Avatar n tn I like to stay active so I try to go walking and running in town. Halfway back from my walk it hurt unbelievably bad. My hips would not stop popping. I noticed that if I even push down on my hips it feels extremely painful. This only happens when I walk, run, or even ride horse. I don't have any clue of whats causing it and can't decide if I need to go to the doctor for it. Please help!
Avatar n tn He was walking normally in the morning and had his breakfast then we he tried to stand up and walk he felt pain in his knee and below and had to crawl. He has no fever and there is no swelling or bruise on his leg. he can bend his knee normally. We are very worried. please tell us what to do.
1470596 tn?1286713970 I had this problem and realised thanks to my physio, that I overpronated when running. This can cause knee problems which is why I needed to buy shoes with arch support which stops the foot rolling inwards. For walking you can buy orthotic insoles but I would not recommend running with these. I use Adistar Salvations to run. A good running shop will check you for pronation before you buy. Also this might seem obvious but are you stretching before and after running.

Avatar f tn My knee is stiff and painful today underneath the knee cap where the pes anserine tendon inserts and to the inside of the knee cap (medially). I also have pain in the middle of the back of the knee, is especially sharp if I push into it. In terms of comfort and daily activities, I am having no trouble walking except that my knee will get a little swollen (very slight) and stiff if I walk a lot.
Avatar m tn during routine walking/running,my left knee gives clicking sounds(but theseare painless, the same which got miniscus removed 5 years back ) is it harming knee?
Avatar f tn The location of the knee pain can be a useful guide to the cause of pain. Pain in the front portion of the knee can be caused by bursitis (inflammation of the lining of the joint, possible due to injury while playing), arthritis, or injury to the patella cartilage (front portion of the knee). Pain on either sides of the knee is usually related to meniscal tears, injuries to the collateral ligaments, and even to arthritis.
Avatar f tn I have been running 3 miles a day fro 3x a week, until recently because i have been experiencing really aching pain in my knee and if i keep running it becomes really painful like i have torn something, and sometimes my knee gives way too, if i stop running and walk the pain wears off for a while, i have had an 6-8 week rest, but it still hurts when i try to bend my knee, it pulls really tight and hurts, haven`t tried running fully yet, sometimes the knee hurts really bad , it hurts in the back
Avatar f tn Since high school, after running track for 4 yrs, (7 yrs ago) I hav had knee pain. In the last couple of years it has gotten worse, radiating to my hip. It happens when I've been standing or walking too long, or if I'm cold. Could this be a trauma induced osteoarthritis?
Avatar f tn I've been recently diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy and myopathy. I have worst weakness in my thighs and biceps. The Rt leg has affected my walk at times, which is the weakest. It feels like my knee (the issue is not my knee) is locked and hyper extended when I walk at times. This comes and goes without much warning. The faster I work, the worst it gets and the slower my speed the easier it gets. Sometimes I can't even walk fast even if I try.
Avatar m tn If the pain comes on bending the knee as in walking step or running downhill or down a flight of stairs, then it could be due to Patellofemoral syndrome or runners knee. This happens due to mal-alignment of the knee cap on bending the knee (and hence any imaging study has to be taken with the knee bent), injury to the knee (you may have sustained it in past), flat feet, over tight or over lax muscles around the knee joint. All these aspects will have to be investigated by your doctor.
Avatar m tn Recently I have also experienced minimal hip pain. While walking, the area along the medial side of the knee also hurts. The entire area feels like it is full of sand to touch. At times it feels like my knee is buzzing or growling and shifting - even while it is stationary. I experience many different kinds of pain in many different areas of the knee, everything from the type of pain that accompanies a bruise to pinching, burning, and stinging.
Avatar f tn Recently I’ve been running a lot, yesterday I did an 8 mile run today I only did 5 miles I’ve been having Sever pain on both knees I can’t seem to lay down sideways on either side because I get this horrible pain when I try to, sleeping with both knees facing up I don’t have any pain, walking is hard because I can’t seem to bend them without it hurting I don’t know if it’s just soreness or if I should seek medical help
Avatar f tn This time around, i have been having a very sharp pain under my knee, inside the knee cap and on the side of my knee (laterally) Its like its locking, catching and occurs mostly when i walk, i cannot straighten the knee fully. It also happens either after walking awhile like 5-10 miniutes or right away. Sometimes i dont have a pain occurrence at all until the end of the day after overuse. Did I tear something this time hurting my knee?

Avatar f tn Pain in the back of knee when walking up and down steps. Also buckling and giving in while walking at times. I am a competitive gymnasts. The pain is right where you bend your knee in the back What could this be?
Avatar m tn for the last four years I have been experiencing sharp pain on the outside of my right knee starting usually after running about 3 miles. no pain when I am not running. It comes on gradually but I eventually need to stop running. The pain is located in the vicinity of the lateral meniscus and is most intense when my foot is off the ground and my leg moving forward. I have had no major injury to this knee. What is going on? is there anything I can do?
Avatar f tn Depending on the severity of these conditions, you may have pain only while running or when you are walking as well. Please consult an orthopedic specialist and avoid running until this is diagnosed and treated. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
Avatar f tn Older woman here, developed knee pain 2 months ago. It thankfully went away, but then about a week ago started hurting again, this time in different location, just to the left and medial of my knee cap. Every step is excruciating, only way to describe it. Guess I have meniscus tear? But has anyone experienced this type of horrible pain with Every Step? If so did you find a remedy?
Avatar n tn About two years ago I was diagnosed with patellar tendonitis as a result of running to much too soon. Now I am trying to get back into walking and running, I've started walking on a treadmill 4 miles a day (no running) and at the same time trying to stretch and strengthen my quads. I do wall squats and I push it, but don't bend the knee too much. The activity aggrivates the condition. My knee feels week, but no pain.
Avatar n tn prior to the surgery i had throbbing knee pain in posterior right knee. they tried cortisone shots - 2nd one helped but wore off quickly. even after TKR i STILL have this pain. Cold weather intensifies the overall pain. i still have on going knee pain in general and doc says takes sometmes ONE YEAR before see difference. When they did the TKR they did clean up some scar tissue (had 4 prior procedures before having TKR).
Avatar f tn However, yesterday when I was running, I suddenly started getting sharp stabbing pain only on the outside of my right knee. My knee is NOT swollen at all, I can easily bend my knee and pushing all over it causes no pain. It only stabs when I'm jogging on that leg. Today it was way worse. It's not bad when I walk, but it's over the top when I run. The hip/upper femur pain is constantly present, but worse when I sit.
Avatar n tn Ever since then I cannot knee on a certain part of that knee. If I do I get a sharp, burning, stinging pain that quickly subsides once off the knee. I can walk and run on it fine, and have not experienced any swelling or other problems. I cannot feel any abnormalities on the outside. The pain is on top of the knee. Even pushing on a certain area it is is sensitive. What do you think?
