Avatar m tn //www.eyecenteroftexas.com]Houston Lasik Surgery [/url]) a little while ago. They were really great and the doctor didn't sell me glasses I apparently didn't need (some other doc sold me bifocals when I was 30!) and I never used. Anyway, I would recommend them. I was in and out quick and had a good exam.
Avatar f tn I do not know what went wrong but right after surgery a large flex machine was dropped right on the knee while I lay in a hospital bed unable to move. Even though caused extrem pain and I lat out a horrible scream noone thaught it could of done damage. I have been to several doctors and noon seems to know what the problem is. One doctor said that the x-rays show a slightly tilted knee cap and some bone on metal at knee cap.

Yes, I'm exhausted and head and neck hurts, but not as much as I had thought. Lots of naps and short walks to get my strength back up. Down to half the prescribed pain meds. My most noticeable improvement is the ability to really breathe ,,, big lungfuls of air. Feels great.
Avatar f tn I went home and got to work investigating my IOL options and to find THE BEST ophthalmic surgeon in the Houston area to perform this surgery. It took me about three weeks to decide that the Crystalens HD was the best IOL for me, and another four weeks to find an ophthalmic surgeon that I felt comfortable with and QUALIFIED. A major deciding factor in finding the ophthalmic surgeon was their education and their replies to a 50 question cataract surgery checklist I found online.
Avatar f tn Because this came back as not really saying that i do or do not have cancer, i am very nervous of having this surgery done. EVERYTHING i have read about having thyroid surgery is ABSOLUTLEY HORRIBLE. from gaing weight to hair loss, mood swings and on and on ....... It would be a heck of a lot easier decision to make if it would have just come back as cancer, or not cancer. I honestly do not no what to do. The blood work that I have had, is normal as far as thyroid levels are concerned.
Avatar f tn I am a 56 year-old-woman and I have been diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm(4.8cm) and leaking aortic valve. I have been told it needs to grow a little more before surgery, but I'd like to have all my ducks in a row before the day comes. I have been told to go out of state for this surgery and have relatives in Dallas and Houston so I'd like to have it done there. Anyone know of a great Dr. who specializes in this area?

1467525 tn?1286414315 This all came from me demanding an MRI due to her dizziness, headaches, balance issues, feeding issues and eyes crossing at times. I have seen two pedi neuro doctors in Houston. One I just couldn’t communicate with and one (who happens to be the chief neurosurgeon at TCH) who seems to know nothing about Chiari. She has headaches, vertigo, issues swallowing solid food and sensitivity to light at least 20/30 days.
Avatar f tn I have seen others ask about specialists in Houston, TX and I found one that I'm 100% satisfied with. I have never come away from an appointment so happy and comforted in my LIFE. It is this guy: http://www.vitals.com/doctors/Dr_Peter_J_Yeh.html He took the time to go through my MRI slide by slide and explain everything to me.
Avatar n tn I am thinking that not only can he probably do the surgery, but it may be better for him to do the surgery and lose some weight before beginning treatment. Obesity can affect the ability to SVR. Your specialist will be able to tell you what genotype he has. Some genotypes respond to treatment more easily than others. PM me if you want, I'd be interested to know who you're going to see in Houston. My old doctor moved to Houston and is a hep c specialist there now.

Avatar n tn My vision is just great at 20/25, and it has been that since my 6 week checkup post surgery. I do not know where you live, but my DSAEK surgeon is in Houston Texas, at Houston Eye Associates, His name is John Goosey, and I am very proudly recommending him to you. I met people from all over the US in his waiting room who came to him for the DSAEK surgery.
Avatar f tn I am also in Houston Texas. I had my decompression surgery 3 months ago and although my neurosurgeon has great credentials I do wish I went with a specialist. Definitely do not settle for just anyone and if you so happen to find one within Houston please let me know. I'm currently trying to find one as well.
Avatar f tn I also have a cyst in the back of my knee plus strained my ACL. I’d appreciate any input on the surgery if anyone has had it.
647391 tn?1275016633 I am 50 years old and set to have knee replacement surgery in a month. This is because of damage to the knee and missing cartilage. What is your thoughts as to someone my age having knee replacement surgery. Also, what is the quickest recovery you have seen for someone with knee replacement surgery?
Avatar m tn Were I in your situation, I would be planning to travel to an aortic center to see a surgeon with demonstrated expertise aortic arch surgery. There are relatively few such surgeons in the US, so you would be looking at traveling to one of a few centers, such as Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, Texas Heart Institute (in Houston) Debakey Center (also in Houston), Mt. Sinai in NYC, Brigham & Womens in Mass., Northwestern in Chicago Ill., or a place of that ilk.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled to have orthoscopic knee surgery on my right knee to correct problems I am having related to osteoarthritis. Does this type of surgery prevent osteoarthritis from returning? Is this surgery safe? What is recovery like after surgery? Any information anyone has regarding this topic will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn We were discussing university/teaching hispitals for retina surgery on the other forum. I want to consult with someone regarding my care during the last year. I want to stay close to central texas, in case I want to go back to the selected place for care. I checked out Hermann in Houston, and found no adult ophthalmology. Does Baylor/Houston have a good reputation? How about Scott and White Institute in Waco, Texas? The web site for the last one is down. My insurance requires no referral.
6473455 tn?1381627629 So, in my opinion, you must discuss the risks and then first go ahead with aneurysm surgery and then with the knee surgery. Depending on the location, risk of hemorrhage, risk of rupture, family history, etc, your surgeon will estimate the risk. Also ask your ortho specialist whether there are other options for you except knee replacement surgery. Then if your neuro-surgeon feels you can wait for a year or more and have MRI in between to monitor progress, then you can wait this time.
