Avatar n tn i play about 2 or more hours at a time, everything is fine the first hr or hour and a half. After that the side of my knee begins to hurt and after a while i cant put any weight on it. My lateral movement is almost completely gone and then i can barely walk. Afterwards that whole night im in severe pain, worse after sitting for a bit and trying to stand up. Up until today everytime that would happen the next day my knee would be perfectly fine, this time it stayed sore for longer than ususal.

1961313 tn?1326290364 I have problems with my knees, just general stiffness-but one day I had to get down on my right knee and the pain was extreme,it wasn't necessarily in the knee but to the right side of the knee,it felt like the skin was splitting into,I look and the skin looked fine,so I don't know if it's the tendon or the muscle what ever it is,is very painful,in fact I can't get down on my knees any longer

Avatar n tn I will be sleeping on my side and wake with excruciating pain, as if an ice pick is driving through the side of my knee (interior side) and into the joint. I cannot straighten or bend my knee at this point without using my hands to manually move my leg. I am taking Aleve to no avail. I am writing in hope for some thoughts or ideas as to what I might be dealing with. Thank you in advance for your time.
Avatar m tn The location of the knee pain can be a useful guide to the cause of pain. Pain on the outer side of the knee is usually related to meniscal tears, injuries to the collateral ligaments, and even to arthritis. Ligament injury causes pain to worsen on walking, bending and stretching the knee. Meniscii too if torn or injured, result in joint instability—that is you are not confident the knee joint will take your weight. Often the person feels a popping sensation on moving the joint.
1961313 tn?1326290364 Hi! Pain on either sides of the knee is usually related to meniscal tears, injuries to the collateral ligaments, and even to arthritis. So on medial side it will be due to medial meniscal tear. It can also be tendinitis due to inflammation of tendon at the knee joint. You will need X-rays and MRIs of the knee to find the exact. Treatment will follow correct diagnosis. Do consult an orthopedic specialist at the earliest.
Avatar n tn Ever since then I cannot knee on a certain part of that knee. If I do I get a sharp, burning, stinging pain that quickly subsides once off the knee. I can walk and run on it fine, and have not experienced any swelling or other problems. I cannot feel any abnormalities on the outside. The pain is on top of the knee. Even pushing on a certain area it is is sensitive. What do you think?
Avatar f tn ( but i have a lot of pain in my knee, and my hip today. I sometimes get this pain that radiates from my ankles, up to my knee and right now i just feel it in my knee, its a very uncomfortable feeling.
Avatar m tn I was putting in padded flooring in my home gym for about 4 hours. Since then I've had pain in my right knee only when kneeling on my right knee (like when tying shoes). It's to the side of the knee and feels like something is being stretched laterally at first, before I get a sharp pain that feels like it's stinging/tingly. It is not completely on the side of my knee, but in the softer area to the side of my knee cap.
Avatar m tn I'm experiencing a sharp knee pain (left knee), to the side of joint (left side) when i kneel flush on my knee cap. I've had water on the knee (right) many years ago which only occurred when i flew long distance. When i press my knee cap, no pain, nor to the side, only seems to be on hard surfaces with my full weight. Any thoughts, much appreciated.
Avatar f tn m standing it feels like something is crawling on the side of my knee. What do you think this could be?
Avatar f tn I need advice on what to do about the pain in my knee. I got into a small accident while biking last weekend. While biking along the main stretch of town, I collided with the side of a pick-up truck backing out between two buildings. He couldn't see me and I didn't see him until it was too late. Neither one of us was going very fast and there wasn't even any damage to my clothes from where I hit the pavement, so I figured the bumps and bruises were going to be the end of it.
Avatar f tn My husband had an embolic stroke in September, 2005. His left side was affected. A couple of months ago his left leg, behind the knee. has been aching, and won't relax to the point where he can't sit comfortably or sleep. The pain is increasing to the point now where his leg feels weak when he stands on it and walks. I was trying to rub it last night, and it felt like there was a knot there. Suggestions?
Avatar m tn Recently I have also experienced minimal hip pain. While walking, the area along the medial side of the knee also hurts. The entire area feels like it is full of sand to touch. At times it feels like my knee is buzzing or growling and shifting - even while it is stationary. I experience many different kinds of pain in many different areas of the knee, everything from the type of pain that accompanies a bruise to pinching, burning, and stinging.

Avatar n tn ) had resolved somewhat and I was weight bearing w/a limp, but NOW it has moved to the RIGHT side of the left knee. If I lie down and try to bend the knee, drawing it up to my body it feels very strange, as if there is cotton all around the inside of the knee. It feels swollen, too. Can ANYONE tell me what's going on? The 2nd physician wants to do arthroscopic, BUT I can't take the time off work, and I have a bad history of not waking up from anesthesia...

Avatar m tn Pain in the front portion of the knee can be caused by bursitis (inflammation of the lining of the joint, possible due to injury while playing), arthritis, or injury to the patella cartilage (front portion of the knee). Pain on either sides of the knee is usually related to meniscal tears, injuries to the collateral ligaments, and even to arthritis. You will need X-rays and MRIs of the knee to find the exact. Treatment will follow correct diagnosis.
