s a sharp shooting electric like pain on the outside of the left knee almost dead even with the top outside corner of my knee cap. If I touch the area and rub it no pain it's actually numb but if I run my finger lightly across the bottom of my knee cap the pain is hooting from there to the out side mention spot. And by lightly I mean just light enough to feel my skin with my finger. Please any info would help it affects my work and daily life. Thank you for your time and any ideas and info.
Hello, I've just started having pain on the outside of my right knee I was playing boo with my son when I first felt a sharp pain, over the week each time I kneel down I feel a hard throbbing pain, when rubbed it throbs and also when bent, when the leg is straight it's fine! My knee clicks now and again and when I feel the knee cap it feels like it's grinding, does anyone have any ideas what this could be, my partner seems to think it could be my cartilage!

t understand why my knee is giving out on the outside and hurting behnd my knee on the outside if the tear is on the outter rim of the inside of my knee. Is this common? Also right above my knee cap really hurts, like something is tugging at it. I haven't been able to walk and am extremely frustrated that this Dr. is not taking an aggressive approach on me knee since it has been almost 3 months since the injury now, and nothing has changed- if anything it is getting worse.
I am not experiencing any pain unless I twist my knee. There is a small bulge on the outside of my knee cap. No popping noising when I bend my knee, it is hard to totally bend due to tightness from the swelling. I can put weight on it, but having to be really careful walking due to any twisting motion causing pain. Mostly I'm concerned about the one area that bulges out because there's almost no other swelling.
But from yesterday I am having sharp pain in the outside portion of my left knee cap. It is fine if the knee is at rest or folded, but everytime I try to straighten my leg or walk, I feel the pain in the knee. While walking if I keep my knee bent a little, the pain lessens.

He is concerned when he takes his braces off of a swelling/bump on the lower outside part of his knee cap. My question is has anyone dealt with this specific type of locking before specifically from preforming a baseball like slide like this. The pain is located on the outside of the knee almost feels like where the it band is located on the hinge of the joint. I need to be able to preform this slide and I cannot and have not been able to for the past 2 tears. Anyone ever dealt with something like this before thank you for any help it is greatly appreciated.
But no use, then had advised me to wear knee cap for few days. I was feeling better with knee cap. I removed it after 25 days, it was little better for 2 days, then again the pain is back. After few days, went to orthopedic, he said no problems and advised me to do some exercises. Then also no use.

I was told that I have patella feminel pain, I am use to having trouble kneeling and walking after a shift at work and and my knee being weak and the knee cap moving around, but lately even when I am not doing anything it feels as though something is push up on my knee cap, and extremely painful and I cant get the pain to go away. Im 31 years old lost 50 lb back down to 130lb well i have been having this pain in my right knee on the outside of it. the pain feels like a sharp burning pain only when i put pressure on it.. I have lost weight and its still happening. its been like this for about two+ years. My knee clicks at time.. when i wake up in the morning its feels like there is water trapped around my knee cap and swollen alittle. then about 45 mins after i get up the water and swellening goes down.
I am experiencing random jolting electrifying knee pain on the top of my knee cap. There is no swelling, no redness. The pain comes most often when Im sleeping and it's so painful I scream. there is no definitive test for fibro - they do tests to rule out other diseases - is the pain in your knee or on the outside of the leg at your knee or the inside of the leg near your knee and have they checked for osteoarthritis - you said behind the knee - do you mean behind the patella (knee cap) or at the back of your leg behind the knee - try to be very precise when telling the doctor where exactly the pain is coming from - i dont know much about ms but i know pain comes with it - i belie

t put it back this time. Drs will not fix my issue because my caps dislocate to the inside of my knee, instead of the normal outside. Done physical therapy 5 times with no results. Only thing that works for pain is acupuncture. Question is: anyone else have this problem, if so what did you do to fix it?
Prepatellar bursitis, patellar subluxation,knee cap dislocation all can lead to pain directly over the knee cap.Rest,antiinflammatory medications, application of ice to the knee all are very important for reducing the symptoms. If the symptoms persist or are severe it is best to see an orthopaedician.I hope it helps.
