Avatar f tn This also causes heel pain, and because of the posture pain is also felt in hip, knee, and lower back. This can explain the pain you feel on and off and also why you fall. Please consult an orthopedic specialist regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn OA, femoral torsion, pronation at the subtalar joint (aka flat feet) or maltraking of the patella. The most common of these conditions is associated with a weak VMO muscle (inside of calf), this can be tested via squatting which is more difficult for people with the contition then others. If you wish to follow this up futher visit to the podiatrist maybe in order. Any futher questions feel free to ask.
Avatar f tn This also causes heel pain, and because of the posture pain is also felt in hip, knee, and lower back. This can explain excessive pain on your left side. This occurs due to weakness of gastrocnemius and soleus muscle, ligament weakness, discrepancy in length of both legs, high arch of foot, tibia varus (inward angle) extending beyond 10 degrees or due to forefoot varus. Do discuss with your doctor and see if all these possibilities have been looked into. Take care!
Avatar m tn after about a week pronation was about 95% with no pain however suppination although improved still remains stiff and tight with pain when i do rotation. There is a alot of pain espeacially in the mornings when im up from bed in the outer Ulna bone area. I do wrist exercises as often as i can despite the pain in rotation. My questions are as follows: - is this pain normal ? and how long will it take for full normal rotation.
Avatar m tn I suffer with severe pain from knee down to my foot, on the inside of my shin. It is very knotty as you run your finger up both my shins. The pain is 24/7, and i can only stand for short periods. If I crouch down then the pain is worse and causes pins and needles. Do you have any idea of what this may be?
1283844 tn?1447474493 I have worn them several times before without pain, but this time by the end of the day I was in alot of pain. I took the shoes off and I could tell the balls of my feet were swollen cause my toes didn't touch the floor even after being out of the shoes. I rested them and the swelling went away. I wear Nike sneakers pretty much all the time now, cause if I wear anything else I have instant pain in the balls of my feet. I can't even wear my flat dress shoes.
Avatar n tn For the last 6 months, the inside of my forearm from above my wrist to below my elbow (it seems to run along a tendon on the thumb half of the forearm) has become numb after either weightlifting or golfing. The first time I noticed something was off, the pain felt more like a shooting / burning sensation in the same general area. I would only feel this during a stretch (imagine sitting in a chair & reaching for something on a high shelf behind you).
Avatar m tn However, it feels like the pain/swelling has subsided. Pronation and supination is limited although the pain is not present in most times , I would have to force it with my other hand to rotate ( elbow to the side of the body/placed on table). In the last couple of days I noticed that my pinky/ring finger is going stiff (like after repeated use of keyboard/gaming on computer).
Avatar m tn Hello, Inadequate warm up before and after exercise is one of the frequent causes of calf and groin pain while running. Apart from that dehydration can also cause these symptoms. One of the other common causes is a condition called over pronation. Over pronation basically means that your feet are rolling over too much as you run which causes excessive pressure on the calf muscle and achilles tendon.
Avatar m tn For about 15 years, I have had this pain off/on in my abductor hallucis...I think... I google searched the different foot muscle parts and I honestly believe this is the issue. The pain comes during the night (during sleep); it's like a golf ball; muscle spasm. And the pain comes when I wear rental footwear eg. ski boots, snowboarding boats, ice skates. I have seen 3 Podiatrists and they believe it is related to pronation. And one doctor evey recommended surgery.
Avatar f tn This also causes heel pain, and because of the posture pain is also felt in hip, knee, and lower back. This can explain excessive pain on your left side. Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. You can consult an orthopedic specialist. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor (PCP) and get a referral for a sports clinic and consult a sports medicine specialist. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted.
Avatar f tn Since he was about 3-1/2 years old, he has had periodic leg pain that usually happens between 3-6 a.m. and sometimes last for about 30 minutes to an hour (rarely) after he gets up in the morning. Sometimes he does not wake up in the night but complains when he gets up in the morning. The pain is almost always unilateral, the left leg, but on occasion he complains that the right one is hurting as well.
Avatar m tn Orthotics may be important in treating shin splints. Excessive pronation is often attributable to medial shin splints. In these cases, orthotic therapy is important to control pronation.
Avatar f tn my mcp joint on my right index finger is also a problem if it moves to the side as in using a knife for chopping things, my left knee has a ligament that should be fixed and often locks and my sacro illiac joints hurt quite a lot on both sides. I have had 3 shoulder ops for rotator cuff and a bicep tendon tear. I have a prolapsed disc in my L5 S6.
Avatar f tn Hello, I just turned 20 two days ago. I have been having very severe pain in my feet, knees, and above my heels. I have been diagnosed with Flat Feet and Plantar Fasitis with over pronation a while back (about a year or two ago), and have tried several different things such as physical therapy, super feet orothotics, but my pain has been getting 100% worse since then.
Avatar f tn on oct.29 .07 i was at work and tripped and fell.extending my arm to break my fall .the result as it turned out was a fracture to the capitellum.from the begining i told my doctors that in addition to the pain in the elbow that i was feeling different pains in my forearm and wrist mostly a popping in the forearm. i was told that it all stemed from the fracture....on nov 19 . i had surgery to remove 'bone fragments"from the elbow .
Avatar f tn I fell and landed on my right wrist a month ago and had a lot of pain and swelling very mild bruising. I was having pain on the ulnar side of this wrist prior to this fall and had some cortisone injections. The swelling is not as significant as it was but still comes and goes. Saw the hand specialist who gave me the cortisone inj originally and had x-rays no fracture, incidental finding of having ulnar positive variance. I was given a wrist brace and dont go back until the end of Feb.
Avatar f tn However the pain increased and now it is everytime I step with my heel the pressure on my heel cause pain and also an acute pain on the right side of my upper ankle. It is literally just localized to that one are and it is not my whole ankle or foot. When I walk on just the upper part of my foot there is no pain as well as sitting and twisting my foot around there is no pain. As I stay off of it it does not get worse and it actually felt a little better this Thursday morning.

Avatar f tn m worried since the pain keeps getting worse, and makes me really sick to my stomach. The pain goes through my toes across the top and bottom of my feet into my ankles. The worst area is right on top of my left foot, above my ankle, but below my shin bone. The pain is a horrible burning/stabbing sensation, which feels like someone is taking a knife and carving my insides out. :( Please help! I can't stand this much longer!!!!!
Avatar m tn I want to do everything I can to prevent my bunion from getting worse and preventing pain in later years. What non-surgical things can I do to prevent painful bunions or even correct the bunion? I bought some foot insoles to correct my pronation. I've tried gel toe seperators, but they don't seem to do much. I've also tried the Profoot Goodnight Bunion which stretches the big toe out when going to sleep (but I wake up at night because it hurts after a few hours).
