Avatar n tn And yes, I found out from the MIMS that Lanoxin is best taken on an empty stomach, My Dr, can not gv Lanoxin for me as a Maintenance Drug, since my BP is 90/60. And she can not see anything with my heart as showed in my 2D Echo with Doppler. Now she is considering hormonal imbalance, since I am entering a peri menopausal stage. But she advised me too to take a Stress Test to chck on my physio electrical activity. I will keep u posted. I work with animals too and that keeps me active.
Avatar n tn Also, I researched Lanoxin and that sounds like it may be a drug suitable for him. Any advice you may have would be great thanks.
Avatar n tn Is amiodarone as safe a drug as digoxin or linoxin for A-fib as far as long term side affects are concerned?
Avatar n tn Is your uncle taking Lanoxin (heart medication)? Lanoxin has shown to increase the pumping strength. My father had a weak heart beat and after being on Lanoxin for about 10 years now, he's heart beat is strong (very strong per taking his pulse). Ask your uncle's doctor about Lanoxin.
329165 tn?1515471990 Went to Cardio for 6 weeks check-up and he prescribed LANOXIN 0,25mg with high starting dosage (had to take 4 tabs the 1st day). It is now 7 days later and still no improvement. My HR is still fast and BP low and I now have extra systoles/irregular HR. Should I stop using LANOXIN and switch to SOTACOR (I used it pre-op). I had Ablation done in Nov. 2007 to treat PSVT. Thank you!
Avatar n tn It was given out like aspirin. It is very unfortunate that it became a schedule one drug, with the drug enforcement administration tracking down phjysicians who prescribe it. Valium does degrade situational awareness as well as intellectual acuity, and may interfere with driving safety, although that is more of a problem for the first time user. I have used it (prescribed by a physician) rarely, when under extreme stress, and then only for a day or two, and never became addicted.
Avatar n tn I just took a drug test and it came came positive for hydromorphone not sure what it is I take 6 vicoden a day and answers
Avatar f tn My mother is on coreg .325 and docs just took her off of lanoxin hoping that is causing platelet drop, they aren't sure yet. today heart rate at 142 bpm at rest. All this started happening feb 21. before that heart rate around 100. The problem with more coreg or other beta blockers is the fact her bp too low 96 over 50 the majority of the time. I am soo scared for her, lanoxin prevents heart attack yet it could be the cause of very low platelets and she could bleed to death. catch 22.
Avatar f tn The medications really helps and are best. My dad was taking Lanoxin to strength his heart pump and I took his pulse the other day and was it strong. There was quite a change that I felt from before he started taking it. I am glad to hear that you are improving and feeling better. Take care.
Avatar f tn To reduce the risk of an error, prescribers should print all orders for Lanoxin and levothyroxine and include the purpose for each drug on all prescriptions. Both the mg dose and the mcg conversion should be listed in all levothyroxine orders and on product labels, such as "levothyroxine 100 mcg (0.1 mg)" or "Synthroid 0.1 mg (100 mcg).
Avatar n tn My baby girl is 2 months and 2 weeks old her doctor told me se suffers from VSD muscular 4mm, ASD2 4mm,PHT and he gave her medicine lasix and lanoxin but she became lazy, less active and always sleepy without appetite.
Avatar n tn He was then discharged and is now recovering at home. He was taking Lanoxin and diuretics and did not have any swelling or breathlessness. So after 3 months the doctor stopped these medications (without checking the EF). He went for his checkup this month (9 months after surgery) and his echo shows an EF of 40%. The doctor also mentions "Mild LV Dysfunction". So now the doctor has put him back on Lanoxin and diuretics. Is this heart failure where the prognosis is poor?
Avatar m tn Addiction is categorzied by maladaptive behavior that is typically out of character for the person, including doing things that are harmful, without any regard for the consequences, in order to get the drug. Addiction includes mental cravings for the meds, where dependency is almost always just physical in nature. It's important for you to determine which category you would fit into, if indeed this is even a concern for you.
Avatar m tn In animal studies that evaluated the effects of Klonopin during pregnancy, the drug increased the risk of birth defects. Klonopin and Pregnancy Category D The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) uses a category system to classify the possible risks to a fetus when a specific medicine is taken during pregnancy. Pregnancy Category D is given to medicines that have shown clear evidence of risk to the fetus in studies.
Avatar f tn Yes stop taking it! It is a category c drug. It can cause premature birth, low birth weight and withdraw symptoms in a newborn. Talk to your doctor asap about it.
Avatar f tn the FDA looks at every drug about to go on the market and gives it a rating - A being the best and X being the worst for pregnancy. Pregnancy Category C, for instance, means the drug has caused abnormalities in animal fetuses but no human studies have been conducted. So with Pregnancy Category C drugs, the FDA allows doctors to make their own decision as to whether the beneits of the drugs outweight the risks.
162069 tn?1224677411 ___________________________________________________________ If you took Digitek, Cardoxin, Lanoxin or Lanoxicaps and suffered from overdose, it could be due to taking defective tablets containing twice the active ingredient as approved.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure about that drug so I googled it to see what it says. Its listed as a category "C" drug, which my neurologist explained to me like this. Category "A" drugs are the safest during pregnancy, as you go the B, C, D the safeness decrease. I currently take a drug thats a category "C" but I also have to take folic acid to offset any side effects. I also found this: PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: Sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim may cause harm to the fetus.
