Avatar f tn Over the past 4 days I have been experiencing pain/Throbbing in my right knee. I do not recall doing any activities which may have damaged it in anyway. The pain feels like it comes from underneath my knee cap, slightly to the right. It throbbs when I am sat down, and if i move my knee left or right whilst my foot is on the floor I get a very sharp shooting pain which makes me jump.
Avatar n tn Many arthritis sufferers are in a panic over the shortage of Voltaren gel (diclofenac sodium gel) and I get why they are worried. Voltaren gel is a prescription topical anti-inflammatory gel used for all kinds of arthritis pain: rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and osteoarthritis of the knees, hands and hips. People who have stomach issues from taking anti-inflammatories by mouth can bypass that problem with Voltaren gel.
Avatar n tn The knee is causing pain on movement; I use movelat gel; now the pain is severe at times. The knee clicks when walking.
Avatar f tn the pain is at the right side of my right knee, its situated near the fibula, not indicating that my bone is the one hurting, the pain is distinctive as it only hurts in a manner or form of a thread, the pain doesn't take up all of the right part of my knee, its just a thread shape pain that seems to extend from the femur down to the fibula.
Avatar m tn I just had my second syncvisc gel injection and I still have quite a bit of pain. My knees seem stiffer than before and I am experiencing pain in the bend of my knee. 1083310 tn?1260107282 It helped almost immediately with the pain and ability to move it. I also have had them for pain in my hip and in my knee for osteoarthritis. All have worked very well. I had Synvisc in my knee twice. The first time it was like the difference between night and day. It helped with the pain (I have osteoarthritis in knee) and made movement tons easier. It worked well for over 6 months.
230262 tn?1316645934 does anyone have some useful suggestions for what non narcotic drug would be best for severe knee pain? My knees have been hurting really bad for some time now, although in the big picture, its a fairly new symptom compared to my nagging back thats been bad for many years. Anyways, I cant take narcotics because I became addicted to them and fought hard to get off them and it still is a struggle often for me (cravings, suffering with pain still but cant take narcs etc).
Avatar f tn when I return home, I religiously place ice-gel packs on top and underside of knee for 30-40 minutes; then the CO Pack for ~90 minutes....
Avatar f tn I had a full knee replacement 8 weeks ago. I have been experiencing severe muscle pain behind my knee, in my calf and ankle. This happens after exercise and when I am at rest. I am doing the exercises given to me by the hospital. I have tried ice, ibuleve gel and medication but there seems to be no improvement.

Avatar n tn In some individuals, the kneecap tends to rub against one side of the knee joint, and the cartilage surface become irritated, and knee pain is the result. Allowing the inflammation of chondromalacia to settle is the first step of treatment. Avoiding painful activities that irritate the knee for several weeks, followed by a gradual return to activity is important. In this time, cross-training activities, such as swimming, can allow an athlete to maintain their fitness while resting the knee.

565899 tn?1216591914 m very scared and no one seems to be able to give me hope. I have severe pain in my left knee and it seems to be spreading down my chin and moving to mid thigh. Avatar f tn Hi, I'm 56, had 2 meniscus tears repaired on left knee 02/09 and 3 repaired on right knee 12/09. I also have arthritis in both knees (over 50%) and both ankles (not as severe). I will be doing a lot of traveling this summer, lots of airports; does an orthopaedic boot support both knee and ankle? I use Voltaren gel and take Tramadol twice a day.
1524304 tn?1326396974 So, I've had a question. Recently I was kneeling, both knees on the floor, and upon getting up my right knee suddenly had a loud pop/crack and sharp pain. For a while I couldn't move my knee and I waited out for pain to lessen. It did after about 30 minutes. But following days I found that if I move it wrong or bend too much, or put weight on it while bent, it kinda locks. After a moment or two, though, it passes and I can straighten it again.
Avatar f tn Same injection but only my left knee needed the Synvisc treatment. I reacted to the injection within 24 hours and my knee swelled up to the size is a 18" softball and excruciatingly painful. I ended up in the ER where they took off 50 cc of fluid. Three days later 75 cc were taken off and a cortisone shot was given. The swelling eventually subsided.
Avatar m tn Wow well Done on the 177 days thats a great acievement.
Avatar m tn I was putting in padded flooring in my home gym for about 4 hours. Since then I've had pain in my right knee only when kneeling on my right knee (like when tying shoes). It's to the side of the knee and feels like something is being stretched laterally at first, before I get a sharp pain that feels like it's stinging/tingly. It is not completely on the side of my knee, but in the softer area to the side of my knee cap.
Avatar n tn I am not sure if what I had is the same as synvisc injections, I had the gel injections in my knee, a series of 3 over 3 weeks. The first one I had was painful, so I insisted that my ortho doctor did the next one, not an assistant! I explained that it was very painful and he used a spray to numb my knee and he used a lot of it! I barely felt anything with the 2nd and 3rd injection. Although, I did not get any releif and ended up having total knee replacement.
Avatar f tn 17. 2 Years ago I had left knee surgery. The pain though is in my right foot. It sort of pulls and I can feel the pain when I lay my outside side of the foot on the floor. Last week I took a 4-day break off skating and the pain went away. I have skated for 3 days now and the pain is back. It's in the area of where the middle-foot bone(sp?) goes up to the ancle. I am under the impression that it's a little swollen and the area definitely feels harder than on my left foot.
