1306931 tn?1273540199 All I can suggest is that I take Nsaids like voltaren and it helps me with the arthritis in my knee. I also wear a knee brace when I walk or do any kind of physical activity. My knee makes a lot of crunching noises and sometimes its painful, but at least I can walk now. But yes you would need to call your orthopedic on your knee.
Avatar f tn However, yesterday when I was running, I suddenly started getting sharp stabbing pain only on the outside of my right knee. My knee is NOT swollen at all, I can easily bend my knee and pushing all over it causes no pain. It only stabs when I'm jogging on that leg. Today it was way worse. It's not bad when I walk, but it's over the top when I run. The hip/upper femur pain is constantly present, but worse when I sit.
Avatar m tn I am 55 years old and am putting on weight because I have been giving the knee time to heal. I need to get back to playing racquetball but am afraid! After reading some of the posts about tendon reattachment..........it doesn't sound very encouraging. I get strange little stinging sensations in the knee sometimes but it doesn't really hurt. I am guessing that the bone has healed by now and no I have not stayed off of the leg. I work every day in an office.
Avatar n tn I am a 32 yr. old male in good shape. Injured my knee a week ago playing racquetball during a squatting motion. I just got my mri results, but I don't know what they mean, and my doc's appt isn't for a week. I am out of work and trying to figure out my options. It says no tear seen, but is it possible or likely there could be a false negative? I have trouble straightening the leg and I have (weight bearing) pain during certain motions.
903476 tn?1242237037 My other issues would have not caused joint pain no one ever got arthritis from asthma. But the pain has got from 0 to 60 literally over night and now my whole arm is hurting but I think it's just cuz I'm trying not to move it around to much to not aggravate my thumb. There is only very slight swelling it's so slight it took me a few hours to even notice it was swelling there is no discolouration or feeling warm to the touch.
Avatar f tn I have healed well and have full range of motion in both arms, no lymphadema. However, from the start I have felt a very tight sensation beneath the scars as if a thick wire were threaded armpit to armpit (save the 1 inch between incisions) that is worse in cold weather but always present to a distracting degree. I have done the doorway stretches daily to no avail and sometimes a swelling under the skin develops. My surgeon says this may be an unresolved seroma but he cannot tap off fluid.
Avatar n tn Of late, I have noticed mild pain in my right hand and wrist especially when on the computer. The pain is more neuralgic type and not necessarily bone or muscle pain. I feel it is also finger specific, especially all my fingers other than my thumb and pinkie all of which I use to move the cursor. I am afraid I may have carpal tunnel. Please do suggest what to do now.
Avatar m tn I have had floaters from a trauma PVD to my left eye for a week now, and they make me sick to my stomach. I don't know if it is seeing the floaters or anxiety from the idea that my retina may tear and need surgery, but I feel terrible. Anyone else?
Avatar n tn I was hit by a racquetball directly in my left eye one week ago. There is still low grade pain and my eye is bloodshot. My eye is sensitive to light and when my eye is open I am seeing what looks like a jagged thread that appears to be extended outward - like looking through a cracked glass window. No money for doctors - will this go away by itself?
Avatar m tn I NOW HAVE A BIVENTRICULAR PACER/DEFRIBRILLATOR. PRIOR TO THIS I WAS VERY ACTIVE AND PLAYED RACQUETBALL 4X WEEK AND GOLF. I WOULD LIKE TO RETURN TO THESE ACTIVITIES BUT AM NOT SURE OF MY LIMITATIONS. HAS ANYONE ELSE BEEN IN THIS SITUATION AND WHAT ARE LIMITATIONS?
Avatar m tn I just recently had a racquetball accident, the ball basically hit me in the eye! 2 weeks later I started seeing flashes of light very small on the outside of my right eye. The doctor told me it was due to the fluid, I am guessing vitreous fluid. My question is being being that I am 33, and have never had a issues with my eyes what are my chances of having a retinal tear in the next couple of weeks Doc?
Avatar m tn m will to try anything,Maybe some support for this sight will give me the kick in the pants that I need to get started,,,,,,,,,,,,Thanks Rocco9.......ps hopeing to hear from someone..........
Avatar f tn I agree with Dr. Oyakawa. I took a racquetball to the eye, and even with protective goggles it didn't turn out too well for me.
Avatar n tn Please see an EyeMD Ophthalmologist right away. It could possibly be a serious problem just from your description of being hit in the eye by a raquetball. It's kind of like telling me you got hit by a car. Surely I would recommend seeing a doctor right away. Raquetballs are notorious for causing serious eye injuries. Remember to always wear eye protection because if the ball doesn't hit you a raquet will.
Avatar n tn Ever since then I cannot knee on a certain part of that knee. If I do I get a sharp, burning, stinging pain that quickly subsides once off the knee. I can walk and run on it fine, and have not experienced any swelling or other problems. I cannot feel any abnormalities on the outside. The pain is on top of the knee. Even pushing on a certain area it is is sensitive. What do you think?
Avatar f tn Around January of 2010 I started experiencing horrible pain in my right knee. After taking some time off from the gym and still experiencing chronic pain, I made an appointment with an orthopedic knee specialist. I had x-rays done and was told that my knee looked beautiful (structure-wise I guess) and that I probably had something called Femoral Pain Syndrome or Runner’s Knee. He recommended physical therapy, a knee brace, and said I should be fine in a few weeks.
1850203 tn?1325253608 the pain of the knee is at the side of the knee cap. sometimes it (the bump) will pop out -- whenever I get up from a chair. I pop it back in by sitting down again and raising the lower leg. this might be from an injury when I was 4 when thrown down from a stool and landing on knees several times. thank you.
Avatar n tn SO I AM HAVING PRETTY EXTREME PAIN ONLY WHEN KNEEING ON LEFT KNEE--USUALLY DOMINATE KNEE THAT I ALWAYS KNEE ON WITH ALL MY WIEGHT ON FIRST. DOESNT HURT TO WALK ON OR BEND OR ANY OTHER MOTION. RECENTLY I CAN FEEL SENSATIONS FROM A LITTLE BELOW MY KNEE LIKE "PINS AND NEEDLES" BUT VERY SLIGHT. I CAN LIGHTLY TOUCH BELOW CENTER OF KNEE AND FEEL SAME PAIN WITH VERY LITTLE PRESSURE LIKE A SLIGHT RUB.
Avatar n tn This essentially means a softening of the cartilage of the knee cap. The anatomical sources of pain in this area is now considered to be from the richly innervated subchondral bone (bone below the articular cartilage), infrapatellar fat pad, or the medial and lateral retinaculum of the joint. “...certain mechanical conditions may predispose you to a mistracking knee cap. ” Cartilage does not have the same blood supply that bone does.
Avatar m tn I am 45 years old from last year i am suffering from knee pain. Last year started left knee pain and this year started right knee pain Please suggest me what treatment can i take and what type of exercises can i start to solve my knee pains.
Avatar n tn I had a patella realignment procedure in April. My knee has healed great and is pain free. I'm back to doing all physical activity - except running. The knee feels excellent; however, I have alot of pain at the graft site on the tibia when I try to run. My three month follow up x-rays showed the bone was healing excellent, the screws were in place, and the grafted piece was in perfect alignment with my tibia. Is the bone pain normal, and is there anything I can do to speed the recovery?
