lump

Avatar n tn i looked where it hurt and there is a hard bump/lump behind her ear on the bone part (not on the ear itself). i touched it and it hurts. it's about as big as an eraser on top of a pencil or a pea. it is not red or anything (skin color). i get very worried about these kind of things and will give her dr. a call but in the mean time i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what it may be? like i said, i am worried.
Avatar n tn Just over a week later it returned, super itchy, hot and lumpy, including lump behind the lobe. So I got to to doc, she said yea the lump behind the ear is lymp nod and fighting it off. She also told me that if it was cancer or anything bad my other lymph nods would be flared up. She gave me steroid cream and told me to use it twice a day. I did that for about 3 weeks, everything was normal and bam! Another 3 weeks later and its all back.
Avatar f tn I had bought a feather mattress topper just before Christmas and thought this might be the problem, so I got rid of it, I thought this was the solution because I hadn't had any red swollen bumps until I had one on my right ear lobe last week, so I tossed my down feather pillow. I also stopped wearing my down coat. Yesterday I woke with one on the right side on my right knee cap.
Avatar n tn For the last 2 yrs I have also been getting painful sharp pain in my right eye. Something strange is growing behind my right ear one is almost like a blister more oval, the other a little bigger and hard they feel sore if I press it. May Dr says I may be hypothyroid what really concerns me is cancer. Is there a chance I may have it or can these symptoms be normal? I appreciate your opinion.
Avatar n tn This drainage can also back up into the Eustachian tube behind the ear causing pressure to build up in the TMJ that may appear as a very slight swelling of the joint. Some doctors will think you have an allergy and will treat the "allergy" instead of the eye problem. Since your problem is re-occuring and the allergy meds aren't working very well, it might be a good idea to see the optometrist and get your eyes checked out.
Avatar n tn I don't get them anywhere besides my bikini line (and occasionally behind my ear if I sleep with earring in) and think it is more associated with shaving and confining clothes than anything. And perhaps an infection in my nostrils. I will have to keep you posted on that one.
Avatar f tn I have a nickel sized lump behind my right ear lobe that I have noticed there about three days ago. I thought is was just a really enlarged pimple or spider bite, but there was no pus or spider bite marks. Now I have noticed an enlarged rounded ridge behind the curve of my ear along with the large lump. I'm starting to get concerned and the pain increases day by day. I also have been getting tired more often and easier (this may be relevant.
Avatar n tn I found a large lump just behind and below my ear last March. I hadn't noticed it before, although looking back the earring on that ear, was pushing into the back of my neck, and I couldn't figure why. It was diagonised as a Benign Licheroid Keratoses on the Parotid Gland. My doctor said it was a slow growing tumor, and because of the size 1inch across) and position, he had to schedule a long surgery, to avoid all the nerves in the face.
Avatar n tn Just returned from the er for treatment of yet another abcess on my scalp-I have been getting these on and off for the past four months-cause unknown-and primarily behind my ear lobe and along my hair line. The first two I had treated required them to be lanced opened with some drainage but a hardness as well. Was prescribed Keflex and Bactrum which does seem to be effective over time.
436191 tn?1256649906 Feels like a cord is tugging me from behind my ear (skull) down the neck and into shoulder/clavicle. Not sure if that accident is to blame. Had issues before that but 1 month post accident I felt something "tear/burn" in the neck and things got much wose. No bladder problems. Chronic constipation and history of ulcerative colitis which has been inactive. No swelling... do have muscle pain in areas near kidney (qudradus lumborum/psoas etc).
Avatar f tn I have a pea sized lump behind my ear and a large cyst-like bump on my left cheek. A visit to the PA at the ENT clinic said it was not an ear infection but could not tell me what it is. I'm discouraged. My endo just started me on Methimazole 5 mg. to cool the thyroid a little in anticipation of surgery. Could this be a reaction to the Methimazole? I called the endo's office and he has gone to a symposium and hasn't returned my call from last week. I have gone off my Vit.
288415 tn?1231634102 Av, its horrible. Mine has been going on for three years. The only benefit is that I do not hear my husband's snoring. I lay down and they immediately clog. I did used to get really nasty smelling crud out of them every morning. I have had times when my jaw is so sore, or my ear, or below my ear. This has been such a pain in "the ear" for me. Richt now the itchiness is truly driving me nuts.
Avatar f tn Hi there. In June my 5 year old had a pea sized lump behind her ear but at the time she was having seizures due to a new Epilepsy diagnosis so it was brushed under the carpet and the lump eventually disappeared. In September My 5 year old had a blood test in hospital in September where her Lymphocytes were quite low 0.65 - they said likely to be caused by a virus.
Avatar m tn jpg I'm having palpitations, hardness sensation in heart, bones sticking out of chest and lump in chest, pain in left side of chest, pain in kidney, and more. I went to Mission Hospital but they refused to treat me telling my heart is fine (despite having hooked me up to ecg for like 20 minutes while I was crying). I'm 19 and weight 130 lb, I use medicaid and live in NC.
Avatar m tn I think i feel a second on the right about one inch below my ear lobe and one inch back. it seems to be attached to a muscle so i can distinguish if it is a stiff muscle with a knot or a lymph node. I guess pushing on it does not help. I worry myself sick. I keep going back to my doctor and he keeps saying its no big deal. totally disregarded the enlarged node in the groin. This is making things hard for me. all i do is feel for lumps. i barely sleep at all.
Avatar n tn Just this past week I had a new experience with a helicopter like sound in my head behind my left ear. A few nights later it went to the right ear but nothing since then. Heart palpataions several times in the last year. Went on Crestar 10 mg 2 years ago and got that issue under control. I am otherwise the picture of health as I eat right and work out. I am 52 but feel much younger. Untill I read what I just wrote. Geez....Had a CT scan last year that showed a blockage of .
Avatar n tn She now wants me to get it examined by an ear, nose and throat doctor. Shed said it's a lump and that it is quite large and I don't have it on the other side of the back of my neck.... so she just wants an ENT doctor to take a look at it. I wasn't even that nervous about her asking me to go to see him, because I generally feel well.
Avatar f tn My mother had angina of the throat and chest after my brother died. I think she was prescribed Valium at the time. If you have a nodule that is large it can cause this (like mine), or a goiter. I would ask/demand if you have to that another ultrasound be done on your neck..if you can't find a good/willing endocrinologist, then maybe a good ear, nose, and throat specialist can help find the problem.
497349 tn?1209799851 All they did is adjust the atlas at the top of your spine so the only place they mess with is on your neck behind your ear. Even if you cant have it done its always nice to try and find out. I just want to tell everybody about this because of how much it helped me, to this day I am still not taking any medication and I finally feel like myself again, I actually feel good so I am going back to school in January to get my 4 yr degree.
168348 tn?1379360675 '06 and of course that was bc of ruptured petrusion and had another bone spur removed in my jaw around my ear), behind knees I suffer emmensly, and my Neuro. has found this venous angioma in my head(kind of creepy since I have my own disc and have seen it and it looks like a miniture snake in there...ohh) I am at my wits end...really have energy...can't slow down ...don't sleep but 2-4 hrs. a day..I think it would have to be hypo...instead of hyper...I don't know..
Avatar n tn in case someone sees it who knows more about throat issues but didn't open your question because they assumed it was a click in your ear. Might not make any difference--but you never know! Best of luck, Nancy T.
Avatar n tn I read your story with interest. As a child I suffered from chronic ear infections and underwent 4 surgeries. As an adult, I've suffered from chronic sinusitis for several years. In 2004 I had my right maxillary sinus cleaned out only after I insisted. I am an RN and yes my x-rays were "fine" but my symptoms were not. I had severe pain and pressure into my teeth along with mild dizzyness, and severe post-nasal drip. After that surgery, the pain in my right maxillary was eliminated...
940391 tn?1255758976 At this point they are too small to do a biopsy on, but they have found a large mass in my neck. I guess I will take it one step at a time and have the mass removed, they will know if it is cancerous or not and then I will have a better idea of whether or not the nodules in my lungs are metastatic. I actually think to sit and wait the 2 months to have a new scan is just gutt rentching, the anxiety! When do they plan to do another scan on you?
Avatar n tn It has been over 5 months and the dissection is only down to 20% with a clot still behind the blockage, as of the CTA last week. I am on aspirin now, thank goodness. As far as exercise, before this happened I was an A league soccer player and competitive ballroom dancer. Taking it easy is not in my lifestyle, especially with two teenage daughters. Unfortunately since this happened I have been unable to continue playing soccer or dancing. Currently I live my life around this pain.
393685 tn?1425816122 Did a google on my condition and saw MedHelp. I do have issues with parathyroids. Had Follicular Adenoma in left lobe, removed May 07 Hurthle cell Adenoma with changes in right lobe, removed Dec 07. I have Hashimoto's even though I had my thyroid removed totally. I am happy to be alive though, and that's the main thing.
Avatar m tn Had persistent ear infections until age 2 and then tubes. Produces lots of wax. Regular headaches. Cardiac workup due to chest pains and benign arrythmias Breathing issues with running As a baby: Myoclonic jerk---looks just like a seizure...EEG was normal. Feeding issues, gagging Never slept Reflux Poor muscle tone diagnosed in grade school. IEP in grade school due to speech issues and inattention 8th grade bad grades his final quarter as Depression has finally set in!
Avatar n tn I have been to many doctors and of course the dont know what it is, I have done many studies and have realized it is anxiets, and what is happening in most cases is that the anxiety is causing the muscles in your forehead and muscles around your ear and inner ear to tense up giving you the sinus pressure and the dizzyness and equilibrium problems, try seeing a doctor for anxiety it might work, its been working for me.
Avatar n tn Hello everyone, after suffering for nearly 2 years with a mysterious neurological-like condition, I have almost given up all hope of living a normal life again. After a whole lot of research on the net, I have run into several postings with people describing my condition almost down to the exact letter. However, many of these posts are on some obscure website with the postings being months or years old.
Avatar n tn I have a panic and anxiety disorder. I get all kings of head feelings..pressure, ear plugs, ringing, constant buzz, balance, no headaches though..but feel like in the clouds. I've been doing very well until the last couple of weeks and it all hit again. This time dizzy and vertigo. My doctor says I don't need a MRI but I asked for one anyways. Had it done today - with the panic attack. I shook like a wet dog and twitched, sweated, palpatations, got very dizzy.
