Avatar f tn Wow. I do understand what you are saying and I wish I could get to a point where I do not need pain killers anymore. In fact I'm working on it. I don't understand how you cna be so judgemental about my pain. Are you not a healthcare provider? Did you loose your empathy? You can't just put every type of patient into a pile and deal with them accordingly. There are a lot of different aspects of patients that need to be taken into account.

915456 tn?1243163721 Along with my back pain, legs going numb and falling from time to time, breast are so tender, joint pain, face going numb sometimes, plus to many others to mention, I now have pain that starts from my ankle and goes up the side of my leg to my knee, neck pain that hurts so bad it is hard to drive, tmj, ear pain so bad and the pain medication I am on will not make a dent in the pain. I am tired of pain meds. Last year I was told I had lyme. Doc.
1378884 tn?1315505845 When first diagnosed I could not walk up a flight of stairs due to the intense general knee pain. Now it comes back intermittently for a day or two then it subsides but does not fully go away. I have also felt like I cannot stretch my tendons in my legs enough even after warming them up and stretching for 30 min. I am 55 and have done many bad things to my knees over the years but nothing like this has happened before.
Avatar f tn anti-inflammatory medication, physical therapy 2x week for 5 months, exercises at home (or bike or swim) and cortisone injection. PT was extensive but worsened the pain: I did taping, dry needling, and ultrasound with hot and cold but all those PT things really hurt and worsened the pain. I don’t do any heavy exercises like squats but pain occurs from walking, resting, stairs, driving. I am seeing a second opinion tomorrow who does specialize in lateral release.
975514 tn?1324997938 I suffer from tendonitis in my shoulder and arm as well. I have pain that lingers around my body from joint to joint too. one day it will be in my knee, the next day it will be in my hip. I have sciatica. I also have a lot of pain in my neck and upper back and I suffer from constant migraines. Plus I've been diagnosed with the dreaded Fibromyassa. I find that chronic use of opiates makes my pain worse, and really intensifies my pain so to speak.
Avatar m tn Almost a year and a half ago my boyfriend started to experience chronic knee pain. In February of last year he had a knee surgery to remove a hematoma and clotted blood and dead tissue. Since that surgery his knee has only gotten worse. He has been to every specialist you can think of and has been on extremely high amounts of pain medication with no relief.
Avatar f tn I feel pain all the way up to my hip and back down to my ankle while I sit with it bent. My knee throbs and I get random outbursts of pain and sometimes it even keeps me up at night. My doctor put me on pain meds but they're not working. And I tried physio for 3 weeks and it's not working. He said we could try a cortisone shot under my knee cap but it will not fix the problem just take away pain? Any idea on what's wrong??
Avatar f tn Treatment of Osteoarthritis consists of exercise, manual therapy, lifestyle modification, medication and other interventions to alleviate pain. If these fail then you go for surgery. Joint replacement surgery may be required. Individuals with very painful OA joints may require surgery such as fragment removal, repositioning bones, or fusing bone to increase stability and reduce pain.
Avatar f tn The pain can be due to reactive arthritis. One thing you should notice is that when the elbow pain comes—does the knee pain decrease? If yes, then this is migratory polyarthritis and this can be due to Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, rheumatic fever, SLE, Lyme’s disease, sarcoidosis, Whipple’s disease, Henoch-Schnlein Purpura, and bacterial endocarditis. Hashimotos thyroidits is another possibility. It can also be fibromyalgia and or chronic fatigue syndrome.

Avatar f tn Found out on Friday there is actually something wrong with my right knee that could be causing the back pain (the back pain was in my back and sending pain down my right leg). They are doing surgery on Wednesday because back in '09 I had a lateral release in my right leg and my band in my knee healed and grew back really thick, so he is going back in to thin the band up. He said he believe it is what is causing all my pain and etc. If it makes any sense..
Avatar m tn I had a meniscus injury almost 2years ago a tear in left knee due to gym exercise while doing thighs exercise and from that time I was exercising my legs and their was no more pain after nearly 8 month , just yesterday I did the same movement once again and I hearted a pop in the same knee and a little pain with a bending movement in the same place after examining it by my self by pressing on the spot is it possible that the tear had happened once again ...
Avatar f tn s an intense pain centered in my knee. It is in the front of my leg and in the soft points on my knee. Sometimes in the back but not so often. Sometimes it's in my calf on the back. It makes me limp and have to sit down pretty often. I cannot spend much time on my feet or else my feet fall asleep. I had Xrays and nothing showed up. My knee does not have fluid. That's why it gets swollen, right? My legs have no fractrures (I had fallen on a cement pad 3 years ago).
Avatar f tn I have had a really painful right knee under the knee cap,its gradually becoming worse when I kneel down or go up and downstairs(particular going upstairs) I have to hold the rail going up as the pain is really bad.my knee does give way at times and if I turn awkwardly I get a severe shooting pain in my knee.I have seen my doc who is sending me to a specialist and arranged physio.what is a knee wash and what does it entail ,she also thinks my menisca is damaged.what treatment can I expect?
4817742 tn?1359564366 However, you need to give rest to the joint for extended period of time and use anti-inflammatory pain medication. Application of ice pack also reduces inflammation and keeping the leg elevated keeps the pressure off the knee. You can take up swimming as an exercise if you have to lose weight as this will put the pressure off your knee while allowing you to exercise. How long it will take the knee to settle down cannot be said.
Avatar m tn And i am surprised of few facts that makes people totally helpless. Knee pain, back pain these are very common today but what is the proper medication of this problem? Thanks for the answers in advance.
Avatar n tn About a year ago the pain from my feet started to move up my legs into a throbbing, aching, cold type of pain that is relieved by heat and time and pain medication (darvocet). it is better when i am moving and increases when my legs get cold or when i sit or lay to the point of tears or if i am on my feet for prolonged periods of time. it is bilateral, intermittent and has progressed to mid thigh.
Avatar f tn I generally apply this treatment daily, each time the knee feels even better…I know it’s not going to remedy the situation 100%, but has made my life much better.. http://www.diagnose-me.com/treat/T350155.html http://www.edgarcayce.org/th/tharchiv/therapies/castor1.html Castor Oil Pack. Avatar f tn I have had pain in my right knee under the knee cap.its gradually getting worse and kneeling or going up and downstairs(particularly going upstairs ) causes quite severe pain .it has given way at times as well.I've seen my doc who is sending me for physio and to see a specialist where she said he will probably have to perform a knee wash .does anyone know what might case this pain is and what a knee wash is?
Avatar n tn Almost a year ago the physician and I agreed to having a total knee replacement done thinking that the pain would subside. That was a joke! The pain is still just as bad as day one. I go back to the doctor in April and it doesn't look like it will be good news for him. Now I will have to have surgery on the Left knee joint. I will wait for that though. I don't know what I am looking for in treatment now or if any!
Avatar n tn And have tried everything he has asked me too. The only thing that has worked for my knee pain that allows me to be pain free ,is pain pills, but I am afraid to ask him for them because of the immediate labeling(which even you are having as you read this) that comes from someone asking for a strong pain medication. Stay off the knee! I can’t, I have no desire to be stationary until I am dead.Limit your activities> I already do, no running, jumping, or hard impact sports.
Avatar n tn I used to go to the limit when it came to pushing my body when I was younger (16-22), and now at 25 I am starting to feel it. I feel it due to powerliftingin my right knee and lower back (deadlifts especially), and football/baseball, throwing shoulder.
