Avatar f tn Okay, since 1992 I have had lots of throat infections in 1995 I had my tonsils and adanoids removed to help however it never did. And still had aleast 7 throat infections and laryngitis a year but since January this year I have had 20suvere throat infections all with laryngitis.
Avatar f tn I keep losing my voice and I have seen an ENT (vocal chords red and swollen) and asthma doctor. Concluded that I have asthma but very mild put on Symbicort. This has happened about 9 times since last July. Last anywhere from 3-4 weeks. This time I have been fighting it for 4 weeks.
Avatar n tn However, a side effect of both medications is laryngitis. I recently had laryngitis for 6 weeks. It started as a virus and would not go a way. I decided it was my atrovent neb (an anticholinergic like Spiriva). My allergist thought it was my Dulera (inhaled combination med like Advair). I eliminated the atrovent and reduced my Dulera and the laryngitis healed. She needs to discus any changes in dosage with her doctor before making changes.
Avatar m tn my fiancee is suffering from earache and it is repeating frequently and he says, when he is in office due to airconditioning it becomes more and sometimes due to talking in mobile , im worried about it bcz it is happening frequently now and sometimes fluid also flows frm his ears . plz suggest me how to control it .
Avatar f tn s not hot obviously and pour it in your ear and then put a cotten ball to catch what comes out. I went to the emergency for an earache one time and the lady told me I could have just taken some ibeprofin & put a little bit of warm olive oil in my ear until I was able to get to the doctor. But since you're pregnant that's why I said tylenol cause you can't take ibeprofin when you're pregnant.
4259918 tn?1351848942 I have also has earache and sore throat, cough, many have where I live in CA theres almost an epidemic..the waiting rooms are full especially children .I think its environmental allergies caused by the spraying they are doing .
Avatar f tn Is this still going on? I'd call your doctor. A middle ear infection can definitely be the culprit and you can have those without a fever. My kids did plenty of times. But, I also found this interesting article. https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/earache-in-the-cold_uk_5e4babf9c5b6eb8e95b2131a A doctor in the article says : "Cold temperatures and strong winds can irritate this canal, which can, in turn, cause pain.

4943237 tn?1428991095 Can anyone please help me with some suggestions of how I might be able to manage extreme earache and headaches? After trying all the usual OTC drugs plus Codeine, I've now been prescribed Oxycodone and it's done very little. I'm already on steroids for the earache as there's a worry that it's inflammation of the nerve in my ear but the pain is making me seriously miserable.
Avatar f tn There are many nerves which run under the jaw and up the side of the face and the ear, and it is these they try to avoid when removing a thyroid, as it can cause paralysis of the face. So it is very possible you are having pain due to a nerve being pushed or compressed. Good luck!
Avatar n tn m having an earache...is the toothache causing the earache or is the earache causing the toothache and what does all of this mean...when I take Advil, the pain goes away temporarily...does this mean I have an infection? Could it be wisdom teeth?
Avatar f tn Woke up feeling really sick sore throat and my ears are hurting and i can hardly breathe through my nose.
Avatar n tn I need your help to understand my laryngitis problem and to get it cured. I have been suffering from laryngitis for over 3 months and taking medication for the last 2 months. When I consulted a doctor a couple of weeks ago, he did a stroboscopy and said that it could be due to acid reflux; he prescribed "Pantadoc". I took that for a couple of weeks and did not obsserve any difference.
Avatar f tn However I have been sick a few times since then and every time the virus turns straight into terrible laryngitis. Before the surgery I very rarely ever got laryngitis but now it comes on so easily and lasts for a while. Is there any reason that this would be connected to my thyroid surgery? Wondering if this is still part of the healing process or not? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!
Avatar f tn Hi mila21, Oh boy, you're in that "fun" waiting stage between biopsy and results. It's like torture, isn't it? I hope you get good news next week. I can't imagine that a needle biopsy could cause a sore throat and earache, but I'm not a doctor. If it does have to do with the lump itself, maybe it's pressing on something that is causing the pain. You should call your doctor's office and talk to the nurse.
Avatar n tn The vertigo lasted several days and was followed by weakness that persisted a full month. I called the dentist and asked if that would have caused the vertigo and he didn't think so. Although, I have never had a case of vertigo like that before the crown. I do have an history of allergies and wondered if any of the materials used could have also triggered it. After the vertigo subsided, I continued to have pain whenever anything touched the tooth.
Avatar f tn ok first things first get check by a doc for ct/Mir for head and them for tmj for the jaw , both will cause pain I had an earache for months and not one doc new got luckily and finally I had tmj ok one more thing when you sleep cover your neck with a soft blanket always keep your neck warm, this will help....
Avatar n tn Acute pharyngitis and laryngitis is the commonest cause of loss of voice due to infection and inflammation of the voice box and throat. This active infection, coughing, and clearing throat can often result in break in small blood vessels. Usually these heal with treatment of laryngitis which involves antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic drugs along with maybe decongestants, warm saline gargles and throat elixirs.
1090601 tn?1257512779 I was Told that i have tumor on my gland as well.. and I just woke up with nose voice.. is that normal ?
Avatar n tn I wnet to a Doctor before getting on my return flight and he said he thought I had laryngitis likely caused by a viral infection. Therefore, he did not prescribe antibiotics. It has been about 9 days since the sexual encounter and I am wondering what my risk factors are. Could the oral sex have exposed me to an STD taht would cause a sore throat and laryngitis? If so, which STD would be most likely?
Avatar n tn I have developed a chronic dry cough & laryngitis, currently I have been dealing with symptoms for a month. I went thru same illness 5months ago was in the hospital & then passed around to various specialists without any real answers. I have done allergy testing, tests to rule out relfux, seen ENT, pulmonlogist, & family dr multiple times with not much success. No one can tell me why I got better last time, or why I am dealing with the same situation again.
Avatar n tn My son developed laryngitis about 2 months ago. It is severe so that he can not talk at all. His ENT diagnosed it as Muscular dysphonia. He is seeing a speech therapist, but it doesn't seem to be getting any better. He plays Sax in the band at school and can't get enough air out to play. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn Hello, There are many conditions which can cause difficulty in speaking at higher pitches. Voice misuse and overuse are common causes. Acute laryngitis caused by allergies, viral infection, chronic laryngitis and laryngoesophageal reflux all can cause hoarseness and voice difficulties. Rare but serious causes producing these symptoms are vocal cord paralysis and vocal cord tumours. Please see your Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor) for an evaluation.
Avatar f tn Had to leave work today and may have to take time off as I have no voice. My sinus issues seem to be worse and digestion, may be causing this. My ENT is doing some tests. If anyone has suggestions , pls send my way. Thank you!!
