knee pain when bending and kneeling

I do not but am a physical therapist that had a patient experiencing this recently. She had a 2 year history of chronic headaches with no diagnosis despite multiple scans. She was sent to me for thigh muscle strain that appeared the morning after sitting crosslegged on the floor painting. Pain initially was in her left thigh and groin then progressed to involve the right thigh and groin.

Hi, the artificial knee allows a person to do ordinary daily activities with less pain. It does not restore the same level of function that the person had before the damage to the knee joint began. The knee will not bend as far as it did before you developed knee problems, but the surgery will allow you to stand and walk for longer periods without pain. After surgery, you may be allowed to resume activities such as golfing, riding a bike, swimming, walking for exercise, dancing etc.

s only brought on by direct pressure to the patella when kneeling with my knee at 90 degrees, and the resulting pain is in the lateral aspect of the knee, proximal to the patella.

Since that day I can not kneel down on my right knee whithout this horrible pain. When not kneeling there is no noticeable pain. What could it be??

With constant nagging pain and swelling. And problems kneeling,squatting,bending, and just going up and down stairs. I saw another orthopedic doctor today. He suggests microfracture surgery on my knee. But that entails 6 weeks on crutches, and 3-6 months of PT afterwards. I need to think about that!

t show up when I poke or touch my knee, I can duplicate the pain when my knee is slightly bent and I press below the knee cap and rub to the painward side while still pressing. I almost thought it was a chipped bone at first, but now (because of the above) I think it is a collection of fluid and the pain is from the fluid trying to migrate to an area of muscle or tissue that doesn't want to separate. Some of you may be aware of how powerful hydraulic pressure can be.

you may have some torn cartilage. I have knee problems and have had 3 surgeries. when i bend my knee it pops and grinds. My leg from the knee down goes numb from time to time. You may even have a pinched nerve. but i am not a doctor so the best thing to do would be go to a orthopedic.

SO I AM HAVING PRETTY EXTREME PAIN ONLY WHEN KNEEING ON LEFT KNEE--USUALLY DOMINATE KNEE THAT I ALWAYS KNEE ON WITH ALL MY WIEGHT ON FIRST. DOESNT HURT TO WALK ON OR BEND OR ANY OTHER MOTION. RECENTLY I CAN FEEL SENSATIONS FROM A LITTLE BELOW MY KNEE LIKE "PINS AND NEEDLES" BUT VERY SLIGHT. I CAN LIGHTLY TOUCH BELOW CENTER OF KNEE AND FEEL SAME PAIN WITH VERY LITTLE PRESSURE LIKE A SLIGHT RUB.

however I now find that when I kneel on my right knee I get a needle like pain - similar to the feeling of a plaster being ripped off my knee on right side. I can run, jump etc but kneeling is excruciating. Can anyone advise if this is temporary - that some rest might fix or could I have damaged something requiring further investigation. Part of my knee is also numb since fall and have throbbing sensation but no swelling.

It is usually associated with significant pain when kneeling and can cause stiffness and pain with walking. Also, in contrast to problems within the knee joint, the range of motion of the knee is frequently preserved. Consult a orthopedician for further assistance. Best.

In my job, I am on my knees frequently. A few weeks ago I started to notice a pain in my right knee when kneeling. The pain is localized, kind of like a pin *****-- feels more like it is in the skin as opposed to being a bone or joint issue. The pain is not illicited by any manual pressure, only the kneeling, which I do often enough that this has become very frustrating. Your advice in this matter would be very well appreciated. Thanks!

appeared without being aware, pain outside of right knee ONLY when when forget and kneel down quickly. It feels like what I imaging gout to feel like - kneeling on glass - but without the swelling. Ice and heat don't help. Kneeling on a soft, spongy surface is fine if positioned carefully. Very sharp pain but leaves quickl, especially if rubbed. Been sitting with my knee bent at computer so slightly aware of it but normally not. Nothing in the threads to date sounds like the problem.

When I walk my legs are fine but when I kneel down on my right leg it feels like my right knee the muscle in there is like stretching this a stinging pain it's on the right side of my knee any suggestions on what I could do if it's serious like a torn muscle but it only happens when I kneel down walking is fine it's like just putting pressure on the knee kneeling down

i am constantly on my feet and struggle getting up from kneeling. i have pain when playing sport and when im relaxing. my knee does constantly pop and click. anyone got any ideas that would help me would be great.

Yesterday I was photographing a wedding and I kneeled down and as soon as my knee hit the ground I had a severe pain just below my knee. It felt like I was kneeling right on my bone and something was stabbing it. I got up and seemed okay. About 30 minutes later just below my knee started to throb and swell. The knee xray showed no fracture or other issue - the reason for another doctor ordering xrays was that I am unable to put any direct weight on the knee (kneel on it) and it graunches and carries on when moving it, though this causes no pain. er and swimmer I am pretty fit and active in every other way, and do not experience any other pain in any other knee position or activity with my knees. There is no pain inside my knee joint or to the sides or behind my knees. When I press my fingers on my knee I can feel that is a bit grissly in small areas with some sensitivity. Any ideas on the reason would be appreciated.

I was kneeling down, not in a akward position and when I got up I heard I pop in my right knee, it was very painful, the pain went away after a few minutes, I have had a few pops before but never loud or very painful and the pain always went away, but not this time, This time after about a week my knee is still sore and I'm afraid to kneel down because there is still a small pain and discomrfort and feels like is going to happen again. Hello, I've just started having pain on the outside of my right knee I was playing boo with my son when I first felt a sharp pain, over the week each time I kneel down I feel a hard throbbing pain, when rubbed it throbs and also when bent, when the leg is straight it's fine! My knee clicks now and again and when I feel the knee cap it feels like it's grinding, does anyone have any ideas what this could be, my partner seems to think it could be my cartilage!
