all over my face. I have also realized that they have long, long hairs in them and are verrrry painful. The doctor has not said anything about these being caused from the laser surgery but he is going to fix the scars next month. My face had not broken out since 1989 (accutane) before this happened.
Avatar n tn An optometrist friend of mine recommended Clindarex for MGD because Ive had bad acne breakout post surgery on my forehead. Is this a plausible option As always, thank you so much for your input. My wife and I appreciate it.
363243 tn?1331037450 This is an ongoing problem and I think the only options that will completely remove the hair is electrolysis and laser, both of which are expensive, and the laser hair removal can be tricky with dark skin. I completely understand how you feel and I'm here for you when you get frustrated. If you learn anything let me know and I'll do the same. Take care.

Avatar f tn I'll give you a diagnosis right now. It's RINGWORM. I had the same exact thing for 8-9 months before I realized what it was. Cleared up after just 4 days of over the counter clotrimazole 1% cream.Turns out I also have tinea corporis with the typical rings that were really really faint in color so i didn't recognize it. I'd been really itchy all over my torso since about the time these painful boils started popping up over my face. The funny thing is that the boils didn't really itch.
Avatar f tn The treatment for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation includes various skin creams like hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment.Apply hydroquinone cream on this scar and it should go away in a few days to months. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, Chemical peeling or microdermabrasion. Avoid picking, harsh scrubbing, and abrasive treatments unless prescribed by a dermatologist during this period. Hope it helps.
Avatar n tn My doctors suggestion was a laproscoptic surgery to remove the cyst and I asked about a hysterectomy and he agreed to do as I wished. I had my utereus removed along with the cystic ovary and the fallapian tube on that side. Upon my wish the doctor left the other ovary and tube and cervix. I was informed by him later that because the cyst ended up being an endometrioma caused by endometriosis starting that I might later have the same trouble on the other ovary.
485259 tn?1519050626 It's been almost 2 weeks since my laproscopic surgery, I have learned alot both from experiencing it and talking to ya'll here on the forum. Time to share, because just maybe somebody is about to go through the same thing and has questions or needs help. It would be great if everyone added their two cents and we will have a nice "what to expect when your expecting laproscopic surgery" 1. Don't be fooled, this is major surgery. You could be having body parts removed.
Avatar f tn Look it up. Compared to laser surgery it's very cheap. Wax your legs, use this stuff every day as directed, for however long it says. Then let the hairs grow until you can wax again. It is a hair growth inhibitor, so every time you use it, it will prevent hairs from growing. Hair grows in cycles, about 3 separate time cycles, so all in all you will need to use this about 10-15 times depending.
Avatar n tn The Affirm laser tightened and the peel did even more. It cost $450. for the laser and then $100. for the peel so it was not cheap but I feel much more comfortable showing my arms now. I was told that the tightening of the skin will continue over the next few months.
Avatar n tn They showed up what seemed overnight when i was on a cleanse diet trying to clear up my acne. I had also done a few laser treatments for my acne a few months prior. I do not know wich or if either of these is the cause of this but the white cirlces are a million times worse than any acne i have had and i am so upset at myself for trying these things to get rid of the acne.
Avatar n tn Benzoyl Peroxide is one of the top five recommended treatments for mild acne, including whiteheads and blackheads. Acne affects most teenagers to some extent, but acne does not discriminate against age, sex or race. While not a life threatening condition, acne can be upsetting and disfiguring. When severe, acne can lead to permanent scarring. Even less severe cases can lead to scarring. While acne is not curable, it is 100% treatable with Benzoyl Peroxide or is it?
