Avatar m tn hello, I play volleyball, which is hard on the knees from diving to jumping all the time... a few months ago I dove and hit my knee on the groung very hard. My knee pain went away and it recently has come back. It feels like a knife goes into my knee right below my knee cap every time i jump or put a lot of pressure on it like trying to stand up. I have been icing it, but it won't go away....Does anyone 1. Know what is wrong? or 2. Know how to fix it?
Avatar m tn I was recently playing volleyball about 2 weeks ago and i was diving for a ball hitting the same part of my knee on the ground (lateral side of knee). Ever since the 3rd time hitting it on the ground i noticed swelling in the spot and a little bit of pain, then 2 weeks later i am playing again and still landing on the same part of my knee, instantly after my knee feels stiff and very painful to move and walk.
Avatar n tn Hurt my knee 2 weeks before my junior high school volleyball tryouts (august of 2009)... was told i had a partial tear in my patellar tendon in the right knee & the left one was starting to do the same. He instructed me to sit out for 6 weeks to give time to heal or i might end up rupturing it. Sat out for my 6 weeks, then went back to playing and finishing my season. After the season was over (november of 2009), still had very bad knee pain...
Avatar m tn I was playing volleyball and jumped and landed on my knee, the first few days my knee hurt too bad to walk on. It has been about a month now and I can walk with no problem but if I turn or back up or go down or up hills it still hurts sometimes. It also feels like something is moving when I turn sometime .Could this be serious? Should I see a doctor?
Avatar f tn I am 17 years old and I've been having chronic knee pain for almost 5 years now. It started in my left knee and for the past 2 years it has been in both of my knees. I am an athlete and have played basketball, volleyball, and softball in the past 5 years and am currently just playing softball. My knee click and pop and lock in place on a daily basis. I have gotten multiple x rays and MRIs and they have all come back with nothing obviously wrong.
722310 tn?1234762137 My husband has been suffering from severe knee pain after playing gym volleyball. This pain has peristed for more than 3 months now. Our biggest problem is, we do not have health insurance and we are living on his unemployment and my job, which isn't nearly enough for our large family of 7. We know he needs to be checked out, however we are concerned that it will become a pre-existing condiditon, when he is able to get insurance.
Avatar n tn A few months ago, I started to have back pain, in my lower spine, and horrible knee pain. I can still handle the back pain cause it stops after 30 minutes of training, and returnes after it (I don't care as long as I can play), but knee pain in my left knee is horrible. Yesterday I jumped and felt as like someone is stabbing me with a knife in my knee. I couldn't stand on my left leg for 10 minutes, and after that it still hurts a bit, but I can walk nicely today.
Avatar n tn You may experience a loud, painful pop when the ligament is first injured, followed by swelling of the knee. The pain and swelling of an ACL injury can last for several weeks. Short-term treatment can relieve the pain and inflammation, but it takes months for an ACL injury to heal completely. Initial treatment for an ACL injury aims to reduce pain and swelling in the knee, regain normal joint movement and strengthen the muscles around the knee.
1524304 tn?1326396974 So, I've had a question. Recently I was kneeling, both knees on the floor, and upon getting up my right knee suddenly had a loud pop/crack and sharp pain. For a while I couldn't move my knee and I waited out for pain to lessen. It did after about 30 minutes. But following days I found that if I move it wrong or bend too much, or put weight on it while bent, it kinda locks. After a moment or two, though, it passes and I can straighten it again.
Avatar m tn 200 lbs, healthy (besides a previous knee surgery), strong athletic 16 year old. During may of 2009, I was recieving a dull, heavy chest pain and pain when i twisted my torso clockwise and counterclockwise. Also i was recieving pain when i extended my chest outward. So i got looked at by a doctor and they did an EKG and an echocardiogram. I don't know if the symptoms are accounted for by the diagnosis, but they said i had had a mild enlargement/inflation of the aortic root.

Avatar n tn Following ACL surgery, the patient enters a rehabilitation program to restore strength, stability, and range of motion to the knee. Recovery time varies, with a period from about 6 to 9 months representing the average People heal differently from one another and a variety of factors influence recovery, including the presence of associated injury or disease and the amount of time the patient has to commit to a physical therapy program.
Avatar n tn She now is complaining of knee and ankle pain. Even the slightest of activity (1 hr of volleyball, a long car ride, dancing to one song....can cause her great pain in her back. She gets sad that she won't be able to do things like she used to and feels bad that frequently is telling us about her back pain. I am at a loss at what to do to help her. She is going to see a Pediatric Rheumotolist at the end of the month but she doesn't exhibit some of the typical signs of arthritis.....

Avatar f tn I felt great for two years and then I started having bone on bone sensation in the back of my kneecap and anterior knee pain out of the blue while I played soccer. In April of 09 I had it scoped after trying P.T. and all sorts of injections like Prolo therapy, steroid injections and Hyalgan, <sp??. This surgery just cleared out some loose bodies and they cleaned up my meniscus. I returned to soccer after six weeks as my Dr. stated I could and the pain was the exact same.

Avatar f tn When playing volleyball, an opponent landed squarely on top of my foot. I have mild pain and a popping feeling between big toe and next toe, about 2" from the bottom of the toes. I can walk, but it forces me to limp. No discoloration, no swelling (or so little I can't tell). This was 2 days ago. I played with no pain right afterwards. Went home, no pain. Woke up the next morning with the pain and the popping sensation. What treatment(s) are needed?
