Knee pain when pressure applied

Common Questions and Answers about Knee pain when pressure applied

knee-pain

Avatar n tn About a week ago, my knee started feeling sharp pain only when pressure is applied. I don't remember what exactly my position was (maybe I kneeled, maybe my leg touched the under side of a table). But anyway, whatever it was that touched my knee felt like a tiny sharp needle instead! There is no swelling or any visible sign. I tried to find out what it was but there was nothing there. I rubbed my knee, sort of poked at it to try and pinpoint where the pain came from.
Avatar f tn i have a buring tearing sensation in knee when little pressure is applied?
Avatar m tn I just finished the third set of injections; you will feel some pain during the injection into the knee. The cold numbing spry helps when then injection starts, however you feel a slight amount of pain from the pressure of the fluid passing into the knee, the pain goes away pretty fast. If you need fluid removed from the knee this is unpleasant. Extra fluid in the knee makes it hard to bend and causes additional pain.
Avatar f tn ) It has since progressed to mid-quad, and over the past year, I pain has worsened, especially when there is even the slightest pressure applied to my ankle, calf, or knee area (soft parts of those areas-not the bone). I do not feel the pain when I am active, standing, or sitting- ONLY when pressure (light or firm) is applied- like during a massage or when my dog rubs pass my leg. I want to mention, I do not have tenderness in my feet or anywhere else like I am experiencing in my lower legs.
Avatar f tn Knee pain could be mechanical, your posture when doing these exercises could be leaving your knees damaged? You may need to have your balanced runners checked, maybe add some feet supports to correct the knee angles etc. It fixed my issue somewhat.
Avatar f tn This ice and other anti-inflammatory remedies usually work best when applied along side of the lumbar spine where pain is felt, above the erector s. and quadratus l. muscles, above the hip bone. Some people receive relief at pressure points located in the center of the buttock, the mid-thigh, and back of the knee. Lately I've seen a television commercial for an elastic band with "magical" properties, designed to apply pressure to these pressure points to relieve sciatic pain.
Avatar f tn Hi, I was travelling in a bus. Driver applied a break, I didn't even move from the position, but I heard a sound from my right knee - "clukk". Next days onwards the pain started. I had been to physician, he said there might be a ligament tear...advised on tablets. But no use, then had advised me to wear knee cap for few days. I was feeling better with knee cap. I removed it after 25 days, it was little better for 2 days, then again the pain is back.
Avatar f tn The pain is 10/10 and I can only unlocking it by hanging my knee over my other leg while lying on my stomach relieving pressure on the outside of the knee. This all started beginning when I injured my knee sliding on wet grass my cleat got stuck and twisted my ankle. At first the locking would occur multiple times a week and was extreme. Mri’s including a contrast were clean. I no longer deal with the problem except for the fact I cannot preform the exact slide that injured it.
Avatar n tn I did find stretching out my hamstring muscles the most effective way of overcoming sciatica. And heat always felt good applied as well when pregnant.
Avatar f tn I'm already like that at 23w2d.. I seriously toss from left to right because my hips and knees kill me.. which ever side I lay on, that hip & knee wake me up.. I sleep with a pillow between my legs (always have) & that doesn't help with the pain.. mine reaches from my face to my calves.. I'm short haha! BUT my fiancé & I use 2 separate comforters.. I toss too much, my body temperature is insane, and I pee a lot..
Avatar m tn I wanted to know what is the word for that stuff that happens when you put pressure on nerves for long time, like while sleeping when you put your arm under your head or when sitting a squat position and then you feel like numbness and like insects rumbling in the area around the knee and mainly behind the knee area, when ever it happens it is just for a couple of minutes and then slowly goes of and then its like it never happened.
Avatar f tn Then when I go to stand there is that serve pain and then the pain intensifies as weight/pressure is applied for about a good 2-5 minutes were I wince and get weak in the knees because of the pain. Then it all passes and I don’t feel anything, it just goes away, unless I go into a sitting position again. However, on a pain scale to touch or bump my knee caps is between 8-10, i puts me through the roof for a good 30secs to a minute until I can regain my composure.
Avatar n tn but to be safe and to make sure you can not get injured participating in your sport...see a Dr and ask about how you felt when pressure was applied and show the area to the Dr....see if there is an underlying issue that you felt the way you did . Let us know what you find out.
Avatar n tn SO I AM HAVING PRETTY EXTREME PAIN ONLY WHEN KNEEING ON LEFT KNEE--USUALLY DOMINATE KNEE THAT I ALWAYS KNEE ON WITH ALL MY WIEGHT ON FIRST. DOESNT HURT TO WALK ON OR BEND OR ANY OTHER MOTION. RECENTLY I CAN FEEL SENSATIONS FROM A LITTLE BELOW MY KNEE LIKE "PINS AND NEEDLES" BUT VERY SLIGHT. I CAN LIGHTLY TOUCH BELOW CENTER OF KNEE AND FEEL SAME PAIN WITH VERY LITTLE PRESSURE LIKE A SLIGHT RUB.
Avatar f tn Two hours ago, I fell about three metres and landed with all my weight on my left knee. I felt no click or immediate pain, but when I tried to move it, it was shaky. I rested and applied ice, but everytime I put even a little bit of weight on my left leg, it hurts in the area of the lateral collateral ligaments. Have I damaged a ligament or tendon? Approximately when will I be able to walk again? Thanks in advance, Haylee.
Avatar f tn When I walk my legs are fine but when I kneel down on my right leg it feels like my right knee the muscle in there is like stretching this a stinging pain it's on the right side of my knee any suggestions on what I could do if it's serious like a torn muscle but it only happens when I kneel down walking is fine it's like just putting pressure on the knee kneeling down
Avatar m tn How do i get rid of pain that only occurs when i apply pressure to my right leg. When bending the pain increases sharply. My age is 19 but how to take away this pain?
Avatar f tn I would not be worried except for the fact that they occur when slight pressure-even when applied from an object as soft as a pillow-is applied to the back of my head (the migraines do not occur when I apply pressure to the sides of my head). Do you recommend a cat scan??
Avatar f tn I had ablation done on 1/29/16 and was in recovery when I formed a hematoma on my right groin. 4 people then applied pressure for an agonizing 1/2 hour. I am very swollen and bruised. I am home now and am applying cold compress and taking tylenol for any discomfort. Is there anything else I should be doing?
Avatar m tn I have pain right above my kneecap, but when I sit it does not hurt to be bent, and when I straitghten it out it feels like it pulls at my kneecap. It is my left knee and when I go up or down stairs it hurts. I have applied heat and ice but it does not appear to be going away. There is a little pain in the back also. I have had my right knee xrayed and have had an MRI and have a torn lateral and medial miscus that needs to be repaired as well as a baker cyst on the back.
Avatar n tn despite being administered pain meds through her IV at the ER. The pain was worse when she coughed or if pressure was applied to the area. However if pressure was applied then released it was more painful after the release. The pain was constant at first then less frequent but still as intense. Her blood tests, CT scan and ultrasound were normal. She had not previously had a pelvic exam and is not sexually active. The doctor did a manual exam.
546214 tn?1214454140 Hi, Water on the knee is a generic term used to describe knee swelling which occurs when excess fluid accumulates in or around the knee joint. There are many common causes for the swelling, including arthritis, injury to the ligaments or meniscus, or when fluid collects in the bursa. This condition is known as prepatellar bursitis. The type of fluid that accumulates around the knee depends on the underlying disease, condition or type of traumatic injury that caused the excess fluid.
689528 tn?1364135841 I have been having pain recently on my right side like when I step up out of the shower or moe quickly. I went to the chiropractor today and he did a stretch and applied pressure to the area and said I was really tight and that's what it was. Feels like a muscle pulling in the top of your hip in the front. He gave me some stretches that DH can help me with. I would try to explain them to you guys but it's hard to do without seeing.
1850203 tn?1325253608 This is caused by fluid built up under pressure within the knee cavity in response to an inflammatory problem within the knee. Usually no treatment is given if there are no symptoms. If anti-inflammatory medications are not able to take care of the pain, then draining the fluid is an option. Often corticosteroid injections are given at the same time. Patients remain symptoms free for varying periods of time ranging from few days to year or more.
