The knees are at the stage where my doctor says the only option is knee replacement surgery, and that I should let him know when the pain is too bad to tolerate. So, any walking is painful, as is driving, getting out of a chair, etc. Even worse is the lower back pain. If I stand or walk for more than 3-5 minutes, I develop back spasms so bad that I feel nauseous, get sweaty and even feel sort of panicky. The only thing that shows in x-rays for my lower back is the arthritis.
I have knee pain and swelling that comes and goes. I have been to an Orthopedic and have had x-rays and MRI. Nothing specific was noted in the x-ray and scan. The Dr suggested orthoscopic surgery to see what he might be able to do. I have not had the surgery.
He also suggested I may have osteoarthritis. The pain will come with walking, sometimes very quickly and sometimes not much at all.

I was told that I have patella feminel pain, I am use to having trouble kneeling and walking after a shift at work and and my knee being weak and the knee cap moving around, but lately even when I am not doing anything it feels as though something is push up on my knee cap, and extremely painful and I cant get the pain to go away. At time it feels as though something is being wedged under my knee cap.
Now unable to put full weight on Lt leg.No swelling behind knee/light swelling above front of knee cap.Pain when bending knee /more pain when bending with Lt toes pointed toward the outside.The snap seemed to come from behind and to the left end of the joint.Soreness/tightness remain. you feel pain at the side and in center of knee, the swelling increases day by day, limit your tendency to bend the knee, you may feel sharp pain while bending your knee and walking. The pain come and go anytime and anywhere.

I have pain behind my knee and my leg is swollen in the calf. I was checked for blood clot and it was negative. I feel heat coming out of my knee when I place an ice pack on it. It warms the ice pack quickly. My thigh is swollen too, but all the pain is in my knee. It hurts to touch the bones in my knee. My ankles are a little swollen and also the calf on the other leg. I have had a meniscus tear and arthritis in one knee and baker's cyst in the other.
Scared I have symptoms of hiv,a long list. Warts/rash on knee that is very uncommon for me. Abdominal pain lasting 2 months that showed nothing in a abdominal ctscan and only chemical gastritis from upper endoscopy. Somscared it has to be hiv. Also some tingling in random places on foot and knee. Finally some numbness in left arm near under arm that might be lymph nodes. I am a worrier but this stomach thing can't just be worrying. over the last 3 weeks I have been having alot of pain to the lateral side of my left knee. Mainly when I am standing from being in a squatted position. The pain is so bad I have to hold on to something and slowly straighten up. I can walk just fine. It hurts when I bend my calf to my thigh when I am shaving. I have been taking alot of IBU and applying ice. I finally went to see the doctor and they what to do an mri...Any suggestion?
no an anal fissure will not cause your symptoms of knee pain and swelling and it's not likely to be the cause of your other pains either.

i break out with at least 1 hive per day on my chest,goes away about an hour and also have back pain with knee hip joints hurting which fades away then comes back.also on that day feb 15, i believed i ate some potato chips 3 hours before incident.do these symptoms have anything to do with hiv and do you think eating the chips put me at risk and that i need to test.
Look up orthopedic surgeons in your area and make an appointment today. The longer you put it off, the worse your knee will get. It's possible you could have torn a ligament in your knee. Don't push your knee by doing any hard activities until you see the surgeon. Look up "knee pain symptoms" on Yahoo and see if you can figure out what part of your knee is being affected. You could also look up knee strengthening exercises on the Internet.
But then up and pain subsided. Possibly knee cap moved back in place. Now then in morning knee lil swollen, pain when walking, no bending or squatting which would lead my proffessional opinion to be you over streched tendons, possibly a slight tear. Use an ice pack for 2 days twice a day 30 mins each. No more weights till Friday. If everything returns to normal leave the squats out for an additional week. However by this Friday if knee is still the same, go see family doctor.
I had a total left knee replacement Dec.18th.2007 and was wondering if having constant pain on the inside part of the knee is normal.Sometimes I also get a sharp pain there.Lately I've also been getting some pain shooting down the shin bone.This is new wasn't having that before my replacement.Also does everyones knee pop all the time.Mine does anytime the leg is moved I can hear it when I walk and actually with any movement.
Last year all I did was swing my legs out of bed and stand up when extreme pain shot through my knee. For the next 2 weeks I was limping and the pain was pretty severe. It started 5 years ago with pain going up and down the stairs. I saw an orthopedic and he told me it was overuse. Just 5 months ago I went to see him again and he ran an MRI and an X-ray. The X-ray showed nothing and the MRI showed thinning of the cartilage.
