4671444 tn?1357794171 Hi! In all probability you have injured the menisci in the knee—either the medial or the lateral depending on the site of pain. Meniscii if torn or injured, result in joint instability—that is you are not confident the knee joint will take your weight. Often the person feels a popping sensation on moving the joint. It can also be tendinitis due to inflammation of tendon at the knee joint. Since you had tendon injury 4 years back, this time too it could be a tendon troubling you.
Avatar f tn Severe joint pain in the knee and later also in the fingers. The knee thing turned out to be ostenecrosis where the femur of my right leg was dying. now I think this was all caused by the Tamoxifen, but what matters is that my vit D was very, very low, and it is in many people with cancer and bc. After I found supplements that were effective, and the D normalized, my leg and knee went back to normal. it just started one day without any injury or provocation and it stopped the same way.
Avatar f tn Sorry I should have put a little more detail-I am on Etoricixib 60mg but 10 days ago have been put up to 90mg as found it difficult to walk up the stairs without feeling like I was being hit in the knee. I am 47 years old and have a previous medical history of angiomas in the brain-one removed and one recently diagnosed in the spine with hypersensitivity. I have been told by my GP just to rest for a wk or two until the swelling goes down but it is still there as is the pain on the stairs.
1961313 tn?1326290364 I have problems with my knees, just general stiffness-but one day I had to get down on my right knee and the pain was extreme,it wasn't necessarily in the knee but to the right side of the knee,it felt like the skin was splitting into,I look and the skin looked fine,so I don't know if it's the tendon or the muscle what ever it is,is very painful,in fact I can't get down on my knees any longer
Avatar f tn the pain moves in joint space, you must feel you are unable to straighten your knee and pain get worst. your knee become frail, swell and stiff. The pain lasts for a long time. If you have any of these symptoms, contact to a Orthopedist.
Avatar m tn I had knee pain in outer side of knee while playing soccer. I took serratiopeptidase + diclofenac potassium capsule by doctors advice. I took rest for 2 weeks but when I started playing it started again. Please advice.
Avatar m tn Meanwhile it is advised to restrict movements around the joint. You could wear a knee brace. OTC NSAIDS and ice-packs may also help with pain relief. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn I have an appt on Tuesday the 16th but I just looked at my knee since I have been in a lot of pain. I have bruises all over my knee. The pain is shooting from my knee to my thighs.

Avatar n tn I run alot. And when I run I get this sharp pain in my left knee, it kinda feels like It needs to crack, but it never does. Then when I put alot of weight onto my left leg my knee will start to hurt again. Is this serious? Or should I jus ignore it for now?
Avatar m tn t suggest arthritis to me, I have arthritis of the knee and I get pain in the knee, also in muscles that work the knee. I don't get numbness anywhere else. I'm not medically qualiified but a doctor should check this out, whatever it is you will be better off with treatment.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm 14 years old and i have had pain in my knees, hips, and now on the side of my right shin. I started having pain in my left knee in December of '08. Then my right knee started hurting. Then both of my hips. MY hips are the ones that hurt the most now, not so much my knees anymore. I've been in ballet for 9 yrs also. I've had x-rays (sunrise, and lateral?), blood tests for arthritis but nothing came up.
Avatar f tn s actually not unusual to have an increase in pain after an injection - simply because the injection is traumatic to the joint - after all, they are sticking aneedle into the joint! Quite often, the injections you get in joints also contain a numbing agent, so you may very well feel immediate pain relief - however, once that numbing agent wears off, you experience pain again.
Avatar m tn I have had sex in Western Europe with sex workers but always with condomns on Recently i am experiencing pain in knee and wrist with no other symptoms , Earlier i was regularly exercising but now i have stopped , is it possible that the pains could be because of these problems
Avatar m tn It really matters what kind of noise it is in your knee and if it is accompanied by pain. If it is just occasionally popping with no pain, it could be nothing and some exercise like knee bends could strengthen your knee. On the other hand, it is painful too especially with swelling you may want to see a doc. If your knee is making a grinding noise for example it could mean that the cartilage is wearing down.
Avatar n tn Hi, Thanks for writing in. The knees are the most commonly injured part of the body. The largest joint, the knee is used for everything from standing up, sitting, to walking, running, etc. It's a weight-bearing joint that straightens, bends, twists and rotates. All this motion increases your risk of acute or overuse knee injuries. As you already have a history of trauma there is a chance of ligament injury or meniscal tear or tendinitis.
Avatar m tn Is curcumin a good choice for joint pain? If so what do you look for when choosing the brand? Also what other meds are there for joint pain and how do you choose the right one?
Avatar m tn Meniscii too if torn or injured cause pain worsening on walking and result in joint instability—that is you are not confident the knee joint will take your weight. Often the person feels a popping sensation on moving the joint. It can also be tendinitis due to inflammation of tendon at the knee joint. So, all these aspects should be looked into while diagnosing your pain. Weakness and pain in the knee can also be due to patellofemoral pain syndrome.
Avatar n tn Again please let me know if you are still on MH and I can offer a bit more explanation. In general you have reasons for serious knee pain. Unless your PCP has told you otherwise I would not exercise this joint to any degree until you have the consult. you may actually do more damage. But this needs to be your physicians call. I'll look forward to your response....and wish you the very best.
Avatar m tn My mother (age: 56+ yrs) undergoes treatment for Hypo Thyroid, Hypertension & Osteoporosis in left knee joint. Over last couple of days, she experienced some pain (not too severe) in her right (not left) knee joint, which got reduced after using knee cap for past 2-days. 1) Is it expected at the time of 'New Moon' & 'Full Moon' ? Is this scientifically true ? 2) What ideally should she do in this kind of situations ? Is wearing knee cap good enough ?
Avatar n tn Hi, about three weeks ago i developed sudden joint pain in my left knee and left elbow. the joints became swollen and hot to the touch. The joints were stiff espiecially in the morning, but through taking celebrex once a day i was able to regain a full range of motion. Initially the doctor took fluid from the knee joint because his feeling was that it may be gout.
3134509 tn?1342624494 Just over the past couple weeks I've had a few issues concerning my joints. First, my knee was a bother. I'm talking about pain so extreme I couldn't walk, I couldn't even lay down with a great amount of pain. It faded after a few days. But it seemed it came from the inside part of my knee. That was on my right leg. Then, maybe a week after, my foot/ankle started to act up on the same leg. It was extremely painful to walk on the ball of my foot.
Avatar m tn Thank you Doctors for your valuable inputs. My pain in the knee is manageable and just inconvenience while walking . I am still in my late 30's and no other complaints so far. I am keen to follow non surgical ways but Doctor here told me that if I delay in surgery, there is a huge risk of ortheritis. its concerning me a lot as I had never been to any surgery so far in my life.
Avatar m tn I have been having knee pain for quite some time now. Initially was taking it light, but recently got the same checked and MRI was performed. Dr.'s conclusion are as follow: 1. Grade 2C tear of medial meniscus. 2. Moderate to severe joint effusion distending the suprapatellar bursa with underlying osteoarthritic changes at knee. 3. Bone marrow edema is noted at the medial tibial condyle. Yet to meet my docter in two days.
Avatar f tn The location of the knee pain can be a useful guide to the cause of pain. Pain in the front portion of the knee can be caused by bursitis (inflammation of the lining of the joint, possible due to injury while playing), arthritis, or injury to the patella cartilage (front portion of the knee). Pain on either sides of the knee is usually related to meniscal tears, injuries to the collateral ligaments, and even to arthritis.
