Avatar m tn - I have undergone ACL reconstruction surgery of right knee on 21st May,2010. Even after my surgery I feel pain when I bend my knee or when I walk. The pain is distributed over the entire crossection of the knee. But recently on 12th feb,2012 my right knee has started paining again. I am not able to walk. Even if I try to walk, I feel instability. My leg becomes stiff when I keep it straight for around 30 min.

159619 tn?1707018272 When I tore my right MCL, I never got fluid in the knee and the level of pain is getting considerably worse on the new injury from my experience with the previous injury on my right knee. Would it help to have the fluid drained from my left knee to releive the pain? Also, what else could I have damaged that would be causing fluid on the knee? Any suggestions on how to function in the mean time would also be greatly appreciated, the pain is getting unbearable.
676032 tn?1315674063 Can someone please give me some information on MCL (medial collateral ligament) damage... i did some damage to my left knee last saturday, physio says it MCL and cartilage damage. The only thing I had done to my knee was an x-ray. Do I not need an MRI or something to determine the damage?? This pain is not even funny anymore!!! Its on the inside of my leg and also out through my patella...
Avatar f tn It has pain on the I side mcl area and I am unable to bend it past 90° and I am unable to completely straightin it out. It feels pretty stable.

Avatar n tn In the beginning of august I had a bad fall. I was put in a knee splint. After an MRI it looks like I have a grade 3 MCL tear. Prior to that, I've had habitual dislocation of the patella. Today, the doctor said I might have never had a connected MCL since my knee would "travel" with every step (and I could walk and function completely normally, before the injury).
Avatar f tn Ive recieved some physio since and the pain subsided in those areas but i have been left with chronic pain above my knee in my quadricep area above my kneecap. The muscle is completely bulged with my leg straightened and is proving very painful to walk on and is also painful at rest too with a warm feeling in it but not to the touch. I'd always pointed this out to them but it was pretty much ignored by the consultant. The physio said it maybe the tendon but left it at that.
Avatar m tn it really hurts and burns. I can sit without pain I can stand without pain,I can bend my leg without pain, I can do straight leg lifts without pain. It is just walking that causes the pain and burning. I have been using ice since I first injured it and have been taking ibuprofen and saw my family Doc today and she said it is mildly swollen and is sending me for x-ray tomorrow and then to see my Ortho Doc asap. Any Ideas as to what I mught have done??? Thanks ...
587778 tn?1261397118 Well, in the last week, the are between my patella and thigh began to hurt badly, along the outside of my knee hurts all the way up into my thigh, on the inside the tenderness has progressed, also on the inside of my knee midway up my inner thigh I have a severe line of pain that I can also palpate. My knee and thigh are noticeably larger than the other other one. I am in so much pain.
Avatar n tn Ten years ago I had MCL, ACL, and PCL reconstruction. I was required to wear a brace for a long time and afterwards I noticed there was a huge dent in my thigh and a small lump. I am overweight and have extremely fatty thighs and it seemed like it only affected that fatty part of my leg. The muscle seemed ok. They told me they took out some of my muscle from my thigh to reconstruct my ligaments so I just thought it was fat damage because of that.
Avatar m tn I have constant knee pain, swelling and my knee gives away. The pain is primarily on the inner side of the knee. I have had several kneesurgeries, one in the last 6months that was supposed to fix all these issues. I have been told its just arthritis, however after surgery i was told no signs of arhritis. a physical therapist told me i have a loose mcl. what to do?
Avatar m tn I have adhered to the post op exercise regime and I am free from sticks and supports. However I do suffer pain on the inside of my knee whilst walking which may or may not be soft tissue and/or MCL damage or scarring. I suppose I need to give it time although do get a bit disheartened at times as I would not have expected such pain at this stage.
Avatar f tn I few days ago I forgot how to use my legs, and it has left me with some major pain and swelling in my left knee. I went to slide into a base and my knee went completely the wrong way. I didn’t have any of the stereotypical initial knee injury symptoms such as a “pop” or even really major pain until about 20 minutes after the injury. It’s been over 4 days, and while it’s improved, I still can’t do much of anything at all. I can bear weight, but any twists of the knee is an absolute no no.
957414 tn?1246670050 I went down right away and felt pain in my left knee. Both sides of my knee were a little bit swollen, and I could not bend my knee all the way back. In addition, if I put pressure on the sides of my knee, it hurts and this was after swelling went down. I was able to bear my full weight on my injuried leg without pain at all. I have since then put on a brace to limit my knee movement with icing and elevation.
Avatar m tn There is marrow edema/ bone contusion in the lateral tibial condyle. There is grade II sprain of LCL and grade I sprain of MCL. There are collections in and around the knee joint as described. Now I have no pain while walking, feeling slight instability. pain while bending my knee or while i sit on ground. can not bend my knee. Its almost a month now. My queries are 1. Can I avoid arthroscopic surgery in my case. 2. and a Second opinion?
Avatar f tn I was playing soccer when i went into a tackle my Body got twisted around but my foot and lower leg stayed still. I felt a massive pain through my knee on the inside of my knee and heard and felt a snap. My team mates imediatly came running over because they said they heard a snap sound to and that it looked nasty when i did it. My coach put ice on it and strapped it up but i can only put a tiny amount of weight on it before my knee collapses.
Avatar m tn Hi! About 9 days ago I got a MCL (medial ligament) sprain on my left knee, doing sports, i'm in my mid 30s. Minor swelling and some pain to knee. The knee started feeling around 80% better about 3 days ago. I wore knee brace every day even to sleep, 2 days ago I changed to a more comfortable brace with those metal hinges on sides, also slept with it. My current issue/question, is 2 days ago I woke up with a swollen ankle and pain when putting leg down to walk.
Avatar f tn The MCL is intact. LATERAL COMPARTMENT: Allowing for motion artifact, there is fraying to the lateral meniscal posterior horn free edge, and the posterior root is diminutive. Superficial chondral fibrillation is present at the posterior meniscal surface of the tibial plateau without subchondral remodeling. Intact lateral collateral ligament complex and structures of the posterolateral corner. INTERCONDYLAR NOTCH: The anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments are intact.
Avatar m tn I play ice hockey, and over the last 5 years I have had recurring knee issues with my right knee. My right knee clicks and pops a lot when I walk. Now, tha doesn't generally cause pain, but any time this problem does occur, it is accompanied by related issues with it. For example, if I try to get on my knees (happens a lot in hockey) I have a lot of trouble and pain getting up off my right knee. I feel like the shin moves inward.
Avatar f tn There was no pop or immediate/major swelling, but there was pain on the inside of the knee. I had a few episodes of the knee giving out and swelling eventually increased so 2 days after I went to an orthopedic doctor. He confirmed my suspicion that I had an MCL sprain, but said I may have also injured my ACL and meniscus.
Avatar f tn can anyone tell me if they have had platelet injections in their knee for arthritis? I have a really bad, arthritic knee and DO NOT want to have it replaced. I already did that on the other knee and regret it.I have had every treatment known including physicla therapy and still have issues with pain and not being able to walk for more than 10 minutes at a time. Any info about this would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn I never felt anything give or pop. On Tuesday, I woke up with severe knee pain. It feels really unstable and hurts when I walk.
Avatar f tn the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), medial collateral ligament (MCL), and the medial meniscus.
