knee-pain

Avatar f tn Does anyone have knee pain like a torn meniscus pain? I went to stand up and I couldn't hardly put weight on it. My husband mentioned maybe it's nerve pain? Thanks!!
Avatar n tn You may want to see an orthopedic surgeon. The brace, can help prevent your knee from twisting & causing pain. You could have a torn meniscus. I twisted mine and a MRI showed a torn medial meniscus...I had out patient surgery but still have some pain. Atleast I can go up and down stairs and able to walk without a limp. I wear a petellar strap to prevent me from twisting my knee. Buy it at your pharmacy, sporting goods, K-mart. Ortho docs will charge you 3 times more. Just see your doctor.
Avatar n tn While playing racket ball the sole of my shoe stuck to the floor causing my ankle and knee to slide outward. I felt my knee buckle. I am not experiencing any pain unless I twist my knee. There is a small bulge on the outside of my knee cap. No popping noising when I bend my knee, it is hard to totally bend due to tightness from the swelling. I can put weight on it, but having to be really careful walking due to any twisting motion causing pain.
Avatar f tn Left knee pain for 7 weeks after twisting to sit 12 pack of pop down. Felt a pop in knee didnt hurt until I walked upstairs. Lateral knee pain and after walking awhile the back of knee hurts. Pain worst when bend knee or go up and down stairs. Pain always there just worst when bend it. Pain has woke me up at night if sleep with knee bent. Xray snd MRI normal so orthopedic said PT and if pain continues come back in a month. PT has me in tears.
Avatar f tn However fast forward a week on and I started having shooting pain from my Achilles heel and up my calf every time I walked, this also put pressure on my knee joint thus causing more pain( I have no knee, as this was taken out in 2001) on top of this, my leg feels heavy with tingling/ pins and needles sensation when I rest it...?
Avatar m tn I'm 32 and I've never had any sort of leg, knee, or joint problem. Lately I've noticed that when I plant my left foot and pivot on it to turn my body to the right, my left knee makes a popping sound. In the last few days I've noticed that I can feel something move in the same knee when I walk down stairs. It feels like it's located to the left (outside) of the center of the knee. The right knee doesn't have any issues.
Avatar m tn When I landed, i felt a sharp pain in the middle of my left knee. I did not feel any popping, just a very sharp pain right behidn the patella. I didn't think anything of it that day, and it never bruised or swelled. I laid off the knee for the remainder of the week, but when i started lifting the next week, anything that put stress on the knee hurt. Squats, Legpress, Deadlifts, they all hurt right at the middle of the knee behind the patella.
Avatar m tn I experience many different kinds of pain in many different areas of the knee, everything from the type of pain that accompanies a bruise to pinching, burning, and stinging. It does not matter if my knee is bent, straigthened, or whether I am walking or resting. I would really appreciate some suggestions to help alleviate the pain.
Avatar n tn Can someone give me advice. Should I see a doctor? Or can this be dealt with at home? Can knee pain of this nature result from a back injury. I guess I mean referral pain. Thanks so much for reading and considering my question. I would appreciate any advice.
Avatar n tn During my senior season I hurt my knee during practice twice in a day first by falling and landing directly on it and then by twisting it. What resulted was an intense pain on the inside of my right knee that usually came after climbing stairs or having to keep my knees in the same position for an extended period of time (e.g. at a movie, or during a car ride). Eventually I went to a doctor who referred me to a physical therapist.
Avatar m tn My knee pops and crackles from magnesium deficiency. Magnesium is needed to relax muscles and for hyaluronic acid synthesis which is used to lubricate joints. Glad i know this because i'd be going through a zillion tests with no diagnosis. Give magnesium supplements a try. Could be the simple answer. :) Magnesium supplements, - to avoid,- how to take it and -safety: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn The person it found me and I started running, I ran up two stairs and at the top was a lot of rubber and a railroad tie, I slipped on the Rubber and my right ankle went sideways slamming against the railroad tie. Now I am having pain from my right foot to my knee and sometimes further up when walking, and from my right foot to my hip when laying down. What could this be? (What could I have done to it?) Do I need to go to the emergency room?
Avatar m tn It is cartilage and will continue to wear down, that is what you are hearing. It is probably getting caught in different parts of your knee, twisting around with every movement, and this will cause the sound. If it really is tore, you should have it repaired if it is bothering you. If not it will just continue to wear down until there is nothing left.
942127 tn?1276949209 thanks, I figured that was what was causing the pain, but wasn't sure. I am still on anti-inflammatory drugs from when I first hurt my knee. I have an appointment Wednesday for it, so I suppose I can have him look at my foot as well. Back to the crutches I guess.
Avatar n tn the pain radiated from the feet up to the knee in both legs. it is terrible pain seemingly coming from the bone or at lest very deep pain. i could always tell you within 24 hrs. if it was going to rain or if i walked bare footed on grass or a cold floor the pain would start in the arch area of the feet then radiate up to the knee then as a teen the pain would go from the feet to the hips.. the doctors said it was growing pains however it continued all my life and is dibilitating.
Avatar f tn m sure my baby is fine, but to what extent can you get injured from falling and twisting really fast? My left lower back, rib, and hip to knee hurt really bad and I'm limping a bit because it hurts to walk. I do keep getting a pulling type feeling in my lower stomach.
Avatar f tn If I do this slide the knee will lock and I will be in extreme pain and it will be swollen for the next couple days. I have received diagnosis from knee cap dislocation to there’s no way it’s a knee cap dislocation to almost recently an unnoticeable in an mri bucket handle meniscus tear where the meniscus could be folding over. I believe this could be the problem and that over the years it has healed itself but anytime I slide on it with all that pressure and force it re injures the tear.
Avatar f tn t think much of it, but now Saturday, I cannot straighten or completely bend my knee and I have nonstop pain all around my knee. I really need to know what is wrong as I am a Lifeguard and this is severely affecting work Also, my parents will not take me to the doctor as of yet. Thanks.
Avatar n tn on regular basis she would have this strange sensation in her left knee sa if she had ants in her knee and would find some relief by twisting it until it popped.About 4 weeks ago but this time it was painful, then about a week later while walking at the park she felt a hard pop with intense pain. After going to the doctor and a mri it was confirmed that one of the two menisci is torn and she is to go for an artheroscopy. What could be that sensation in her knee ?
Avatar f tn This also causes heel pain, and because of the posture pain is also felt in hip, knee, and lower back. This can explain the pain you feel on and off and also why you fall. Please consult an orthopedic specialist regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar m tn Since then I have still been in pain, knee is catching and locking, and and limp all the time. My right knee is now hurting from compensating for the left knee. I went for another MRI last Wed. and it showas as I said another ter of the posterior horn medial meniscus at the inferior meniscal surface, and says "unchanged from the 4/21/10 MRI" Does this mean they missed a tear then or is this a retear?? The conservative treatment hasn't worked.
Avatar f tn Diagnosis of my injury after twisting it when turning a sharp corner when running in house. Felt pull/tug 4 inches or so below middle of knee. Discomfort bending, walking, sitting, squatting, etc. What did I fo. No swelling. What treatments to help it heal. What's my prognosis?
Avatar f tn In May of this year (2014) I was jumped and savagely beaten while I was fishing. I have an obvious fracture in my tibia and going into my ankle. I was in 2 different casts the first one for about 7 week's and the second one for about 8 weeks. This X ray was taken on 09/08/2014 and the orthopedic Dr put me into a CAM walker telling me that my bones aren't healing well. Anyway I wanted to get some opinions about this fracture or fractures.
Avatar f tn * I cannot pin-point what exactly triggers the joint pain. For example, putting weight on the knee or twisting it from side-to-side does not trigger the pain. I poke and push on it but cannot reproduce the pain. * The joint pain does not follow a specific headache -- my headache is a constant pressure in my head, and it pretty much always there. * The knee itself does not seem swollen, or have any indications of redness. It is only my right knee, left one is fine.
Avatar n tn s no blood in the damaged part of my meniscus, why do I swell after leg strengthening exercises. I have pain in the knee when twisting the joint, even when simply crossing my injured leg on the other. However, I can run pain free as long get a secure foot plant and I don't twist the knee. Is this consistent with a simple Meniscus tear? The joint itself doesn't seem "right". As though the parts aren't quite fitting together properly.
Avatar f tn My knee is stiff and painful today underneath the knee cap where the pes anserine tendon inserts and to the inside of the knee cap (medially). I also have pain in the middle of the back of the knee, is especially sharp if I push into it. In terms of comfort and daily activities, I am having no trouble walking except that my knee will get a little swollen (very slight) and stiff if I walk a lot.
