I have been told that I need knee replacements... have bone on bone in fact it is scheduled for one knee
I feel that I weigh to much (like around 300) and have pains that are not part of the knee problem so the question is ...
I CAN'T GET UP FROM A SITTING POSTION... and have dont' have pain from knees unless I do a lot of walking but every time I try to stand up from a sitting positon .. I just can't do it with out help or something to push me up...
SO I AM HAVING PRETTY EXTREME PAIN ONLY WHEN KNEEING ON LEFT KNEE--USUALLY DOMINATE KNEE THAT I ALWAYS KNEE ON WITH ALL MY WIEGHT ON FIRST. DOESNT HURT TO WALK ON OR BEND OR ANY OTHER MOTION. RECENTLY I CAN FEEL SENSATIONS FROM A LITTLE BELOW MY KNEE LIKE "PINS AND NEEDLES" BUT VERY SLIGHT. I CAN LIGHTLY TOUCH BELOW CENTER OF KNEE AND FEEL SAME PAIN WITH VERY LITTLE PRESSURE LIKE A SLIGHT RUB.
I tried to stop a fall and in doing so I twisted my left leg and got a severe pain in my lower cheek on my *** that went down to my knee. I saw black and starts for a brief second or two. It did cause me to cry. Now I have terrible aching in my cheek and it also goes to my knee. What can possibly be wrong. I hate to go to the doctor if all he's going yo do is prescribe pain killers and muscle relaxers. Not into meds.
QUITE A FEW MONTHS AGO I STARTED GETTING ACHES IN BOTH LEGS, I PUT IT DOWN TO THE MENOPAUSE, ANYWAY 6 WEEKS AGO THE PAINS SEEMED TO BE GETTING WORSE I HOPED IT WOULD GO AWAY, 3 WEEKS AGO I NOTICED MY LEFT KNEE WAS PAINFUL AND SWOLLEN, MY DOCTOR SENT ME FOR AN XRAY I HAD GOT MODERATE OSTEOARTHRITIS OF MY KNEE, UNFORTUNATELY AT THE MOMENT I HAVE TO HOLD ONTO SOMETHING TO GET UP OUT OF A CHAIR AND A STRUGGLE TO CLIMB STAIRS, WHILST SITTING I GET PAIN IN OTHER LEG I AM ONLY 55 BUT I FEEL ABOUT 70, I
It is still sore and a little swollen. The pain is on the top left (inside) where the quad connects to the knee (when bent it feels like the top of the bone to the inside of the knee). It hurts to bend my knee after sitting for a long period of time and sometimes need to help it bend. To straighten out the knee doesn't hurt but when I tighten my quad, it is a little sore. There is some bruising on the inner part of the quad. I am hoping it is just a bad bruise and nothing serious.
since 2 months ago my mom suffred from pain in knee joint .....she cant use to stand after sitting ......she use to take pain killers as well but thers not any knida progress .... she didnt get over weighted as if i say it may b the reason of her pain. shez 55 yrs. so tell me any treatment any medication or excersice or woteva u know ......waiting !!!!!

the way the doctor that does the injections said to me, that the more I worked my knee and the nature of my job that I may need further synvisc injections possiblly every 6 months. Which to me was quite concerning. Considering the fact a number of GPs and other professionals have said it's only a band aid really for my left knee.
Which made me wonder, how much further damage I could be doing to my knee joint after having synvisc?
His wife asked his physician why not give him a pain killer that can reduce his agony to discomfort. She was told that they have given him all of the pain killers that they could. My question is this, how in 2009 can we not have a drug that can make you pain free or at leat reduce the pain to uncomfortabe?
Hi, please get yourself investigated (MRI), avoid sitting with legs hanging down and use cushion below legs during sleep. Tie crepe bandage over knee. Take pain killers (anti inflammatory drugs) regularly and consult orthopedic surgeon as soon as possible as this could be meniscus or ligament injury.
m now 32). The pain started below my knee, and is now accompanied with pain shooting down my shin. It also now feels as if something from the top of my knee is pulling as well. I am hurting, and I don't know what else to do. I am also taking Naperson (sp?), which is not helping. I can't take anything more than that, because pain meds knock me on my butt & I don't want that. Please help with other suggestions while I await my doctors appointment.

i been taken pain killers from the year 2000 all due to a knee injury i had back in college playing football for the college team, i had two knee op's on it and got pain killers for the pain, after about a year n half my knee was better and fit enough to play football again but because i been taken pain killers i felt great the buzz was out of this world, i try to stop taken pain killers before and it had worked for about 6 months then they was s death in the family which made me start
HOWEVER over the past few weeks I am having so much pain. My knee will twist and the pain is mainly directly right below my knee cap then will radiate throughout my knee and ache for a while. The pain I get when it twists is almost a stretched stabbing type pain if that makes sense. It feels almost unstable. I have swelling that comes and goes. I still have discoloring almost like a bruising that comes and goes. Most nights the pain will keep me awake.
One week later I experienced stiff neck and after a week my right knee was inflamed with pain and restricted movement (diarrhoea stopped at this moment). I consulted a doctor and he gave me antibiotics and pain killers. He told me its rheumatoid arthritis. I got some relief but after a week swollen knee and stiff neck worsened again and this time with pain in every part of my body. I could hardly get out of my bed in the morning.
