Hi, Knee fusion surgery is a last resort for any knee related problem. It is a salvage procedure rather a management of knee arthritis. I am sorry to say but if you would have gone ahead with knee fusion then, doctors would not have been able to do ligament reconstruction or knee replacement surgery. The anatomy of knee or knee joint configuration would have changed after the knee fusion surgery to do any sort of surgery after that.

However, when I showed my right knee last month this year I was told that I need full knee replacement. The surgeon recommended Otisknee replacement procedure. Is it possible that my right knee can deteriorate in onr year to have full replacemnt as opposed to partial. What are the reports on Otisknee replacement procedure. What are the pros & cons of partial replacement versus full replacement.

All pacemakers need to be replaced eventually because the battery runs down, and it's a safe and normally a routine procedure. The existing leads will be attached to the new pacemaker. It's possible an additional lead will be inserted. I'm sure your husband doesn't look forward to having the procedure again!

on investigating they found that my femor and knee cap was in a bad way and worn and in time i will need a knee cap replacement, however thankfully not at the present time. I am just now 50 years old and the surgeon did the procedure to try to postpone or avoid a total knee replacement. It was relatively active as far as walking, gardening, and other low to non impact type activities. However climbing stairs has always been very difficult. I have a long history of knee problems since the time I was eight years old. They dislocated frequently and I've had other injuries. Of course now I have the arthritis.

I had bilateral knee replacement done in 2008. I went through the operation with no pain. Now, it's a different story. I have jolts of muscle and tendon pain. My mother had full knee replacement surgery around october. The operation seems to have been a success. But a few weeks after the operation she developed diahrrea.
