Avatar f tn I just received the results of my MRI and I am looking for information concerning treatment options. (a second opinion from my doctor) I have severe sciatic type pain radiating from my lower back to my left foot, off and on for the past 6 months. Lately more on than off. I have tried two courses of medrol dose packs, heat to area, and changed my exercise routine from walking and Jazzercise to stationary bike and water aerobics. I am taking percocet at night to relieve the pain so I can sleep.
Avatar f tn s something serious you could request an MRI from your Dr. It could have to do with your job and being on your feet all day, yes. Do you enjoy a sport. Swimming helps me a lot with my aches & pains. I'm tall too, 5'10". Once a chiropractor told me I had an extra vertebrae. I also enjoy Jazzercise. Exercise will help you. Let us know how you are doing.

Avatar f tn I still Jazzercise 4 times a week and I'm 13 weeks along. You can keep doing your pre-pregnancy workout if your body is used to it. If you're starting from scratch, try walking or water aerobics. Water aerobics is actually awesome during pregnancy! I was told no flat-on-your-back abs after the first trimester, and not to get my heart rate over 160bpm.
Avatar n tn Ever since then I cannot knee on a certain part of that knee. If I do I get a sharp, burning, stinging pain that quickly subsides once off the knee. I can walk and run on it fine, and have not experienced any swelling or other problems. I cannot feel any abnormalities on the outside. The pain is on top of the knee. Even pushing on a certain area it is is sensitive. What do you think?
Avatar f tn Around January of 2010 I started experiencing horrible pain in my right knee. After taking some time off from the gym and still experiencing chronic pain, I made an appointment with an orthopedic knee specialist. I had x-rays done and was told that my knee looked beautiful (structure-wise I guess) and that I probably had something called Femoral Pain Syndrome or Runner’s Knee. He recommended physical therapy, a knee brace, and said I should be fine in a few weeks.
1850203 tn?1325253608 the pain of the knee is at the side of the knee cap. sometimes it (the bump) will pop out -- whenever I get up from a chair. I pop it back in by sitting down again and raising the lower leg. this might be from an injury when I was 4 when thrown down from a stool and landing on knees several times. thank you.
Avatar n tn SO I AM HAVING PRETTY EXTREME PAIN ONLY WHEN KNEEING ON LEFT KNEE--USUALLY DOMINATE KNEE THAT I ALWAYS KNEE ON WITH ALL MY WIEGHT ON FIRST. DOESNT HURT TO WALK ON OR BEND OR ANY OTHER MOTION. RECENTLY I CAN FEEL SENSATIONS FROM A LITTLE BELOW MY KNEE LIKE "PINS AND NEEDLES" BUT VERY SLIGHT. I CAN LIGHTLY TOUCH BELOW CENTER OF KNEE AND FEEL SAME PAIN WITH VERY LITTLE PRESSURE LIKE A SLIGHT RUB.
Avatar n tn This essentially means a softening of the cartilage of the knee cap. The anatomical sources of pain in this area is now considered to be from the richly innervated subchondral bone (bone below the articular cartilage), infrapatellar fat pad, or the medial and lateral retinaculum of the joint. “...certain mechanical conditions may predispose you to a mistracking knee cap. ” Cartilage does not have the same blood supply that bone does.

Avatar n tn I had a patella realignment procedure in April. My knee has healed great and is pain free. I'm back to doing all physical activity - except running. The knee feels excellent; however, I have alot of pain at the graft site on the tibia when I try to run. My three month follow up x-rays showed the bone was healing excellent, the screws were in place, and the grafted piece was in perfect alignment with my tibia. Is the bone pain normal, and is there anything I can do to speed the recovery?
Avatar n tn Lack of progress and improvement becomes understandable when one considers that typical evaluation and treatment are directed at the symptoms. But with chronic knee pain, and many other pain syndromes, actual benefits may be obtained by addressing underlying biomechanical problems. Faulty biomechanics are at the root of many ongoing knee problems. Of course, various other diseases and orthopedic conditions may cause the same type of chronic pain.
1961313 tn?1326290364 I have problems with my knees, just general stiffness-but one day I had to get down on my right knee and the pain was extreme,it wasn't necessarily in the knee but to the right side of the knee,it felt like the skin was splitting into,I look and the skin looked fine,so I don't know if it's the tendon or the muscle what ever it is,is very painful,in fact I can't get down on my knees any longer
Avatar f tn In October 2010 I had bilateral TKR after suffering from knee pain due to osteoarthritis for more than a decade. After being fully informed I was convinced that the pain in my knees would be gone and walk like normal. My right knee was slightly less painful than the left which was constantly in pain . Xray scan revealed ther was no space at all in the joints and both bones had become almost fused. A must for TKR, the operation was done in both knees on the same day. Post op was event free.

Avatar f tn Yeah I have pretty bad knee, hip, and lower back pain. More than likely it's just from the extra weight from the pregnancy. I'm hoping it'll stop once I deliver, for you and me. I know how miserable it can be.
