Avatar f tn I’m 52, have had left leg pain (hip area down to ankle) left hip is painful to touch, aching in left leg, pain in knee and stiffness in left knee ( low mobility in knee ). Doctor said my reflexes are overactive. I’ve had MRI cervical, MRI lumbar ( nothing conclusive ). Also having bladder issues. Recurring UTIs or what feels like UTI, bladder control issues and urinary frequency.
Avatar m tn I am not having any pain, just tingling or radiating in the left leg. My left leg went out on me for a few seconds while walking a few day ago, but I am ok now. The tingling is more prominent when walking or standing for a log period of time. I was diognosed with arthritis in the lower back several years ago but I do not have any pain. I also had lower back surgery to L4 & 5 disk in 1984. Do you think it is Arthritis related. Maybe the injury agrivated the nerve?

Avatar m tn If it is radiating down her back, to her buttock and down to the knee, this is usually sciatica. It could be caused by the bulging disc. Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done for sciatica. I have accupuncture done for my sciatica. It really does help, although not everyone receives the same result. You can also look in to spinal decompression to help remove the stress from the bulging disc and hopefully put it back in its place.
Avatar f tn Hey all, I know it's been a while, I decided to take time off from my health even though my health hasn't exactly agreed to take a break from me! ;) I am writing tonight because I have been experience g a rather uncomfortable problem that became severe last night. Let's just say...my whole ignore it and it will go away tactic didn't work.
Avatar f tn ll usually last a few days and go away. sometimes it is accompanied by knee pain (i dislocated my knee cap in high school about 17 yrs ago) And sometimes there is a radiating feeling in my inner thigh. sometimes I have all these symptoms at once or sometimes 1 or 2. a bit before it all started happening I noticed the veins behind my need were getting darker but not bulging. none of the areas feel warm and no redness. on the inside of both knees I have a large cluster of spider veins.
Avatar f tn Sciatica is a nerve that gets pinched or tightened through injury and tight muscles that causes a radiating pain that shoots down the leg from the hip. I causes some pain in the lower back also, but can usually be treated with accurate stretching. I would recommend to see a sports therapist to help guide you in the right direction for treatment.
Avatar f tn Hey lady's I have a horrible cramp in my left butt cheek down my leg does this have anything to do with pregnancy?
Avatar n tn The pain of sciatica is typically felt from the low back to behind the thigh and radiating down below the knee. The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the body and begins from nerve roots in the lumbar spinal cord in the low back and extends through the buttock area to send nerve endings down the lower limb. Sciatica is most commonly a result of a disc herniation directly pressing on the nerve, any cause of irritation or inflammation of this nerve can reproduce the symptoms of sciatica.
Avatar n tn You don't mention how old you are, but there is a possibility of an ovarian cyst. Maybe you could check into that. I'm sure several things could cause that radiating pain. Hopefully someone else will post their thoughts. Good luck finding the answer.
Avatar m tn My knee issues were on the left leg and this pain is only on the right leg/hip area
Avatar m tn ve woken up in the middle of the night in tears from the knee pain, during an episode of this leg pain. I sometimes feel this leg pain to a lesser degree, or only for a day, other than during these "episodes". I've had constant, at times quite severe, pain in my left neck for the past five years, and pain in my left chest, almost in my armpit, for the past 6 months. It is consuming my life, after countless doctors visits I've lost all faith in the medical system.
Avatar m tn Common symptoms of prolapsed disc could be paralysis of muscles, pain radiating to the arms or legs, leg pain and numbness, tingling, or weakness. Warning symptoms can include loss of control of the bladder function, numbness/pain at genital areas, paralysis & spasticity of both the legs. In addition, if you are suffering continuous weakness and notice reduced strength of muscle bulk in leg, please arrange an appointment with a neurologist right away.
Avatar n tn I have done this before with no problems when I was in High school but after standing for roughly 30 minutes I was in a lot of pain at my knee and radiating down my lower leg. I recently suffered a nasty fall of a horse and landed almost totally on my right knee. I have also been fallen on (by the horse) four times over the last 10 or so years the mpst recent one coming a week after the nasty fall.
Avatar f tn Hi Herniated disc at the level of L4-5 and L5-S1 can lead to a a sharp, burning, stabbing pain radiating down the posterior or lateral aspect of the leg, to below the knee. Pain can be accompanied by numbness and tingling. Motor deficits may also be seen. The diagnosis of such conditions can be done by a MRI scan and hence you should see a specialist for the same. In the meantime, you should take rest and avoid any heavy work which might worsen the symptoms.
Avatar f tn Hi again everyone, my leg is killing me, its really swollen today, and i have radiating pain from my ankles to my hip. My pain has definitely got worse since i had surgery, not in my knee but everywhere else. I just hate playing the waiting game, because thats what my doctor makes me do, and im not able to take pain meds, so i have to deal with it everyday. It's very irratating, and it's hard to stay positive and happy when all im able to do everyday is sit in my bed and watch tv.
Avatar f tn It's been more than two months since my last injection. So I don't think it's going to get better. The injections took away pretty much all my pain for the 3 weeks I was getting them and then for about 2 weeks after that. Then it just came right back. It's not really a shooting pain it's more of a stabbing pain in one spot. The only part of my leg that aches is my knee.
Avatar m tn it is typically felt from the low back to behind the thigh and radiating down below the knee. It is most commonly caused due to a herniated disc or adjacent bone, tumor, muscle irritating the nerve. treatment options include addressing the underlying cause for the symptoms, medications to relieve pain and inflammation and relax muscles, physical therapy. Surgical options for persisting sciatica includes nerve decompression at the lower spine level.
Avatar f tn I get pains(hot stabbing) in my left ovarian region...this pain runs down to about the left knee as well as it hurting in the lower lefthand region of my back. What causes this? Has anyone ever heard of this, as it goes away in about a half hour to hour. It will have you doubled over an sweating while praying for relief. I did notice if you squeeze hard on your side really hard it will give you temporary a different sort of pain that is a little more manageable...
Avatar f tn This problem has been slowly worsening for the past 5 years or so. I have had radiating pain down my buttocks and legs and in my feet before but now I have a strange sensation I haven't felt. I was leaning over a counter at work looking at a computer screen when suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my left buttock, then it felt sore and has continued to feel sore for a few days. It is worse when I am sitting and I also feel some light numbness and perhaps a burning feeling.
Avatar n tn Usually occurs when changing direction during walking. The pain radiates down the leg through the buttocks down outside of the thighs and ends at behind the knee joint and the this pain is constant and medium through out the day. The pain lasts for 7~10 days and disappears. I suppose this is due to wrong sleeping position. I have this problem from past 3~4 years. Should I seek medical help?
Avatar m tn I cannot say what is causing your pain...pain in the buttock radiating down to the knee is typical sciatic pain. Doctors call this "radiculopathy," and its usually caused by pressure on the root nerves of L4-S1. Pain down to the ankle may indicate something different. Please contact your surgeon and report your symptoms. He/she best knows your case and can act using that knowledge. All we can offer here is opinion. Best wishes.
703031 tn?1398963307 The pain extends from the outside of my hip and leg down to the knee. I get this from time to time and it goes away in a day or two after using heat and avoiding sleeping on that side. This started about a year ago. This time the pain is refusing to go away. It went on about a week when I decided to call the doctor, and it was another week before I could get in to see them. While waiting to see the doc, I decided to see a chiropractor.
