Common Questions and Answers about Laryngitis bronchitis fever

laryngitis

Avatar f tn I have had a chest, sinus cold going on four weeks now with intermittent laryngitis. I have been on a course of Levaquin 2 weeks ago and am still sick. Prior to this cold I had another cold and was on a Z pac, can't seem to get any better... Never had a fever, just productive cough raising green phlegm.. Should I be working about my immune system at this point?
Avatar f tn One ounce of Magnesium Chloride flakes (Pharmaceutical grade) per one liter of spring water, sipped very slowly throughout the entire day. Repeat for 3-4 days. Your symptoms indicate a viral or bacterial infection and are consistent with bronchiestasis. If it is viral, no medicine can help, once the virus has replicated. If bacterial, amoxicillin is the antibiotic of choice for bronchiectasis. You may want to consider Breathing Exercises for Bronchiectasis.
Avatar n tn There are several things this can be. The first is bronchitis or pneumonia. Your doctor can tell you what is going on for sure and get you the proper treatment. Take care.
Avatar n tn It is usually not the drug of choice for UTI but is mostly used in otitis media (infection of the middle ear), tonsillitis, laryngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, and sinusitis. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
1472764 tn?1287588186 I am almost 7 weeks prego (thur) I am really sick with cough, low fever & now have laryngitis. I went to 2 different Dr's & am told I can't take ANYTHING. I am drinking tea with honey & wishing/hoping that will do the trick. Make sure whatever you take is approved by your Dr.
Avatar m tn Is this from the Acid Reflux or from the Bronchitis. Is it Bronchitis (or Laryngitis) that comes up for me periodically or is it the Reflux? I've not been smoking for several months now, but I did have a few cigarettes this past week, and I also had a few beers. Finally, I had some Sushi tonight as well. Any suggestions?

Avatar n tn After about a month, I went to see my PCP which told me I had bronchitis and laryngitis. She put me on Amoxicilian, Claritin, tessalon pearl (for the cough) and albuterol inhaler. After finishing all my antibiotic, continuing claritin, tessalon pearl (as needed) and inhaler, I started to feel better. Once again, the cough is back, runny nose, and no voice. Will I EVER talk again? Have I done too much damage to recover from this? And why do I continue to get sick? PLEASE HELP!
Avatar n tn Over the next few days I began to lose my voice and had problems swallowing but did not have fever, body aches etc. Nor did I feel sick although I sounded horrible. I wnet to a Doctor before getting on my return flight and he said he thought I had laryngitis likely caused by a viral infection. Therefore, he did not prescribe antibiotics. It has been about 9 days since the sexual encounter and I am wondering what my risk factors are.
Avatar m tn Hi, welcome to the forum, there may be acute bronchitis with or without laryngitis. Acute bronchitis usually presents with sputum (mucus), coughing and can also present with wheezing esp. when the small bronchioles are involved. Associated gastro esophageal reflex disease can worsen the condition. You need to send the mucus or throat swab for culture, microscopy, staining to rule out the pathogen.
3120463 tn?1342056817 It started out as a scratchy/sore throat, then turned into me almost losing my voice (laryngitis), then back to a sore throat, and now it's a hacking cough with mucus in my throat and a little sinus congestion. Would you recommend I see a doctor? It's showing no signs of letting up and I am unable to hear out of my left ear from the congestion.
Avatar m tn 4 weeks and 2 days after sex, I am developing a fever. My throat is somewhat sore, but I have been having a lot of chills and a lot of night sweat. I am in a foreign country and I will be here for two more weeks. I told my partner to get tested since if she tests negative for HIV, then I surely do not have it. I am very anxious right now and I do not know what to do.

Avatar f tn How high is the fever? A high fever is not good. A mild fever is probably not so bad. You can take Tylenol to lower your fever and then call the after hour nurse line to be sure.
Avatar f tn Now I have post nasal drip and my laryngitis is still there although getting better. I have done everything for the laryngitis, steam, cool mist humidifier, room temperature water (about twelve 8oz glasses a day), resting my voice. It is getting better very slowly. Now I have a post nasal drip and I am coughing up greenish/yellowish sputum but it's from the back of my throat not my lungs anymore. I am going to try a nasal rinse today.

778528 tn?1253813350 I have had pain in my thyroid area for a week now. It got worse, I developed a fever, had chills then I was so overheated and couldn't cool down at all. The next day, I went to the doctor and he put me on an antibiotic for a sinus infection. He said my nasal passages looked a little inflamed. I have been on the2,000 mg. of amoxicillin antibiotic for 4 days now and am not better. I tossed and turned and moaned all night long last night. I was miserable.
Avatar m tn I had a unprotected sex about 3 and half weeks back with an unknown Girl for about 5 mins. Next day I got mouth infection ( just soar throat no fever no flu symptoms) and doctor (ENT) suggested some antibiotics, after which I was feeling OK in a day. I thought it was a strep and asked for a swab test. Couple days later doctor confirmed its nothing. I had tonsillitis (swollen tonsils) before I had sex with her.
Avatar f tn My Siamese cat normally meows. Yesterday we could barely hear him, like he has laryngitis. What's wrong with him?
442628 tn?1204892851 Hi, bronchitis leads to pleuritis (inflammation of pleural membrane which covers lungs) as a result pain is felt in coastal areas and in ribs. Are you having cough too? It is most of the time possible for doctor to diagnose pneumonia by auscaltating the chest which i am sure your doctor must have done it. Fever associated with chills is seen in viral bronchitis. What antibiotics are you having, if any? Still if you are apprehensive, please get the chest X ray done.
Avatar m tn Sounds like maybe some mild bronchitis. If you spike a fever (>100.3F) go see a dr. Green mucus It can be an indication of a bacterial infection. Especially if the green nasal mucus is accompanied by fever and pain and it has been experienced for several days. A bacterial infection under those circumstances should be treated by a physician who would probably recommend an antibiotic. Otherwise the infection could linger on for days or weeks.
Avatar m tn 3 days later laryngitis is getting better but now I got a small fever. My usual daily temperature is between 97.9 and 98.6 (with average being 98.2-98.4) On the 13th day my temperature is somewhere between 99.2 and 99.8 for about 3 hours since I woke up. Here are my questions: 1. what are my risks for the following: a. HIV b. Syphilis c. Herpes d. Chlamydia e. Gonorrhea f. HPV 2. Can my sore throat be an indicator of any of the above? 3.
Avatar n tn 5 fever. My joint are in agony and I am experiencing blade like stabs of pain through my chest. Should I worry?
556467 tn?1225377691 Last year I was constantly getting upper respiratory infections, laryngitis, bronchitis and pneumonia. There was a period of 6 months that I was constantly on antibiotics and steroids. My ENT did allergy testing (normal), CT scan of nasal cavity (normal) and several scopes to look at my vocal cords which were inflamed. Finally he told me that he felt that I needed to have my Lingual Tonsils removed.
