Avatar f tn The closest thing I could find is if you think of your knee joints like a door. In cold weather, it shrinks. In hot weather, it expands. I wonder if you are not having that kind of reaction with your knee joint. https://www.osgpc.com/warm-weather-joint-pain/ And while hot water therapy is common for arthritis, for some with arthritis, they find showers uncomfortable. ?? Do you think you have arthritis? For some people, they really do react to either cold or hot.
Avatar n tn You may have arthritic problems now in your knee. The numbness in the foot could be from referred pain from your knee or lower back, inappropriate footwear or nerve damage. Apply hot, or cold packs to the knee. Use the one that helps the best. If the climate is hot and you work out a lot and sweat, you may require more than the 3 litres of water throughout the day.
Avatar m tn I tried to stop a fall and in doing so I twisted my left leg and got a severe pain in my lower cheek on my *** that went down to my knee. I saw black and starts for a brief second or two. It did cause me to cry. Now I have terrible aching in my cheek and it also goes to my knee. What can possibly be wrong. I hate to go to the doctor if all he's going yo do is prescribe pain killers and muscle relaxers. Not into meds.
Avatar f tn I am feeling pain in my right knee for 7 years now and all the doctors say they don't know the reason. One of my doctors did say I have bruising on the inside of my knee and gave me medication. After a few days, it wasn't working and the pain kept coming. I have a pain on the inside of my knee. It's constant unbearable pain. It hurts to where my whole leg gets numb and my feet gets cold. My knee also has this stingy feeling and they give out on itself.
Avatar f tn s an intense pain centered in my knee. It is in the front of my leg and in the soft points on my knee. Sometimes in the back but not so often. Sometimes it's in my calf on the back. It makes me limp and have to sit down pretty often. I cannot spend much time on my feet or else my feet fall asleep. I had Xrays and nothing showed up. My knee does not have fluid. That's why it gets swollen, right? My legs have no fractrures (I had fallen on a cement pad 3 years ago).
Avatar f tn I too have been suffering with cold knee symptoms which keep me awake at night with what I can only describe as a frozen pain. I am usually warm everywhere else and can on occasions suffer with burning feet. It seems that i am either one extreme or another but this does only occur at night. I also periodically get irritable legs so whether this is all related or not is debatable as the symptoms so far have been on separate occasions.
Avatar f tn ve had it in my left knee for over 2 years now and i want it gone. The doctor referred me to go to the physio, which i did for a while. He would massage my calf muscles and told me to do yoga to loosen my hip and calf muscles. I stopped going to him only because he said the yoga was the only thing that could help it. I have been doing yoga now for almost 2 years and there has been no improvement in the slightest!
Avatar n tn Have been reading other's experiences of cold knees. Mine started with one knee and was kind of an odd sensation in the depth of the knee that kept me awake at night and could not be relieved with painkillers or external warmth like a sock over the knee. It has just got progressively worse over the years and now in two knees and more intense, can't sleep or go back to sleep when woken in the night from it.
670987 tn?1284498786 Hey everyone, I am pregnant with my third child (about 17 weeks) with this pregnancy it has been one thing after another. First of all I have headaches everyday, now for about the last 5 hours or so, I've had a constant throbbing pain in my knee cap on my left leg. There is a bruised colored knot on the left side but that isn't where the pain is. The pain is around the bottom of the knee cap itself. I've tried a heating pad, ice, tylenol, etc. Not helping.
Avatar f tn Hello Bon, Welcome to the Pain Mangement forum. I am glad that you have found us. However I am sorry to heat about your knee pain. "Bad knees" run in my family and I understand how painful and debilitating knee pain can be. Has cortisone been effective for you in the past? If it has not been they usually won't repeat them. As Sandee said the general rule is 3 in a year but I have know physicians that will perform 4.

Avatar f tn Since high school, after running track for 4 yrs, (7 yrs ago) I hav had knee pain. In the last couple of years it has gotten worse, radiating to my hip. It happens when I've been standing or walking too long, or if I'm cold. Could this be a trauma induced osteoarthritis?

Avatar m tn I do not know if this applies to you however you can tell when your knee buckles that the sharp pain is due to the tearing of the ACL. This does not only happen in sports but it can happen in normal daily activities. Why? Because it takes a certain position and a certain amount of strength, and the criteria for it doesn't necessarily just apply to sports. Also in terms of suggestions, you have to be aware that cold compression is worse than hot compression.
Avatar f tn I had some mild pain in the calf of my left leg. My doctor said it is not a clot. The pain has gotten extensively worse now affecting the knee. I went back to doctor and the doctor said it is arthritis of the knee and that, at this point, no tests were necessary. Well, in spite of anti-inflammatory meds, I cannot put my full weight down on my leg without pain that seems more concentrated directly under the knee. I am walking around limping.
Avatar n tn The only problem, tomorrow is Friday and I am in PAIN!! The only releif I get in applying ice. There was no recent trama to my knee. I think it is just from wear and tear of playing sports and dancing when I was a kid (I'm now 32). The pain started below my knee, and is now accompanied with pain shooting down my shin. It also now feels as if something from the top of my knee is pulling as well. I am hurting, and I don't know what else to do. I am also taking Naperson (sp?
Avatar m tn I feel small pain when i run my fingers around the sides of the ribs.I couldnt find any nodes in my armpits. Also, I have cold knee symptoms while sitting down and i can feel nodes on top of both my knees. Also, the back side of my left knee was paining one evening but my right knee was fine. Also on one particular day i felt some pain on my shoulder blades, starting more on my left shoulder area. But it subsided by the next day.
Avatar f tn the pain moves in joint space, you must feel you are unable to straighten your knee and pain get worst. your knee become frail, swell and stiff. The pain lasts for a long time. If you have any of these symptoms, contact to a Orthopedist.

Avatar m tn Hey, I am 14 years old this usually happened when I don't have clothes on or when it's incredibly cold. The pain in my kneels is irritating, tonight I couldn't sleep because of it. I don't know I am scared because each time I tell my mom she says it's just a cold in my legs. The pain travel from my kneels joint to my hips bone.
Avatar f tn Hi again everyone, my leg is killing me, its really swollen today, and i have radiating pain from my ankles to my hip. My pain has definitely got worse since i had surgery, not in my knee but everywhere else. I just hate playing the waiting game, because thats what my doctor makes me do, and im not able to take pain meds, so i have to deal with it everyday. It's very irratating, and it's hard to stay positive and happy when all im able to do everyday is sit in my bed and watch tv.
Avatar n tn About 3 months ago, I experienced the sensation of extreme cold in both ankles. This has progressively spread up my legs and is now in my thighs (although the sensation is more like a burning now than coldness.) I do not get these sensations every day but when I do, both legs are exactly the same. I am relatively active and the burning does not get appear to get worse with exercise. My shoes feel tighter and wearing high heels seems to make it worse.
Avatar f tn s so i have no idea how it happened. Then i started having pain in my right knee which felt the same way as my left knee when the pain started, it turned out to be that i also developed a plica in that knee to and tore something i forgot what it was called, and my recent surgery was in november and i tore the same thing from before, i dont remember the name of it, i know it started with an L though.
Avatar n tn I'm having sensations like warm water is being poured over my knee. What can cause this.
4671444 tn?1357794171 Hi! In all probability you have injured the menisci in the knee—either the medial or the lateral depending on the site of pain. Meniscii if torn or injured, result in joint instability—that is you are not confident the knee joint will take your weight. Often the person feels a popping sensation on moving the joint. It can also be tendinitis due to inflammation of tendon at the knee joint. Since you had tendon injury 4 years back, this time too it could be a tendon troubling you.
