Hello, Im 22 yrears old and Ive been Taking Pain pills for like almost 3yrs now. It Started Off from an injury and now its a daily Use. If i dont take any im irritated and feeling sick! So Its a Must for every day! It actually Gets me going for my days! But now since ive been taking them i wanna stop but i cant! I get way to sick! So Idk what to do! So If you can help me out please i would really appreciate it!
Wow!! I sure hope the truckers' insurance company will pay you for a life time of pain that seems to be inevitable for you!??? I do not know of anything for your pain other than some kind of intraveious med that can be worn and dispense the med that way. I do not even know what they are called so excuse my clumbness describing it. A lady I worked with many years ago wore one all the time, as she had also been in an auto accident.
I hope others will come on soon to offer their advice.
HAVING RECENT PAIN IN KNEE & WHEN WALKING. DIAGNOSED WITH SPURS. DR. SAID TO GET CORTIZONE SHOT, WHICH I HEARD CAN DEGENERATE THE AREA OR BONES. RESENTLY ON IBUPROPHEN 800 MG./3 TIMES A DAY...DOES NOT WORK. HELP! ALSO USING BIOFREEZE, PAIN RELIEVING SPRAY WITH ILEX.
I also massage my knee and move my knee cap around in tiny circles to unpinch nerves.
When I lay on my right side , bend my knee 45% and try to lift it straight up , severe pain on the outside of the knee. Absolutely can not lift it. I told the doctor this after one month, he just said it ould get better with time. 13 months later no difference same intense pain. Knee bends 90% and works fine except when I try tp privot inward to the right. If I walk up stairs and turn the knee inward at the same time it will collapse under me in pain.
I think the first step in getting myself clean is to find a way to manage my pain. I think my fear in getting clean is that I will be in so much pain and can't function. I literally can't sit up in the morning until I take a pill. I had back surgery for this very reason, so I didn't have to live off pills and be in pain. My surgery did just that. It's not that I don't want it bad enough because I do, I just don't wanna be miserable in pain all the time.
I have been to alot of doctors and all of them say I have Arthritis. My rheumotologist was really funny. His comments were, if you are in pain SIT and when you feel good WALK.
Actually that is what I do. I go in the pool 3X a week and stay at home the rest of the time. I am 73 years old and have had both knee's replaced. One knee still gives me pain and the dr says it's probably nerve damage and nothing can be done.
m now 32). The pain started below my knee, and is now accompanied with pain shooting down my shin. It also now feels as if something from the top of my knee is pulling as well. I am hurting, and I don't know what else to do. I am also taking Naperson (sp?), which is not helping. I can't take anything more than that, because pain meds knock me on my butt & I don't want that. Please help with other suggestions while I await my doctors appointment.
I do still have pain, but honestly it seems worse or exaggerated with the pills. Or I am overestimating the pain. It doesn't hurt too bad now. More achy, haven't taken any pills for 16 hours. Thank you so much for taking th time to reply. Have a wonderful day. I appreciate everything.
I was given propoxyphene for lesser pain and Hydrocodone if the pain is greater. I only take the pain pills if the pain is really bad. I haven't taken any pain pills in the last 3 days. As for my therapy I am doing the exercises I was told to do like the (straight leg raises and knee extension) I can bend my knee really well so I do have the flexaiblity .
i started taking chondroitin glucosomine about 3 weeks ago. i do NOT want to take pain pills. the naprosyn, motrin has taken it's toll on my stomach. my doc gave me celebrex last week, this couldn't even touch the pain. i went back to aspirin. is there anything i can do? my 3rd injection is tomorrow and i want to ask for a copy of my medical records to get a 2nd opinion. Am i being unreasonable? i am not anxious to have surgery, and my friends think it's great that my dr.
I am 25 years old and here are my physical issues that cause pain: cysts in my left ankle, previous knee injury/surgery, 'nerve' pain where my quadriceps tendon was removed, 3 herniated thoracic discs, 2 herniated lumbar discs, an 'undiagnosed' right lower quadrant abdominal pain that's been going on fot the past 4 years.
I have been told that I need knee replacements... have bone on bone in fact it is scheduled for one knee
I feel that I weigh to much (like around 300) and have pains that are not part of the knee problem so the question is ...
I CAN'T GET UP FROM A SITTING POSTION... and have dont' have pain from knees unless I do a lot of walking but every time I try to stand up from a sitting positon .. I just can't do it with out help or something to push me up...
I HAD KNEE REPLACEMENT SURGERY 9 WEEKS AGO. THE PAIN IS SO INTENSE. THE ONLY TIME IT SEEMS NOT TO HURT IS IF I CAN SLEEP.
I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO TAKE ANY PILLS ALL THE TIME FOR PAIN. I JUST AM BESIDE MYSELF. I ASKED THE DR AT MY POST OP AND HE STATES THIS IS NORMAL.. MY KNEE ALSO CLICKS SOMETIMES. HE STATES THIS IS NORMAL TOO.

doesn't really sound like you're abusing your meds. with one per day if you can keep it at that. i have RA, after i quit the pills and stuck to RA meds i don't have any pain. pain meds can make your pain worse.
is MRSA the staph infection you are referring to?
I broke my right knee and almost 8 years ago, breaking my left knee caused me to become very dependent on pain meds - percs/patches. Since my right knee is broken, the docs are literally asking me what I want for pain meds. I'm not going to tell an outrageous stories about self-control...I'm in some pretty bad pain and the percs (what I requested) are helping. I am totally aware of the dangers of becoming dependent again so I am forcing myself to take motrin w/e possible.

My dog has a bad knee in the back left.Our vet says he needs surgery.But We can't afford it.I am on disablity and my son is my cargiver.And the state doesn't pay much.But he is sick with liver and kidney trouble.And he can't do regular work right now. Our vet gave us rimdyl but it puts him to sleep all the time and he wouldn't eat or drink.She said we could get more if we wanted at 5 pills for $8.00.
Is there anything we can give him that isn't by prescripcion?
I posted the other day about getting some kind of a taper plan but got no help because it's against forum policy , so here I am still taking 8-10 pills a day and don't know what else to try. I have talked to my Dr.
l was really scarred too but having someone who knows about your addiction and will hold the pills helps alot. Are you having a knee replacement? Knee surgery can be a bit more intense because the knee is complex and you will need therapy. Many people need meds for awhile after surgery. Ice will help alot after surgery so use it as much as possible. You can also plan to just take them before therapy after the first few days. Best of luck to you. Try not to be too scarred.
I have pain on the inner side of my left knee (as well as pain in my right knee that is supposedly because of a cyst but it's a different pain than in my left knee). The pain I get feels like it's in the bone.. I'll get sudden - completely random - pangs of sharp pain in my knee and then my knee gives out and I can't walk on it. Any pressure at all kills it.
Then after months of suffering and the doctor not knowing what it was, I did some research online and I came across some postings from other people having the same problem and that took K supplements and actually were able to be better. Well I got my mom her K pills and the pain in the knee was mostly gone, temporarily. After like a month or so the pain came back but this time in the neck, lasted like a couple of weeks like that and then now it is on her upper arms.
Needless to say I had manipulation done a week ago, and after going back to P.T. 2 days later, I am in extreme pain, knee is quite swollen and need to take my pain pills almost every 3- 4 hours. I am unable to sleep through the night without getting up to take a pain pill. I am back to work full time for the past two weeks and was doing fine until the manipulation. Now I can barely get through the day. Is this to be expected after the manipulation? I feel I am going backwards in my recovery.
well after Detox, and 30+ days of sobriety, I found that the closer I got to the real pain of the arthritic knee, and lack of cushion, a man of only 36 years, could not function, I looked and looked for a non narcotic alternative, and viola the introduced01 me to tramadol, 300MGs a day. not that I dug further, and am finding out more I'm pissed, the pain I made myself go through, now after being on it for a week and a half I feel screwed, what options do I have?
I went through Physical Therapy and my pain was very minimal (have always had slight knee pain) for about two months before I started having the problems again. Turns out I have Tendonitis again, but no one can answer why I keep getting it(I am not an athlete I am 21 years old and I work in a retail store in Customer Service and my latest visit was to an Orthopedic Specialist) and what else I can do besides Physical Therapy to stop these issues.
