When I walk my legs are fine but when I kneel down on my right leg it feels like my right knee the muscle in there is like stretching this a stinging pain it's on the right side of my knee any suggestions on what I could do if it's serious like a torn muscle but it only happens when I kneel down walking is fine it's like just putting pressure on the knee kneeling down
If I kneel on my left knee I get a sharp pain like my knee is kneeling on a pin that is digging into my knee. It is a sharp enough pain for me to get right back up off it and switch to my other knee. I work in a convenience store and have to kneel down to get into certain places so I feel this pain every time I kneel on my left knee. The pain is the bottom of my knee cap on the left side of my left knee.
I have knee pain in my right knee when I kneel down on it.About a year ago the same knee for some reason unknown to me got very swollen & had to use crutches for about a week. Anyway when I kneel down it is like kneeling on a tack. Then it has a sensation of a rug burn to the touch. After about five times of this happening I looked more closely. On the right lower outer edge of knee cap it gets a swell pocket. It does not swell up the entire knee just this oval like shaped pocket.
SO I AM HAVING PRETTY EXTREME PAIN ONLY WHEN KNEEING ON LEFT KNEE--USUALLY DOMINATE KNEE THAT I ALWAYS KNEE ON WITH ALL MY WIEGHT ON FIRST. DOESNT HURT TO WALK ON OR BEND OR ANY OTHER MOTION. RECENTLY I CAN FEEL SENSATIONS FROM A LITTLE BELOW MY KNEE LIKE "PINS AND NEEDLES" BUT VERY SLIGHT. I CAN LIGHTLY TOUCH BELOW CENTER OF KNEE AND FEEL SAME PAIN WITH VERY LITTLE PRESSURE LIKE A SLIGHT RUB.
When I kneel it feels like a pebble in my knee.
In my job, I am on my knees frequently. A few weeks ago I started to notice a pain in my right knee when kneeling. The pain is localized, kind of like a pin *****-- feels more like it is in the skin as opposed to being a bone or joint issue. The pain is not illicited by any manual pressure, only the kneeling, which I do often enough that this has become very frustrating. Your advice in this matter would be very well appreciated. Thanks!

I fell Christmas 2015 running for a train and fell on a large concrete step straight onto my right knee cap. It was cut and badly bruised at the time but over a year later I can't kneel on that area of my knee without it hurting badly I'd say 9/10 pain rating. When I put pressure on it with my fingers it also hurts. The location of the pain is under my knee cap. I've recently started running which mostly just makes the area stiff.
however I now find that when I kneel on my right knee I get a needle like pain - similar to the feeling of a plaster being ripped off my knee on right side. I can run, jump etc but kneeling is excruciating. Can anyone advise if this is temporary - that some rest might fix or could I have damaged something requiring further investigation. Part of my knee is also numb since fall and have throbbing sensation but no swelling.
er and swimmer I am pretty fit and active in every other way, and do not experience any other pain in any other knee position or activity with my knees. There is no pain inside my knee joint or to the sides or behind my knees. When I press my fingers on my knee I can feel that is a bit grissly in small areas with some sensitivity. Any ideas on the reason would be appreciated.
Got all the pills and drained right knee. If its not better he has to cut.
Previous hx of pre patellar bursitis to R knee in October - ongoing pain since, not any worse, no swelling, no redness, note had abscess at time and burst itself, treated with oral antibiotics, xray in october of R knee showed acute bursitis, but also benign healing fibrous cortical defect of the posteromedial femoral metaphysis, patient states unable to exercise properly, struggles to kneel on her knee, good flexion, no fevers, no rash, - given f2f appt to review knee, ?
If the pain comes on bending the knee, then it could be due to Patellofemoral syndrome or runners knee. This happens due to mal-alignment of the knee cap on bending the knee (and hence any imaging study has to be taken with the knee bent), injury to the knee (you may have sustained while playing), flat feet, over tight or over lax muscles around the knee joint.
Hi, I have pain in the tibia of my left leg, which I think is below the knee cap. The pain started when I was 18, after I got an injury during a basketball game. Now I'm 20 and I still feel the pain only when I engage in physical activity. What's wrong with me. Could these by osgood schlatters disease?
I'm experiencing a sharp knee pain (left knee), to the side of joint (left side) when i kneel flush on my knee cap.
I've had water on the knee (right) many years ago which only occurred when i flew long distance.
When i press my knee cap, no pain, nor to the side, only seems to be on hard surfaces with my full weight.

It is a constant pain when any weight is bearing on it but if i kneel or bend the leg with weight on it, the pain is like a muscle pull and extremely painful.
When walking there is no pain at all.
I am confused because i have not injured or sprained the leg at all.
I do suffer from sciatica now and again in my back and left leg and the pain is totally different.
I have tried taking anti-inflammatory tablets and this does not ease the pain.
Should I be worried and see a doctor.
I was putting in padded flooring in my home gym for about 4 hours. Since then I've had pain in my right knee only when kneeling on my right knee (like when tying shoes). It's to the side of the knee and feels like something is being stretched laterally at first, before I get a sharp pain that feels like it's stinging/tingly. It is not completely on the side of my knee, but in the softer area to the side of my knee cap.
I was kneeling down, not in a akward position and when I got up I heard I pop in my right knee, it was very painful, the pain went away after a few minutes, I have had a few pops before but never loud or very painful and the pain always went away, but not this time, This time after about a week my knee is still sore and I'm afraid to kneel down because there is still a small pain and discomrfort and feels like is going to happen again.
Do I need to see a doctor?
I'm 21 and have had trouble with my knees since 2002. I have been to 3 orthopedic surgeons, have had 3 mri's done as well as xrays. I've been through physical therapy twice. The doctors still haven't given me a reason or condition as to what's causing my pain. My problem is a constant aching pain in both knees, numbness and tingling when i bend past 90 degrees. I can't kneel directly on my kneecap. I'm in pain every day.
First a sting, burning then turns numb for weeks, sometimes months. Lots of times in my knees. I will kneel on my knee and feel the burning pain. Like I pin he'd a nerve. I have have 4 spots now. On the top of my big toe, my knee, back of my left shoulder and top of my right hand. Went to a specialist once and they stuck pins in my skin for a nerve test and said everthing was fine.. this has gone on for years now.
i was running around the house and jumped over a vacuum then landed on my right knee on to our carpet but our carpet is 1cm thick and has concrete under it. my knee was pain full when i moved it for two days then i had a bruse on the right of my knee cap down to the top of my calf muscle. now it doesn't hurt and i can run and function like normal intill i kneel then there is a sharp pain.
Ankle went and I fell onto my left knee. People with me were more worried about my knee but most pain was in the ankle at the time so I was completely unconcerned by the knee. I got up and walked to my meeting, then went to a doctor who briefly glanced at my knee and gave it the all clear, and diagnosed a sprain in my ankle.

Several weeks ago I fell at work and injured my left knee. I had an X-ray that showed no broken bones and an MRI that showed no tears, but I keep telling the ortho pedic surgeon that I feel something move in my knee, not sure if it's the bone at the top or something else, but I feel it really move when I kneel down. He says it's 2 muscles rubbing together from inflammation and prescribed me meloxicam, but it doesn't feel like that. It feels like something is moving when I kneel.
