1961313 tn?1326290364 I have problems with my knees, just general stiffness-but one day I had to get down on my right knee and the pain was extreme,it wasn't necessarily in the knee but to the right side of the knee,it felt like the skin was splitting into,I look and the skin looked fine,so I don't know if it's the tendon or the muscle what ever it is,is very painful,in fact I can't get down on my knees any longer
Avatar m tn And for the record it seems my knee-area problem has 95% gone away. I am no longer aware of any stiffness and only notice a very slight twinge when squatting down. Yay, the body is a wonderful thing, but it didn't half take its time to heal.
Avatar f tn I have injured my MCL in the left knee, which has now been almost 2 months ago. I still can't walk normal by fully extending the leg when making steps but started the exercises recommended by physiotherapist. Two weeks ago however, I have felt a quite big pressing pain onto my injured ligament which have set me back with the recovery. The physiotherapist has explained to me that I might have a meniscus problem which causes the bone to "pop" and press the ligament.
Avatar f tn I have minimal swelling above the knee cap but no redness, warmth or presence of a fever. The pain is worse when I am sitting, climbing or coming down stairs, and extending the knee from 90 to 180 degrees. I have major weakness in the joint when standing (almost feels like it's going to "give out" if that makes sense). In the past 3 weeks it has started "popping" when I attempt to extend it. It cracks and makes funny grinding noises.
Avatar m tn If is painful to flex my leg muscle, which I notice more when extending my leg. The pain level is bearable. It feels somewhat better (temporarily) if I perform light exercise with the leg - although I am worried that I am actually causing more damage so I have been avoiding this until I know what is going on. The knee is not very swollen (it looks fairly normal, but I can feel that it is slightly puffy. It is somewhat tender where I feel the burning sensation.
Avatar f tn Did you get MRSA on your arm from the hospital when you had your surgery? I think the pain in the knee is probably from the surgery rather than MRSA. They won't know unless they culture it. Do you know if the ER did a culture on the knee fluid? Is the antibiotic you are on not working for the cellulitis MRSA? Cellulitis takes a while to clear up as it can be deep in the tissues.
Avatar n tn I had a bad fall about a year ago where I landed full force onto my knee which resulted in swelling and bruising that went from my knee down to my foot. I had pain on certain movements from then on. When I would get up sometimes my knee felt like it gave out. Also since then I have not been able to kneel down without pain in the kneecap.
Avatar f tn I had tkr 12 months ago i fell over on crutches 6 weeks after the 3 months after kicked out after a bad dream and felt something tear even more I have had an aspiration but I have had now benefit from this at all in actual fact I have been in more pain .When I move my knee and touch at the same time it feels like crushing eggshells .
Avatar f tn I am 51 years old with left knee pain for greater than a year. After having physical therapy for 4 weeks, continued exercises at home, ice, motrin I still have pain. Some days none, some days it can be bad. I finally had an MRI and the results were "Horizontal oblique tear of the body and posterior horn medial meniscus with 1.6x1.1x4.0cm parameniscal cyst extending inferiorly along the medial margin of the proximal tibial metaphysis.
Avatar m tn Hello to all. I know aches and pains are common sx during treatment but over the last week I've had 2 very pronounced and aggravating pains from my past suddenly show up. One is my right knee aching constantly and I injured this knee over 25 years ago and haven't experienced any pain since then until now. The second feels like a pinched nerve and neck pain extending down through my left shoulder and arm. This also is something I experienced many years ago and worked out of it.
Avatar m tn However, My knees make a loud popping sound when I extend the leg (sitting on a chair and extending). The popping sound bothers me.When I put my hand over knee I can feel the "mechanics" of the knee. I suffer no discomfort other than when I am running. I am trying not to have the operation as I have heard some good and some about knee operations.
Avatar n tn Rule out meniscus injury. TECHNIQUE: MRI of the knee was performed using the following sequences: axial, sagittal, and coronal proton density weighted with fat saturation; sagittal proton density weighted; sagittal 3D GRE. 284 images were presented for interpretation. Comparison(s): Right knee radiograph, 12/7/15 FINDINGS: Menisci: Medial meniscus: Horizontal tear of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus with extension into the body.
Avatar m tn Hi, I suffered a fall twisting my leg. MRI showed an undersurface tear in the posterior horn of the medial meniscus. The MCL was mildly thickened and edematous. I had an arthroscopy 3 weeks ago and the doctor said there was no tear. I am still having significant pain in the medial knee when standing up. Is it possible the tear was missed ? I'm not sure what to do. I golf quite a bit in the summer and I'm afraid with my knee pain I won't be able to. What do you suggest?
Avatar m tn - knee cap feels under pressure or aggravated, always. (like right after you lightly bump it on a table by accident) - extreme tightness. I cannot sit on my right heel. Once my heel is within about 8 to 10 inches of my butt my knee gets too tight to go further and it is extremely painful. - shooting pain up the outside of the hammy near the IT band, and down the outside of the calf, near the head of the fibula. This is on and off either during exercise or a result of.
Avatar f tn But I always seem to be extending thru this constant pain. Does everyone experience this pain? Will it ever go away?it is almost 11 weeks now and I am getting concerned that I may never lose this tightness. I need some reassurance. Please someone.
703031 tn?1398963307 My pain has since shifted to the back of my left thigh with stabbing sensations extending to behind the bend in my knee. Again, it hurts when I see and lay down but not so much when standing. The doc has ordered PT as well which I start next week. If after another week I am still in pain, he will order an MRI. I just want to make sure there isn't something they're missing.
Avatar m tn I recently had an MRI for a knee injury. The diagnosis is "an unstable tear involving the posterior horn and body with vertical and horizontal components extending to the articular surface. The tear extends into the posterior horn root attachment". WIll this injury require surgery?
Avatar m tn Dear I have also same poblem in my left knee i am working in saudi arabia. i filling very worst pain. i go to india i shown doctors. in my MRI report they found GRADE I CHNGES IN THE PROSTERIOR HORN OF MEDIAL MINISCUS. he gave me to do some exercises.and medicine. then i came back in saudi here i woking 8 hours sitting on chair. now same problem paining is worst when i sit more time. Avatar f tn Older woman here, developed knee pain 2 months ago. It thankfully went away, but then about a week ago started hurting again, this time in different location, just to the left and medial of my knee cap. Every step is excruciating, only way to describe it. Guess I have meniscus tear? But has anyone experienced this type of horrible pain with Every Step? If so did you find a remedy?
Avatar m tn Maybe a Bakers Cyst may have formed. If you are still having trouble with extending your knee, have an ultrasound performed, I did and that was one of the problems. Hope this helps. I have a long history of bad knees and inflammation, had to have the left knee replaced.
Avatar f tn Hi, thanks for your reply. I found the toe off to rigid for me. I have two little dogs who greet me and I couldn't bend down& get back up when trying to pet them. Now I wear a posterior which velcro's below my knee in the front.
Avatar f tn Am age 65. Diagnosed with tear in posterior horn of medial meniscus extending into inferior articular surface, plus some arthritis. Ice, heat, NSAIDs, hydrocodone don't help. Cortisone shot helped a little. Pain puts me in wheelchair if I walk much, and walking was my life until 12/08. Had recurrent C. difficile colitis for 8 months in 2005 - 06, so am at risk of another recurrence if I need antibiotics. Are there other treatments besides surgery?
Avatar m tn These cysts occur most often when the knee is damaged due to arthritis, gout, injury, or inflammation in the lining of the knee joint. Surgical treatment may be successful when the actual cause of the cyst is addressed. Otherwise, the cyst can come back again Source: http://www.eorthopod.com/public/patient_education/6521/popliteal_cysts.html You may need to have this assessed by an orthopedic surgeon.
Avatar f tn There is mild intermediate intensity intrasubstance signal within the menisci but no discrete tear evident extending to an articular surface. The medial and lateral compartment hyaline cartilage appears preserved. With the knee in extension there is lateral patellar tilt with approximate 3mm lateral patellar subluxation. Probably mild fibrillation hyaline cartilage patellofemoral compartment predominantly lateral. Patellar retinacula are intact. Marrow signal is normal.
Avatar f tn 40 year old male here in an otherwise good relationship that on occasion messes around with other guys as stress relief. I know, stupid. Specifically 3 or 4 in last year or so. The encounters never include anything but mutual masturbation and unprotected oral. Mainly me receiving the oral ( usually light) until I ejaculate into their mouth. With one I performed very light oral ( shaft-ball lick) and very light annalingus giving and receiving.
