pain

Avatar m tn I work in a convenience store and have to kneel down to get into certain places so I feel this pain every time I kneel on my left knee. The pain is the bottom of my knee cap on the left side of my left knee. I did karate for years and I do not know if it is an injury I didn't know I had that is just acting up now.
1308443 tn?1302693321 I'm and 18 year old girl and have undiagnosed knee, hip and back problems. When I'm doing stances in karate sometimes one or both knees will just not bend past some random point. I can't bend them and my instructor can't. He got down and pulled pretty hard on my lower leg and my knee didn't move at all. It doesn't hurt when it happens it is just frustrating. Any ideas on what might be going on would be great and very much appreciated.
1308443 tn?1302693321 They said I had flat feet and gave me orthotics. The second orthopedic specialist said I had adolescent anterior knee pain and there was nothing he could do for me. A few weeks ago I went to the rheumatologist and he diagnosed me with bursitis. He started me on some anti-inflamitories but I am still having lots of swelling and tons of pain. Next time I go in he wants to drain my knees and inject some cortisone. Is the swelling likely to come back and will the pain come back?
Avatar f tn This week I have felt an ache in my shin after walking, then since Karate this past Thursday I have had a constant pain in my shin. this eases a little with rest but does not completely go. my left ankle and shin is at least 1 inch wider than the right (tape measure round limb). Pain becomes worse with weight bearing activity,I find myself limping and if I put light pressure on my shin and lift my foot up there is a creaking feeling/vibration in the shin area?
Avatar m tn oh, I should add it was operated on then to fix the hematoma.
Avatar f tn I'm 28 years old, currently very active at the gym (kickboxing) and watching my diet. I've been having constant muscle twitching under my left knee towards my shin for about two weeks now. It's a sharp twitch, but with no pain. I can feel the twitch, but you can't see it. It happens when I walk, put force on my left leg or move it a certain way. There is no tingling or numbing, just the constant snapping twitch when active.
Avatar m tn I never experienced this problem before. I use to participate in karate lessons which requires me to have a certain stance and my legs were fine. No one in my family also suffers from this. Any ideas or help what this might be? Thanks.
1308443 tn?1302693321 I am doing exercise I found online and wearing knee braces during karate. Nothing seems to help. The doctors keep telling me sorry just wait I out take 4 advil when they hurt. That doesn't help at all. Is there something else I should do or suggest to the doctors?
Avatar n tn My 8 year old son was admitted to casualty 4 weeks ago unable to walk describing pain in his ankle and knee. Following a blood test and initial observation he was treated for reactive arthritis. 4 days later following a subsequent bloodtest, mri scan and observation he was diagnosed with osteomyelitis with the source of the infection thought to be either an earlier infected cut in his heel (3 months earlier treated with antibiotics prescribed by our gp) or excema he has around his ankle.
1746651 tn?1311528836 When we tucked him in tonight, he accidentally bumped his knee on my elbow and cried, out right tears and curled up in pain. I have never seen him in such agony. (Not even when he broke his wrist a year ago, he didn't shed one tear). I am going to try and get him back into the specialist, but does anyone have any insight? Is it normal for sclerotic bones to be so tender??
1308443 tn?1302693321 I know that karate is probably a bad idea but I tape it and try not to hit with it. Any idea on what to do to help it heal?
1308443 tn?1302693321 2 years ago I started having knee problems. I have had an MRI and lots of x rays. I have seen an orthopedic surgeon twice. He told me that the cartilage on the back of my knee caps is soft and there is nothing he could do for me. He said it was common in teen girls. My knees don't seem to be getting better like he told me they would. Is there anything I can do to help them? I can't remember what my knees look like not swollen. I feel helpless.
Avatar f tn Just recently I started having pain in my ribs. Feels like soreness :( what could be causing this?
Avatar f tn Well she won't need karate classes cause she seems to know how to do all the jabs and kicks that can be taught. Feels that way anyways. Anyone else get kicked or jab bad enough to make u wanna puke???
5245618 tn?1365687749 The pain in my right shoulder has been slowly increasing. I have been playing volleyball alot lately and I have two softball games coming up this week and i am worried that i am going to hurt myself. Any advice?
480331 tn?1310403529 I never thought anything of it, until an occupational therapist mentioned that it is very bad for their hip and knee joints. She said it was also a sensory issue. I researched on the internet, and the consensus is mixed. Half agree that it's harmful, others say it is simply easier for them to balance themselves that way while sitting. Now that it's been brought to my attention, I tell him to sit differently, but he always goes back in the W position. Has anyone experienced this??
1378884 tn?1315505845 I have broken both knee caps in the past, (car accident and Karate Class) had a meniscus tear repaired, which made left knee much worse. Hands and feet are fine. Usually wake up fine ( as fine as a 55 year old can be) and by the end of day or frequent use (walking/weight lifting) I am in extreme pain and no flexibility. My Doc had me try some Celebrex which took the edge off the pain and allowed me to be more active but I was far from pain free. Going in for an MRI.
Avatar n tn I was having dinner with my husband at a restaurant and while eating I sneezed several times. During the sneezing cycles I felt pain in both my arms going down to my hands, the pain in the lower extremeties of my lower arms was so severe I had to stop eating. I felt very weak for about an hour. This has happened to me before but it was milder. Is this normal to happen or does it have something to do with the heart? What should I do? Thank you...
Avatar f tn I didn't feel any movements until I was 19 weeks & at first it was just flutters & then now its like karate chops lol
1961313 tn?1326290364 I have problems with my knees, just general stiffness-but one day I had to get down on my right knee and the pain was extreme,it wasn't necessarily in the knee but to the right side of the knee,it felt like the skin was splitting into,I look and the skin looked fine,so I don't know if it's the tendon or the muscle what ever it is,is very painful,in fact I can't get down on my knees any longer
Avatar n tn Well, we all go through back pain in the morning weather were 10 or 80. im 12 and i also have some back pain. but im also in athletics, play 3 different sports, and is active during the day. so maybe you are also very active throughout the day, maybe you should tone it down a bit or sleep with a pillow on the lower part of your back. lol either one is fine! hope i helped!
Avatar n tn Okay I'm 38 weeks due aug4 but scheduled csection is set for next Thursday. I'm having really bad pelvic preasure. Feels like I'm being karate kicked in my vag over and over. I can't sit stand lay down with enormous pains in my back butt and my girly area. I'm almost to the point of crying my eyes out. I have a really high pain tolerance but this is some crazy pain.
Avatar f tn Does not hurt to swollow, cough, or sneeze. Its on the outside. Sometimes the right side will be pain but not as bad as the left. So heres the weird part. I try to find the exact spot with my fingers but when i do i cant initiate pain. Then also its almost non existant when sitting down. I can turn my head any way with very little to no pain. But once i stand up it comes back right away.
Avatar n tn Hello sarabear and welcome to the Pain Forum: I think what you're experiencing is called Runner's Knee (Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome) The knee is a complex joint. It includes the articulation between the tibia and femur (leg and thigh) and the patella (knee cap) and femur. The most common knee problems in running relate to what is called the "patellofemoral complex". This consists of the quadriceps, knee cap and patellar tendon.
