Now then in morning knee lil swollen, pain when walking, no bending or squatting which would lead my proffessional opinion to be you over streched tendons, possibly a slight tear. Use an ice pack for 2 days twice a day 30 mins each. No more weights till Friday. If everything returns to normal leave the squats out for an additional week. However by this Friday if knee is still the same, go see family doctor.
It warms the ice pack quickly. My thigh is swollen too, but all the pain is in my knee. It hurts to touch the bones in my knee. My ankles are a little swollen and also the calf on the other leg. I have had a meniscus tear and arthritis in one knee and baker's cyst in the other. Should I see an orthopedic surgeon or a Vascular surgeon? My knee is really hurting 24/7.

Hey. I have had knee pain for the last 2 and a half years. i am 18 years old. my knee is swollen and changes siz on a regular basis. i have been back and for between my gp and my physiotherapist but my physio has never seen anything like it. i am constantly on my feet and struggle getting up from kneeling. i have pain when playing sport and when im relaxing. my knee does constantly pop and click. anyone got any ideas that would help me would be great.
51 yo F, diagnosed with Runners Knee, have been in pain, swollen and limping for 7 months. Dr. says to just keep coming back for cortisone, but it really does nothing. I can hardly walk, I am in pain, do I have to live like this? Is my doctor on the right track? Maybe I have meniscus tears??? It affects everything... walking, sleeping, working. Help!! Also, I have had xrays only. Shows no arthritis. In both knees, although one is worse than the other.
It started with my left knee just hurting occasionallu, to my knee hurting all the time, to my knee hurting all the time and then occasional swelling, to my knee hurting all the time and it is swollen 24-7. The pain gets so bad that I get what feels like an electric stabbing pain and my knee gives out. And my hips start hurting as well. I tested for RA and it came back as negative, j went to an orthopedic surgeon, and everything came back nothing.
I have knee pain in my right knee when I kneel down on it.About a year ago the same knee for some reason unknown to me got very swollen & had to use crutches for about a week. Anyway when I kneel down it is like kneeling on a tack. Then it has a sensation of a rug burn to the touch. After about five times of this happening I looked more closely. On the right lower outer edge of knee cap it gets a swell pocket. It does not swell up the entire knee just this oval like shaped pocket.
I'm 22+ 2. I have this one area on my leg, under my knee and a little closer to the inside, that is super painful to touch. I noticed it last night when I laid down and my other knee bumped it. It looks slightly swollen, but no bruising. I know I didn't hit my leg on anything. Could this be the start of a varicose vein? Should I call the doc? It doesn't hurt to walk or anything just when something touches it.
Recently, 5 days ago I think, I fell on this knee pretty badly and as you can imagine this brought a world of pain. When I got home, I rubbed some Hotemin cream on the knee, I put a wrap on it and I took an Acteric tablet to help with the pain of walking (or limping, in my case).
The wrap was one of those you just pull over the knee, not an actual length of cloth wrapped around the knee and at first I thought it was just the right fit, being a little tight.
Hi i have a terrible pain in my left leg and it feels and looks like the vein at the back of my knee gets swollen and and it goes all the way up and it hurts a lot,it feels like the blood doesnt move, this is been going on for about 4 weeks but is worse and when im in bed its a very bad,can you please tell me what this is.

I started having unexplainable severe knee pain. No idea how or why. No injury, no swelling, no bruising. I had my knee examined, Xrays done, and everything looked great. I decided to change the sneakers I was using to exercise and actually use sneakers when using the eliptical at home and as God is my witness - problem solved!!!!!!!! No more knee pain.

Ankle went and I fell onto my left knee. People with me were more worried about my knee but most pain was in the ankle at the time so I was completely unconcerned by the knee. I got up and walked to my meeting, then went to a doctor who briefly glanced at my knee and gave it the all clear, and diagnosed a sprain in my ankle.
Five weeks later an xray showed a fracture to my right ankle (lateral malleolus).
It is still sore and a little swollen. The pain is on the top left (inside) where the quad connects to the knee (when bent it feels like the top of the bone to the inside of the knee). It hurts to bend my knee after sitting for a long period of time and sometimes need to help it bend. To straighten out the knee doesn't hurt but when I tighten my quad, it is a little sore. There is some bruising on the inner part of the quad. I am hoping it is just a bad bruise and nothing serious.

Hello. I fell on my left knee about a month ago. The first week, it was painful to walk, but now I have no pain. Only I have a huge swelling above my knee. I can't bent my knee more than 90 degrees because the swelling puts great pressure on my knee and I cannot bend it any more. There is no pain, but the muscles are stiff. The swelling is not sitting directly on the knee, but rather higher up the leg than the knee.

A complete clinical examination is essential for correct diagnosis. There can fluid within the knee joint itself, or in the surrounding soft tissue. Acute injuries, anterior cruciate ligament tear, meniscal tears, ligament sprains all can lead to fluid or blood accumulation around the knee joint. If there is no history of trauma any infection in the knee joint can lead to swelling.
Had a total knee replacement six months ago because of a torn ACL, torn meniscus and arthritic knee. The pain is now worse than before I had the replacement surgery. My knee is always swollen, stiff and hot to touch since surgery. I have taken Celebrex that helped the pain but had to stop because my kidney function BU/CU ratio is now elevated. I cannot take other NSAID's because they elevate my blood pressure. I have a history of chronic Lyme disease.
the next morning i couldnt walk on it the it gradually got better through the week then i went to a skatepark yesterday and when jumping off something it came back it wasnt fully healed yet anyway but it is swollen about 1/2 the size of my knee cap and hurts when i squat, or do things that put pressure on it. Its a hard swollen knot.
