Avatar f tn I have the same issue. Mine stems from hyperextended muscle on the side of the knee.
Avatar n tn Left leg had an ankle fusion and know knee is hyperextended and causing more problems. Worried if I get knee replaced the fused ankle will do the same thing to the new knee.
Avatar m tn I play street hockey and while running during a game about 2 weeks ago, I landed a bit awkwardly on my right foot. I felt like I had jammed or very slightly hyperextended my knee. The pain was moderate and after a day or so it was all but gone. I have suffered no 'real' injury from this, as I am able to walk, run, work out, etc. with no issues or loss of performance. However, since the event I've noticed that my knee aches after I play hockey.
Avatar f tn UPDATE ~ received X-today, but it's unlikely anything will show up. I feel it's soft tissue damage. At least she confirmed swelling, and the blood pooling in my ankle, though it's not as bad as the 1st week of injury. Next will be an MRI after results are sent to her. She gave me a script for Celebrex because I can't tolerate most NSAID's. Another question?? I have no back pain, could this possibly be sciatic nerve pain.
159619 tn?1707018272 He said there is a considerable fluid build up in the injured left knee and suspects at the least an MCL tear (it does feel exactly like my right knee when I tore that MCL). I'll be getting an MRI next week to confirm and he has me on Hydrocodone 10/500 for the pain. When I tore my right MCL, I never got fluid in the knee and the level of pain is getting considerably worse on the new injury from my experience with the previous injury on my right knee.
Avatar n tn This morning i woke up with a substantial pain in my left elbow. when extended it doesn't really hurt to bad, however when I bend it, it is quite painful. I am assuming i must have slept on it in a weird way or something. Possibly with it bent up against my chest and then maybe i rolled on top of it. I am not sure what this means I don't know if i may have hyperextended it in some way or what can be done to help it. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated.
Avatar m tn So, your sensory neurons are intact, but ability to feel physical pain is lost. CIP is of two types—insensitivity to pain (which you have as you feel pain but cannot perceive its intensity) and indifference to pain (where the person is indifferent to even huge amount of pain—you may have this component partially). Also, autonomic component may be partially damaged as you can hold stool and urine. These are genetic disorders with problems in sodium channels and other defects.
Avatar f tn Older woman here, developed knee pain 2 months ago. It thankfully went away, but then about a week ago started hurting again, this time in different location, just to the left and medial of my knee cap. Every step is excruciating, only way to describe it. Guess I have meniscus tear? But has anyone experienced this type of horrible pain with Every Step? If so did you find a remedy?
Avatar m tn Husband and I went to movie. Upon getting up from movie, my left knee went out, just like that. Then, I had to walk on ball of my foot without bearing full weight; felt hyperextended, like something was going to tear if I put full weight on it. Seemed to calm down once home. Soon after, I was on livingroom floor with new puppy. Suddenly, left buttock (exact site where I removed the tick) felt bruised - felt much like muscle tissue soreness after having an injection or something.
Avatar n tn At my 9 yo daughters yearly well visit the PA mentioned these bony bumps on my daughters legs. They are on both legs, on the outside just below the knee. They have been there as long as I can remember and I just assumed that they were normal and that was the way she was built. They cause her no pain and don't interfere with any activity but the PA made such a big deal about it and said she had never seen it like that before so, of course, now I am worrying.
Avatar m tn The 2 weeks were filled with stiffness, immediate mobility loss, nagging pain, no swelling, loss of grip strength, and pain when spreading fingers. Most terrible symptom was pain when pushing on bottom of hand like if i were to do a push-up. After 2 weeks and no improvement, i visited the doctor under the impression that i had broken one of the carpal bones inside of the wrist.
Avatar f tn The next day in the car on the way home I was in agony with every bump causing more pain around my level of injury t1 including sharp stabbing pAin , ( only other time felt the same pain sensation was when I had the Harrington rods put in .
Avatar n tn Can someone please explain what hyperextended lungs is.
Avatar f tn When I got up this morning I almost fell when I put weight on my left leg. The pain in my left knee was horrible. I tried working through it thinking it was just stiff from sleeping, but it has not improved. It doesn't hurt unless I put weight on it, and then it's an excruciating sharp pain on the right side of the knee only. I have never had anything like this before, even before it was replaced. Any suggestions as to what it may be?
Avatar f tn The pain is 10/10 and I can only unlocking it by hanging my knee over my other leg while lying on my stomach relieving pressure on the outside of the knee. This all started beginning when I injured my knee sliding on wet grass my cleat got stuck and twisted my ankle. At first the locking would occur multiple times a week and was extreme. Mri’s including a contrast were clean. I no longer deal with the problem except for the fact I cannot preform the exact slide that injured it.

Avatar f tn I'm already like that at 23w2d.. I seriously toss from left to right because my hips and knees kill me.. which ever side I lay on, that hip & knee wake me up.. I sleep with a pillow between my legs (always have) & that doesn't help with the pain.. mine reaches from my face to my calves.. I'm short haha! BUT my fiancé & I use 2 separate comforters.. I toss too much, my body temperature is insane, and I pee a lot..
Avatar m tn I was putting in padded flooring in my home gym for about 4 hours. Since then I've had pain in my right knee only when kneeling on my right knee (like when tying shoes). It's to the side of the knee and feels like something is being stretched laterally at first, before I get a sharp pain that feels like it's stinging/tingly. It is not completely on the side of my knee, but in the softer area to the side of my knee cap.
Avatar f tn The puppy was rushed to the vet crying loudly and pale-colored. In the clinic, he was given a pain reliever which controlled his crying. The vet made a diagnosis of nerve damage in the neck area because the puppy’s head was hyperextended and he was flailing his arms and legs (paddling) which according to the vet was a bad sign. He said that the nerves from the neck area down are affected . There were no tests done, the diagnosis was made by observation only.
Avatar n tn My little one was 99 years old when she developed this problem, and it was solved by careful patient feeding. She had a peg when she was 103. She is now 105, going on 106. The disorder is often circadian. That is to say at certain times of the day (often late at night) swallowing becomes much easier. I would often schedule feeding at nine P.M. for this reason. Highly flavored foods (such as with a bit of hot sauce) can stimulate the swallowing reflex. Pureed foods are usually necessary.
Avatar f tn I get unbelievable pain from my knee down to my ankles when I jog. After about 40 minutes that pain is some what tolerable and I can jog for 4-5 minutes straight. For the rest of my day my ankles are sore. Does anybody have any idea what this is?
Avatar n tn your dilema sounds very similar to mine. I also loose my knee quite frequenty. I haven't seen a doctor yet, though. it took a bit of searching to find anything that sounds similar to my situation. I only have one question. Does it cause you a lot of pain. it doesn't hurt when my knee goes out. I does feel really weird. Mostly I'm embarassed especially at work. My co workers are starting to mimic my little bob as i catch myself before i fall.
Avatar n tn I also have alot of pain and tightness in the jaws in the mornings and it takes a while for me to be able to fully open my mouth. There is pain with chewing, yawning, talking and side movements of my jaw. I have also been getting alot of pretty bad headaches, I wake up in the middle of the night at times due to headaches and usually always have one when I awaken in the mornings.
