Avatar m tn hi how can i remove my acne scare with any cosmetic surgery it is possible and safe and one thing more how much is going to be cost me
Avatar n tn My question is, as I am so shortsighted, is it OK to have the Laser Cataract Surgery? I ask this because the Laser Cataract Surgery is said to be less traumatic to the eye. I wonder if Dr John C Hagan III could answer this question, as I know his son also works in his practice and he is a retinal expert? Also do you fit the New nanoflex IOL?
Avatar n tn Take a look at my pictures to see how effective microdermabrasion and laser treatment can be at treating post-acne scars. You must wait 6 months after finishing Accutane treatment before having such procedures done because of the increased risk of scarring already fragilised skin. Oral retinoids can cause facial redness and it has only been 3 months since you finished Accutane. Use a good skincare regime for facial redness such as Clinique's Redness Solutions or Rosaliac by La Roche-Posay.
Avatar m tn t think I would have gotten a better result with laser-assisted, at least not worth its cost. It was a higher out of pocket cost than for the premium toric lens which was $1333 out of pocket. With insurance, the basic surgery and basic lens costs ended up only around $350 for my part of the cost in comparison.
Avatar m tn e surgical/non surgical...wat is the cost of the surgery????plzzz reply me....and give any home remedy for closing/reducing the pores....
Avatar f tn The clinic that I plan to go to has the newer IOLs such as the Tecnis multifocals as well as surgeons offering to bring in the Symfony before next month. However, the clinic policy is that laser-assisted cataract surgery is mandatory with premium lenses and it isn't optional to have it done via the standard method. They only say "they want to provide the most accurate and best treatment possible". The cost ranges from $1495.00 per eye to $3295.
Avatar m tn Hi Do you recommend people who need cataract surgery and dont mind paying the extea cost go with laser assited cataract surgery rather then the traditional method .
Avatar f tn The femtosecond laser (cost to physician $500,000) is a fantastic new instrument. The cost disadvantage is huge as there are no studies that show that in large propsective studies it improves the final result. Studies have shown it makes a more precise incision (less likely to leak), a perfect opening in the anterior capsule (capsulorhexus), can be used to reshape the cornea to eliminate cornea astigmatism, and can fracture hard cataracts making them easier and safer to remove.
Avatar n tn http://www.about-eyes.com/laser-assisted-cataract-surgery-and-risk-of-macular-swelling/ "Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery and Risk of Macular Swelling" His skepticism matches the reports I've seen of large scale studies over the last year or so indicating that laser cataract surgery so far merely has been shown to have different complications than non-laser surgery overall (which are rare in both types), and hasn't proven its benefits overall yet for most patients.
Avatar f tn There is one private clinic that does femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery. The other one does not, but it is much more convenient. When I asked my RS about the femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, he basically said that it is the skill of the surgeon that counts in either way of doing cataract surgery. He admitted that it probably is the wave of the future.
Avatar f tn This really depends on your visual potential. I use the laser for cataract surgery in patients who want the premium IOLs. If you are getting a standard IOL the Femto (laser) adds additional cost that may not be worth it. Dr.O.
Avatar f tn Laser surgery always (or at least almost always) costs extra out of pocket. If nothing else there are usually (perhaps always) "click" fees surgeons need to pay to the vendor for each use of the laser which they are rationally going to pass on to the patient.
Avatar m tn using the femtosecond laser for incision, corneal reshaping, cataract fracture and capsulorhexis is an extra cost.

Avatar m tn Hello, I'm a male in my early 30's and I was born with a unilateral cleft lip. I've had a total of two surgeries. One when I was born and another when I was 13. The surgeons did a wonderful job with my surgeries, however, as I got older the scar began to become more noticeable. It has become more raised and defined, and my lip has become more uneven. I was wondering, as an adult, what are my options in regards to improving the appearance of the scar?
177275 tn?1511755244 In an Editorial by Esteemed ophthalmologist Randy Olson MD University of Utah Dr. Olson concludes that additional benefit to standard cataract surgery is unproven with femtosecond laser technology. This is a quote from it: "So we have Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery, this new technology that has shown steady improvement and that many support.
Avatar f tn I think your dermatologist's assessment makes sense. The face doesn't often keloid. Stopping your acne is the best way to stop getting more scars. I don't know about these horror stories, but if you consider laser surgery at all, it won't be till at least 6 months after you complete the course. Best. Dr.
Avatar m tn can u suggest me any medicine/cream to remove the acne scars...i dont want to undergo any lazer or amy plastic surgery...is there is any mean to remove acne scars through effective medicine...
Avatar m tn I don't have insurance. The cost for an examination then laser surgery to fix a small retina tear was $1500. Does anyone who has insurance know how much the insurance paid for a similar procedure? If you also don't have insurance how much did your doctor charge. $1500 seemed like an awfully high cost for a 10 minute procedure.
Avatar n tn However cystic acne needs to be treated. Cystic acne is the most severe form of acne. Cystic acne affects deeper skin tissue than the more superficial inflammation from common acne. Since they are severe, so systemic medications are usually required. The treatment consists of topical and oral antibiotics, tretinoin, oral contraceptives in females and Intralesional corticosteroid injections. Very severe cases may need excision and drainage.
Avatar m tn It can be due to environmental changes, skin trauma, overuse of steroids, acne rosacea or venous hypertension. Laser treatment is the best option for telangiectasia. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Avatar m tn That may give you some idea of what we are talking about. In Tampa, if a surgeon is using the Alcon LensX laser to do the cataract surgery, they charge from 3000 to 4000 per eye!!!! There's no doubt the public is getting ripped in this process of "multi focal" lens. Trust me, there IS a form of price fixing, ALMOST every doctor is HIGH. They see it as a great way to make a lot of money quick because quite simply, what is your alternative?
Avatar n tn hello, what is oral melanocytic macule and lentigo and do you much a laser lip surgery would cost?
