Avatar f tn What do contractions in your butt and back feel like? Is it a constant pain or come and go? I've been through labor once but it was all in front and ended in csection. Not sure if what I'm experiencing are contractions or just aches and pains from bring 38 weeks. Any input would greatly help!
Avatar f tn Im not sure but if you are having back pain labor get on all fours with your upper body slightly higher than your knees and sort of rock back and forth. This will help the baby re-position, thus releaving the back pain labor. Ive read that the correct position from the baby to come out is with his/her face towards your bum.

Avatar f tn I had back labor, it was all in my lower back not in my upper back, but maybe its different for others. It could just be the stress of carrying baby on your body. I would try streches, a warm bath, heating pad, and some tylenol if your really desperate!

Should i call my doctor?
529440 tn?1232113705 So continue your nice long walks, but make sure to take plenty of water with you, and if the BH contractions start while in the middle of your walk, stop and take a breather and maybe do some stretching, stretching helps relieve a lot of pain including sciatic nerve pain.
1472764 tn?1287588186 Has anyone had tenderness in the upper abdomen right under the breasts? This started yesterday and I'm kind of worried.
Avatar f tn So I'm 38wks and I don't think I've had contractions yet, but this morning I had a very painful cramping in my upper abdomen, and since then I've been having back cramps. Could this be the start or contractions? They aren't consistent yet, just wondering.
8365413 tn?1407251515 33+4. This is my third pregnancy. With my oldest two I only had pressure in my butt never "back contractions" is it possible to get them in your upper back?
Avatar f tn with both of ma kids i had back labor meaning thats the only place i felt ma contractions only thing i felt in ma stomach was the tightening in ma stomach durning ma contractions!
1596202 tn?1297306958 Stomach aches don't mean labour. Not every symptom or sign actually does. The important thing. Are they contractions, or stomach cramps. There's a large difference in the two. Contractions are in either your lower stomach and will tighten and it might spread into your back or they'll be in your lower back and you won't question if it's labour or not. If it's in your upper stomach you might be sick, baby could be pushing against your belly...
Avatar n tn When I was in labor, with two of three kids, it was back labor. The first time they wouldn't let me do anything to relieve it and forced the epidural on me. With my second back labor(9 days ago) I stalled out at five cm and was encouraged to get on my hands and knees to try to get baby to turn his head from face up to face down. It worked and made my contractions start up and my water to break. They said I was having back labor cause of his position.
9827649 tn?1410039233 I had back labor with my first and I had regular contractions but they were sporadic but my back hurt so bad nothing helped it I'd lay down on my side and it would stop but then begin hurting again.
Avatar f tn N they r further apart. Real contractions start in ur back (bad backpain) n pain starts in ur upper abdomen n then moves to ur entire belly. They also get stronger n in a pattern. But to do not go in unless it's 3 to 5 min apart. N the count is from the begin of a contraction to the beginning of the next contractions. All this time I thought it was from one finished to when the next started. Oh he said it has to be 3 to 5 min for at least 30 min.
Avatar f tn Is back labor considered real labor or real contractions out can you have back labor and still have contractions in the front sorry lol I'm confused as tho what back labor is considered?
Avatar f tn Is it possible to get contractions in your back and it not be actual back labor? I'm praying my baby is facing the right direction still and didn't turn sunny side up.

Avatar f tn I know exactly what you are feeling. I felt the same thing with my third child. He was well over due. The night before I gave birth to him. I was hurting in my back very bad. I felt this off and on through out my pregnancy so I didn't think much of it. Needless to say I got no sleep that night and by the time my children's father awoke I told him I felt I needed to go to the hospital because I was in a lot of pain.
Avatar f tn It was weird when i started getting the back labor i didnt realize that was the start of labor until i got the contractions in the front.
Avatar f tn Nope, it's called back labor. You can most certainly feel them in your back, you can see if its like a thing you can time and of so call or OB to see what they say.
