Avatar n tn Burning sensation in the neck and upper chest raises the suspicion of gastric reflux or GERD. The regurgitation of acid in the oesophagus and throat can cause burning pain in upper chest and neck and hoarse voice. Plaese make sure you eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly and eat your dinner 2 hrs before bedtime. A mild OTC antacid before meals will also help you. At the same time pain due to heart attack should also be excluded. Do you have any shortness of breath?

Avatar f tn Okay, since 1992 I have had lots of throat infections in 1995 I had my tonsils and adanoids removed to help however it never did. And still had aleast 7 throat infections and laryngitis a year but since January this year I have had 20suvere throat infections all with laryngitis.
Avatar f tn I keep losing my voice and I have seen an ENT (vocal chords red and swollen) and asthma doctor. Concluded that I have asthma but very mild put on Symbicort. This has happened about 9 times since last July. Last anywhere from 3-4 weeks. This time I have been fighting it for 4 weeks.
Avatar n tn However, a side effect of both medications is laryngitis. I recently had laryngitis for 6 weeks. It started as a virus and would not go a way. I decided it was my atrovent neb (an anticholinergic like Spiriva). My allergist thought it was my Dulera (inhaled combination med like Advair). I eliminated the atrovent and reduced my Dulera and the laryngitis healed. She needs to discus any changes in dosage with her doctor before making changes.

Avatar f tn However, mitral valve prolapse is common and most people who have it never develop severe regurgitation. Mild regurgitation is considered medically insignificant. Mitral valve regurgitation may result from damage to the tissue cords that anchor the flaps of the mitral valve to the heart wall. Over time, these cords may stretch or suddenly tear, especially in people with mitral valve prolapse.
Avatar n tn Minimal or mild and trivial valve regurgitation is a normal variant or finding on an echocardiogram and should not be concerned over.
Avatar f tn Woke up feeling really sick sore throat and my ears are hurting and i can hardly breathe through my nose.
Avatar n tn I need your help to understand my laryngitis problem and to get it cured. I have been suffering from laryngitis for over 3 months and taking medication for the last 2 months. When I consulted a doctor a couple of weeks ago, he did a stroboscopy and said that it could be due to acid reflux; he prescribed "Pantadoc". I took that for a couple of weeks and did not obsserve any difference.
Avatar f tn However I have been sick a few times since then and every time the virus turns straight into terrible laryngitis. Before the surgery I very rarely ever got laryngitis but now it comes on so easily and lasts for a while. Is there any reason that this would be connected to my thyroid surgery? Wondering if this is still part of the healing process or not? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!
Avatar f tn Very interesting poll. While I dont have POTS (or I don't think I do), I do have ANS problems associated With Orthostatic Intolerance and both Trace Mitral and Mild Tricuspid valve regurgitation, as well as malignant pvc's and Non-Ischemic Cardiomyopathy. Before I had my HUTT, the dr mentioned POTS since I was having Tachycardia also and quite a few other symptoms of POTS.
Avatar n tn Acute pharyngitis and laryngitis is the commonest cause of loss of voice due to infection and inflammation of the voice box and throat. This active infection, coughing, and clearing throat can often result in break in small blood vessels. Usually these heal with treatment of laryngitis which involves antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic drugs along with maybe decongestants, warm saline gargles and throat elixirs.
1090601 tn?1257512779 I was Told that i have tumor on my gland as well.. and I just woke up with nose voice.. is that normal ?
875426 tn?1325528416 I wonder if anyone has any info on if tachycardia can cause regurgitation and whether if this is the case, if the regurgitation is likely to progress if the tachycardia remains unchecked. The cardiologist I went to last ordered the echocardiogram and other tests. He didn't bother to tell me with my follow up about my mild regurgitation in two valves... I found out because someone at his office mailed me the results, so I don't feel comfortable asking him about it.
Avatar n tn I wnet to a Doctor before getting on my return flight and he said he thought I had laryngitis likely caused by a viral infection. Therefore, he did not prescribe antibiotics. It has been about 9 days since the sexual encounter and I am wondering what my risk factors are. Could the oral sex have exposed me to an STD taht would cause a sore throat and laryngitis? If so, which STD would be most likely?
Avatar n tn I have developed a chronic dry cough & laryngitis, currently I have been dealing with symptoms for a month. I went thru same illness 5months ago was in the hospital & then passed around to various specialists without any real answers. I have done allergy testing, tests to rule out relfux, seen ENT, pulmonlogist, & family dr multiple times with not much success. No one can tell me why I got better last time, or why I am dealing with the same situation again.
Avatar n tn My son developed laryngitis about 2 months ago. It is severe so that he can not talk at all. His ENT diagnosed it as Muscular dysphonia. He is seeing a speech therapist, but it doesn't seem to be getting any better. He plays Sax in the band at school and can't get enough air out to play. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn Hello, There are many conditions which can cause difficulty in speaking at higher pitches. Voice misuse and overuse are common causes. Acute laryngitis caused by allergies, viral infection, chronic laryngitis and laryngoesophageal reflux all can cause hoarseness and voice difficulties. Rare but serious causes producing these symptoms are vocal cord paralysis and vocal cord tumours. Please see your Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor) for an evaluation.
739242 tn?1234217827 I got the report back for my echocardiogram, in the mail. On the front, my doctor wrote "All normal - great news!" But then, when I looked at the report itself, there were several abnormal findings. They were: Left Atrium: Left atrial size is mildly dilated. Mitral Valve: The mitral valve appears normal. Trace mitral valve regurgitation. Tricuspid Valve: THe tricuspid valve appears normal. Trace tricuspid valve regurgitation. Pulmonic Valve: The pulmonic valves appears normal.
Avatar m tn Sob and fatigue can result from moderate to severe valve regurgitation...the conditions would be due to a reduction of blood/oxygen with each heartbeat and whether or not, and how well the system compensates. I have moderate to severe mitral valve regurgitation, and I don't have any symptoms with everyday activities and moderate exercise at the fitness center.
Avatar m tn Mitral prolapse indicates the elongation and mild mitral regurgitation indicates there is some blood that backflows. Usually considered of no medical significance and does not progress.
