Avatar n tn i have pain under both kneecaps and is painful to walk on but there is no pain when i bend either knee I have suffered no injury that would cause this and pain was in right knee first and now its both
Avatar f tn But then up and pain subsided. Possibly knee cap moved back in place. Now then in morning knee lil swollen, pain when walking, no bending or squatting which would lead my proffessional opinion to be you over streched tendons, possibly a slight tear. Use an ice pack for 2 days twice a day 30 mins each. No more weights till Friday. If everything returns to normal leave the squats out for an additional week. However by this Friday if knee is still the same, go see family doctor.
Avatar m tn Then after a week I suffered from loose motions for 5 days and lost 6 kgs in my weight (from 64 kgs to 58kgs) . Then after I suffered from little joint pain in the middle of my knee joint like there is some insect crawling in the middle of the knee joint of right leg. After a week both the knee joints started paining. After 6 months these joint pains became severe and they pain every day, every minute during sleeping time or any time all the day.
Avatar n tn diagnosed with the following and would appreciate an explaination, and how serious is this. I am a disabled veteran and have been rated at 50% disability, right knee, and lumbar. Conclusion from med report, MRI no contrast 1. No HNP or central stenosis at any level 2.
Avatar f tn can anyone tell me if they have had platelet injections in their knee for arthritis? I have a really bad, arthritic knee and DO NOT want to have it replaced. I already did that on the other knee and regret it.I have had every treatment known including physicla therapy and still have issues with pain and not being able to walk for more than 10 minutes at a time. Any info about this would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I am just wondering how long it could take for a quad muscle to heal from a direct blow but with no bruising and if the weakness in the VMO muscle could cause my knee to pop and IT band to snap at times and cause pain in my pes anserine bursa. I did see a orthopedic who said he is not sure. X-rays were negative but I have a high deductable insurance so I am trying not to get an MRI.
Avatar m tn About 5 weeks ago I was trying to do rapid-squats without any warm up (yes, stupid, I know), and got this really sharp pain in my right knee, kind of under the kneecap - in the muscle area of my right leg I've been trying to not run at all to aggravate it, and trying to keep it straight, but I'm still taking walks on it. The pain has gotten a lot better, and it's only painful when I squat, kneel or bend my legs (the least painful).
Avatar f tn But around June 2022, I noticed that I started having some slight knee pain plus heel pain, I didn’t put much attention, thinking it was probably due to my heavy workouts. I would give myself about 3 days to rest and continued lifting weights twice a week. Fast forward to July 2022 I noticed a red lump on my thigh and had it checked out by my dr. who said it was a lipoma.
Avatar m tn I had TKR on my left knee 4 mths ago. I have loss of feeling, post-operatively, from my replaced kneecap down to mid calf. I was told this may or may not go away. I have not been able to sleep or sit for more than 1 hr before intense pain forces me to massage around the knee, front and back. When this happens the knee feels like stone and I am unable to lift it without using my hands.
Avatar m tn After several months off from the gym, to see If it would heal on its own, had no positive response so went back to the gym and started out with leg press with light weights and progressively adding up to heavy weights, like 250 lbs. I found myself cheating, the pain inside my left knee wouldnt let me do the exercise right so my right leg started to get thicker than my left and the leg press machine was getting unbalanced too.
647391 tn?1275016633 I had implant at 60 and replaced due to pain 2/20/13 after 10 years. Was still functional but very limited. A full knee replacement can result in gaining a nearly fully active life free of pain. I am a golfer and know several others who go from no pain or discomfort to very little. I have had 3 operations on it and feel it's worth the temporary pain and slight possibility of complications.
Avatar f tn Aw, I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. I, too, have chronic pain and have had it for over 20 years. I won't lie to you and say it'll get any better, unless you're on some awesome pain meds, of course, or you get that miracle blessing of it totally disappearing!
Avatar m tn One of the reasons I started weightlifting was so I could try to fix these imbalances. Foam rolling and wearing a knee sleeve helps me a lot when lifting heavy weights, as it makes me feel almost no pain even when doing, for example, squats or similar exercises. In the last week or so, I noticed that my left knee got a bit swollen. It feels tender to touch, as if it's filled with a liquid.
Avatar f tn Thank you for responding. I am planning on calling my ortho soon. I've noticed that this popping started around a week after I took a fall on the ice last January, and has not stopped. It's not painful, however, it does get sore by the end of the day from all of the popping. It doesn't prevent me from doing any excersise, but I do wonder if using a stepper or leg weights can cause more harm?
Avatar n tn Sometimes during or after the exercise, I feel something on the upper part of my knee when I put my weight on that knee. It's not on my kneecap specifically, I'm not sure if it's my quadriceps either, but it's somewhere in between those. I can't describe it as pain, I can't even call it a discomfort. It's really very mild, I'm not sure if this is normal and has been happening to me before as well, but I only noticed it now.
Avatar n tn Try to reduce your workouts as pain may persist so long the maintaining factor is present.Your knee problem further adds to your pain,so be cautious. To relieve the pain you can apply some topical drugs like voltaren emulgel and take acetaminophen if required.Consult a orthopedic surgeon if there is no significant relief. All the best.
245285 tn?1220498346 I would suggest you to apply ice packs on your knee joint 4-5 times a day till the pain and inflammation decreases. Take NSAIDs, rest and avoid weight bearing for couple of days. If your symptoms continue then I would suggest you to go for scans (X-rays and if required MRIs) to diagnose any bone or soft tissue damage. Always wear proper shoes and walk and exercise on suitable surfaces and avoid concrete and hard surfaces. Take care!
Avatar n tn I had ruled out arthritis, only because it felt like the pain generated from the bone, and I thought arthritis was from the muscles. I will explore this further.
Avatar n tn Then i experienced pain in my left wrist and I thought it could be related to the shoulder pain I have and the next day it spread from my left wrist to my right wrist. The paint as different when I touched my wrist it felt like the bone was bruised and I still had similar flexibility to before but it hurt to move it too far or pick up anything slightly heavy even my purse or book bag.
Avatar f tn Maybe someone can help me. For the past four months I have been experience really severe pain in my lower right leg. I have had shin splints before. I did the anti inflammatories, icing, rest, return to running slowly... etc. The pain persisted. The pain hurts when I run for longer than 5 minutes and hurts the duration of the run, and continues hurting the whole day. I had a bone scan and MRI done.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your input. I had specifically spoken to my Gyn about getting back on the exercise bike. We talked about it before surgery as well as at my 2 week check-up. I had been using the bike regularly as therapy for the knee scope I had done 5 weeks before the Hysterectomy. I'm not lifting weights or doing anything else that I was not doing pre-surgery. I just added back the bike and leg press.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have "calcified meniscus" on my right knee. I have constant pain on it. About a year ago, the doctor said my condition does not require surgery. In the other hand, I'm overweight (I'm 5'9" and weights 285 lbs). I need to loose weight and want to know what type of exercise I can do that do not have a worse impact on my knee.
Avatar m tn Few weeks ago I did deep squats with weights and my knee started popping and cracking. After that every step I walk into the staircase I hear loud cracking sound in me knee. So I thing it is 90% torn meniscus. Is there other solution than surgery? May physical therapy?
Avatar m tn The decision, which is yours and not your surgeons, will involve a weighing the trade-off between the benefit of removing the rod, and the risk of introducing new pain from the scar tissue that inevitably follows surgery. Consult with at least two experienced orthopaedic surgeons, asking questions about the procedure and the odds for and against improvement of pain and function. Best wishes.
