knee-pain

Avatar m tn hello, I play volleyball, which is hard on the knees from diving to jumping all the time... a few months ago I dove and hit my knee on the groung very hard. My knee pain went away and it recently has come back. It feels like a knife goes into my knee right below my knee cap every time i jump or put a lot of pressure on it like trying to stand up. I have been icing it, but it won't go away....Does anyone 1. Know what is wrong? or 2. Know how to fix it?
Avatar n tn After that, running and jumping has caused much pain in my knee. I went to an athletic trainer and they told me I had tendinitis and to ice and take ibuprofen. It continues to be very painful during practice. I can feel rubbing and clicking in my knee when I walk. What is wrong with my knee? Should I still be playing basketball or will it make it worse?
Avatar n tn A few months ago, I started to have back pain, in my lower spine, and horrible knee pain. I can still handle the back pain cause it stops after 30 minutes of training, and returnes after it (I don't care as long as I can play), but knee pain in my left knee is horrible. Yesterday I jumped and felt as like someone is stabbing me with a knife in my knee. I couldn't stand on my left leg for 10 minutes, and after that it still hurts a bit, but I can walk nicely today.
Avatar n tn I have had mitral valve prolapse w/minor twinges of chest pain for 20 yrs. For 12 years I could not exercise without getting chest pain the next day. Then for the last 10 years I have been able to exercise with no problems. Then I had knee pain & was put on a 14 day dose of Diclofenac Sodium. After 10 days, I got chest pains for 2 days. I went off of medicine. Ever since whenever I exercise, I get chest pains the next day. I had stress test done & heart looks ok.
Avatar m tn I use to play a lot of basketball and football I am now 35. Last wk I was playing basketball and when I came down from jumping I had a real sharp pain in my knee and could not continue. Around the top of my knee cap is tender and hurts and when I put pressure on my knee getting out the car or anything I get sharp tack like pains under my knee cap and sometimes on the side of my knee and it aches a little, I have really slight swelling but I am able to walk.
Avatar n tn Now, I have developed a large bump about the size of an egg underneath my right knee. It has no similararities from the AVM? Could it be a blood clot?
Avatar n tn Aching pain at and below the patella. Difficulty straightening the knee. Pain is most servere when putting weight or pressure on it. Pain can be felt when climbing up the stairs, jumping, running and standing for prolonged periods. In addition, pain can be felt behind the knee cap. I've had blows to the front and side of the knees before when playing soccer. The Orthopaedic diagnosed me with having Patella Tendonosis. However, I'm seriously starting to doubt the diagnosis.
Avatar n tn I try and workout daily and I played a lot of outdoor basketball between the ages of 18-24. About three months ago I had knee pain (not sure exactly what caused it) and it hurt to walk up and down stairs let alone jumping. I've stayed off my legs for the most part and my knee feels better, but it cracks and crackles now when I squat. I cannot see a doctor for another month and was wondering if I should be concerned.
Avatar f tn s the tiny muscle in yiur knee that keeps your knee cap in place from jumping out. And believe it helped a lot! I could barley rely on it and was scared to stay home by myself from fear of falling. Hope all goes well.
Avatar f tn Well I went about still exercising and then I developed a small rash, then my knee pain intensified. I thought arthritis because I felt the pain deep inside my knee. I saw a doctor who did an xray and it came back normal so I thought I was out of the woods. I still exercised but very slowely but for a half an hour everyday. Well I had a knee follow up appointment with my regular physician who told me to stay off my knee for two weeks.
Avatar m tn I was still experiencing pain and tightness in my knee as well as in the quad tendon but have been able to resume training with running, squatting, jumping, etc. Laying on my back, lifting my leg, and bending my leg back and forth usually creates some discomfort and a little grinding in the knee. At night prior to going to bed I always stretch. The other night I was performing the couch stretch. During the stretch I heard and felt a very loud pop directly in my knee.
Avatar m tn I get a sharp pain in my left knee when jumping hard. I can run and sprint without pain. I can even jump 10 to 12 inches without noticing any pain. But when I do a two legged jump to go up for a dunk, I immediately get pain around the middle of my left knee. It then hurts to jump and there is pain when doing even a minor squat. Eventually within about an hour.
Avatar m tn I've recently started skateboarding again its been about 4 months and I usually skate at most twice a week. Lately I've been feeling pain on the outside of my right knee after about an hour of skating. I've realized I usually land on my right leg if I'm jumping off a trick that I know I'm not going to land and this happens repeatedly. My right leg is my front leg when skating so when I land on it I'm also stopping my forward movement.
Avatar f tn 45 lbs gain, severe heartburn all the time, ticking and muscle jumping quite often, severe headaches that have turned into migraines (photosensitivity, vomiting and the works), muscles in my legs jumping themselves, although the left knee barely has any reaction to testing for reaction, deep bone pain radiating and throbbing (mid calf, arms, other bones, mid chest (superficial), clavicle), stomach pain (pancreas, spleen, intestinal area?) I have one kidney.
Avatar f tn my grandpa taught me something I find works extremely well for losing love handles, it doesn't cause much pain but it's always worked very well for me.
Avatar f tn Patients usually feel pretty good and think they can avoid these critically important steps, and even start running and jumping before the internal aspects of the knee, and the joint surface are ready.Healing also depends on the severity of the cartilage damage and any other conditions existing in the knee. You need not worry and follow up ypur doctor regularly.
Avatar n tn I have a knot that has developed on my left leg, it is on the outside of the leg, up about 3 inches or so from my ankle. It doesn't really hurt or anything. I was just wondering what it could be... Thank you..
7758733 tn?1402589420 I work with kids, and some will run up and hug me really tight or bump me ,my son is constantly jumping all over me or knee-ing my stomach. Not hard enough to hurt but it's still uncomfortable, and I'll feel her move like she felt it or was disturbed. Does this effect her, like is she getting knocked up side the head or something when it happens??
Avatar f tn I've been having a pain just below my knee, the top of my tibia it's right before tendon starts. Anyway, this pain has been going on for about 2 weeks, I've noticed no skin discoloration. There's mild swelling and it hurts to bend my leg as well and squatting, jumping, stairs, etc.. I also have palpable pain, when tapping on the bone lightly, hurts and even hitting it against edge of my car accidently tonight with little force almost had me in tears..
Avatar f tn She had a recheck 6 months later and there were no problems in her growth plates and all seemed to be fine. Since then she has been waking up screaming and kicking with pain behind her knee right in the middle across the crease where the knee bends. She does this 2 or 3 times a month. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to it. Sometimes we have done a lot of walking, she has done a bunch of jumping, running, etc. And sometimes not. There is no swelling, redness or warmth to the area.
649848 tn?1534633700 Barb and Sarah, I really appreciate both of your comments and suggestions. It's helpful to hear the different possibilities. There are a lot of write-ups by doctors and researchers about later side effects when someone had earlier been sick with Covid itself (not the shot but the actual virus). Those often almost sound like the virus acts opportunistically, as though it targets wherever there is a weakness (for example, the heart) and makes it worse in the long run.
Avatar f tn But do you think the pain i have thought was arthritus could actually be pain from having a patellar tendon rupture? If i was to have surgery to realign my patellar would that get rid of the crepitus? Thanks again.
Avatar f tn Whenever i squat or bend my knees they make a lot of popping and grinding sound, and sometimes when i'm sitting and move it a certain way i cannot make them go straight without pain and then a pop. Also when I ice skate or roller blade the medial side of my left knee cap hurts and the lateral side of my right one, what does this mean if anything?
