I went from taking nothing to taking Klonipin 1mg 3-4x/day, Inderal 10mg 3x/day, and Lamictal. I got up to 150mg of the Lamictal after 7weeks. I had a dangerous and deadly reaction to the Lamictal. I was told to stop it suddenly. My life has been a disaster ever since. I feel I was better before I took all of this stuff. I have been suicidal due to the sudden stop of the meds. Last Saturday i tried to kill myself. I took 90mg of klonopin and about 45mg of inderal. I awoke about 6 hrs.

Hi Everyone! I recently posted that I had been increased to 400 mg of Lamictal, going from 200 mg. To say that was a bad idea is an understatement! One day, out of the blue, I literally couldn't use my legs! My brain would say walk but the message did not register in my legs. just founf out i have juvenile myoclonic epilepsy, which is also generalized. b/c it went untreated for yrs i had 1 grand mal seizure. i'm still kinda new at this but im pretty sure ive also have absence seizures. sine it went undiagnosed for yrs, these things started to become "normal" now theres a bit of a fine line whether im having a seizure or not. anyway, i take lamictal and i like it. it's helped me a lot. i had a couple side affects at the beginning but adjusted to it.

Hi I have Bipolar but I have never taken Lamictal, but I am on Sodium Valproate and have been on Lithium aswell. I do know that Lamictal can cause menstrual irregularities, I'm not suprised to hear that your cycle has got longer and that it is lighter. I know that with this group of medicines pregnancy is contraindicated and birth defects have been reported. I couldn't be exact about Lamictal but I would definitely stop taking it immediately if I was to become pregnant.

I'm 19 and have been epileptic for 6 years, I have tried a variety of medications including keppra (giving me suicidal tendencies) and a couple of others which didn't control seizures. I have always been on Lamictal, which is slowly being increased after any fits or 'episodes' until the right dose for me is reached, in conjunction with this I also take Ethisuxomide, a drug that has worked well in controlling my absences.

I am on 200mg lamictal per day as well as methylphenidate (ritalin). I got laser hair removal on my face. It was a very positive experience. The problem is that i was always on antipsychotics once diagnosed 2 years ago, but never on a proper mood stabilizer. A month ago i got fed up and my pdoc started me on an infantile dose of 2mg then 4 of lamictal etc...gradually to avoid side effects, e.g rashes, etc... since i was in the depressed phase already it was assumed not to help immediately so i intervened with seroxat/paxil an AD until my lamictal kicks in.

Lamictal is a mood stabilizer with anti-depressant qualities - some even say it works better then other classes of anti-depressants - Zyprexa and Lamictal are both common treatments for bipolar. If the BP is hard to treat, there may be other meds added on, but she's on a good combination. Ask your pharmacist as well.

Hi. I've been on these boards a long time. My last failed treatment had to fail because about 9 weeks into the treatment, I developed retinal hemmorhaging. My husband (we've divorced now, but not because of this). He had to do my shot that night into the back of the forearm because I felt so awful. As he prepared the medication, I had to keep correcting what he was doing.

I cannot believe they let it get that far without taking you off. I was just on zoloft and clonazapam and i just got switched to buspar and lamictal . I'm taking it for depression and bipolar . But if i have any problems with my balance or remembering things i will get off of it immediately . It would be awesome if they could make just 1 medication that didn't have any side effects wouldn't it?

I take a drug called lamictal. Prior to taking Lamictal I was extremely tired depressed ,agitated and snappy under stress. I have no enjoyment or interest in anything including my work which I use to enjoy. My only interst is the bible and going to church. However, she said I may be the treatment resistence type so prescribed me 25MG of lamictal to add to my 37.5mg of Effexor XR. I am supposed to take 12.5mg/day for one week then start on the full 25mg. t pay for the lamictal I was taking, and even if I tried, lamictal was a pretty stiff liver hazard penalty. I know that others have had it much worse. Maybe I'm spoiled, I know that I am weak. I can't concentrate, I hate the way I look, I hate the mean way that I act and think. I hate the mean, terrible things that happen in this world to people that don't seem to deserve it. Little innocent children killed and mistreated. I want out, I can't help feeling this way.
