Avatar n tn I experienced it since I was a child, now I'm 22 and it's getting worst especially when I'm sitting in a car for a long period of time and when I want to straight or move it, that's the time that the pain will got worse, I can't even move my knee! but though i can move my toes. Even when I walk or kneel, their is a mild pain. And for some time, even in my left femoral bone area there is a local pain in front of my leg.
Avatar f tn I just recently started taking glucosamine and Chondroitin to help my knee recover from a dislocated patella. but for some reason my contact lenses have become very dry is that a side effect of the glucosamine??. I have used this type of soft contacts for a long time but never experienced this problem. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I do know the Glucosamine/Chondroitin Tablets Double Strength 3 a day have helped my knee arthritis a little bit. I do see a difference if I stop taking it. I have not had any back pain, but I am having pain down the front of my leg and cannot lift it or the pain goes into my groin. Everyone is telling me that its from my back being unaligned, even if it does not hurt. It is expensive, and its up to you if you want to try it.
Avatar n tn And have tried everything he has asked me too. The only thing that has worked for my knee pain that allows me to be pain free ,is pain pills, but I am afraid to ask him for them because of the immediate labeling(which even you are having as you read this) that comes from someone asking for a strong pain medication. Stay off the knee! I can’t, I have no desire to be stationary until I am dead.Limit your activities> I already do, no running, jumping, or hard impact sports.
Avatar f tn I have an 18 year old daughter who has been suffering from joint pain for about 3 and a half years now. Her pain started in one knee and gradually over time has extended to her other knee, hips, ankles, shoulders, and lower back. She has seen many doctors, has had x-rays, MRIs, and one arthroscopy surgery on her knee. She has soft cartilage in her knees. She tried taking glucosamine but found no relief after 6 months so she stopped taking it. She cries to me almost every night.
Avatar f tn Can an hbv patient take glucosamine and chondroitine supplement for knee pain and effusion.
Avatar m tn he has been diagnosed with knee luxation and has no pain that we are aware of he just wont go up and down 2 stairs or jump anymore..
Avatar f tn It may be arthritis....in which case many people have luck with Celebrex...however, you'd need a Rx for that......I've had multiple knee surgeries and my Ortho surgeon suggested that I try Osteo BiFlex (glucosamine and chondrointin) which seems to have helped immensely with arthritis pain (yes, I'm only 34 but have had problems with my knee since I was 21 due to a bad surgery the 1st time around)....You can get that at Walmart.....
1310435 tn?1273598077 Hi, I have PCOS and have had it for over 20 years, I also have severe PMT and I am on PROSTAP, over the last few months I have joint pain in my legs all day and at night, it is so annoying and painful, I feel tired at work and I have quite an active job, i am not lazy in any shape or form but it is really getting me down and I have been advised to lose weight, however, I find it very difficult as I also have an arthritic knee which needs surgery to a new knee, although, I can deal with the pain
Avatar n tn This may calm the daily stress on the knee and ankle and take away some of the pain you are experiencing. A good anti-inflammatory wouldn't be a bad idea either. Something like Ibuprophen, naproxen ect... I hope I was somewhat helpful. Take care and good luck in the future. Keep us posted and let us know how your doing.
Avatar n tn m now 32). The pain started below my knee, and is now accompanied with pain shooting down my shin. It also now feels as if something from the top of my knee is pulling as well. I am hurting, and I don't know what else to do. I am also taking Naperson (sp?), which is not helping. I can't take anything more than that, because pain meds knock me on my butt & I don't want that. Please help with other suggestions while I await my doctors appointment.
Avatar n tn Have been reading other's experiences of cold knees. Mine started with one knee and was kind of an odd sensation in the depth of the knee that kept me awake at night and could not be relieved with painkillers or external warmth like a sock over the knee. It has just got progressively worse over the years and now in two knees and more intense, can't sleep or go back to sleep when woken in the night from it.

Avatar m tn I have taken glucosamine for 10 years, due to a dislocated knee injury/surgury many years ago. I took it all through treatment (just ended 48 wks). I guess I was fortunate. I never experienced joint pain while on tx. My doc said it was OK.
Avatar m tn I read your response with interest. I still do strength training, and I am NOT interested in being able to lift more weight on subsequent trips to the gym (wouldn't want to show up respirate - JK!!!). In your opinion, I would guess, this "stuff" (scientific, similar to "crud") is better than gllucosamine chondroitin for the arthritis in my knee?
Avatar n tn i am having neck and back pain from more than a year. Any pain which starts does'nt cure. It started with back and neck pain in right half of the body. Then my right wrist got affected and it also pains while bending. After this my left knee got affected and it is from last 4 months. And now my left shoulder started paining from last 1 week.
1327032 tn?1288840755 Wow I have to say I have been pretty much sx free and today my knee joint started acheing bad! I put a benjay like patch on my knee tonight. I hope that is ok on tx what else can I do to make it feel better?
Avatar f tn I have a 7 year old sheltie. In 2006 he had to have knee surgery for torn ligaments. Now I am noticing that occasionally he has alittle trouble standing up. And when he starts to walk, he limps. At his last checkup in May my Vet told me that it was arthritis in his knees. Is there anything I can give him to help with the pain and stiffness? The Vet offered a perscription, but I would like to try something over the counter first. Can I give him aspirin or would it hurt me?
