Common Questions and Answers about Knee pain from horseback riding

knee-pain

Avatar f tn said my knee was healed and I could go about doing everything I use to do, I went horseback riding this weekend and my knee has started hurting--along with other parts of my body too :). I gave him a call first thing this morning and I'm waiting for him to call back. I would hate to think I re-injured my knee.Wish me luck.
Avatar f tn Horseback riding puts a lot of pressure and impact on your core, where baby is. I would personally find it very dangerous to ride that far along. Even if you trust your horse; horses can trip, something can spook them, they can have a temper. Remember they are always animals. Bring pregnant often throws off your balance as well, which is essential in riding. I just wouldn't take that risk. - professional rider and trainer for 10+ years.
Avatar f tn Hi! I have heard doctors approve riding early on in pregnancy because the baby is low and protected by the pelvic/pubic bone. But they say after 12 weeks, the baby raises up out of the orotection of the bones and it isnt safe. I know its not anything most doctors would approve of. I am an experienced rider and i broke the rules and have ridden quite a but in this pregnancy, but only in a small round pen on a horse that i knew and felt super safe with and at a walk.
Avatar f tn So.. I do horseback riding about 1-2 times a week, but I'm not sure og hos much training it is.. And how many calories do I burn?
Avatar f tn My daughter cannot do any activities without pain -- walking, swiming, cycling, skiing, horseback riding, etc. -- and is becoming very depressed (we are treating that). Any ideas on where I can go to get more help? We live in the Minneapolis area.
Avatar f tn This is a problem I have had as far back as I can remember, and am desperate to solve as it holds me back from doing things I would enjoy. I have done my best to research it, but it is a mystery! I often get that 'tickled to death' sensation (feels like I'm being tickled to the point that my body hurts, there's that weird pain up and down my spine, and my body has to tense up and convulse to try and stop it) just from moving.
Avatar f tn It really depends on the woman whether or not there is a lot of bleeding. Tampons, bike riding, horseback riding, etc. can all break the hymen making it so during that woman's first sexual encounter- there is no blood. However, some other women experience a LOT of blood and pain, it's kind of hard to tell before hand what will happen. If you don't usually use tampons, do a lot of riding, masturbate or have been fingered you may experience bleeding.
Avatar f tn Im very active and little man moves regularily so i see why not. Im still horseback riding! (P.
Avatar f tn I have had knee and elbow pain for years, possibly resultant of many years of horseback riding and injuries. About 12 years ago I had a bout of tendonitis in both arms ( I owned and walked 2 Great Danes daily and did lawn mowing, tree and shrub trimming). I have suffered with this is greater and lesser degrees over the years, depending on what I am putting my body through. About 5 years ago I began having pain and weakness in my thumbs.
Avatar f tn She should probably watch her activities, i.e. horseback riding, heavy lifting, etc. until this resolves.
Avatar f tn I'm 35weeks & every year my family goes on a vacation up north. (I live in Wisconsin.) I'm wondering if I'll actually be able to even participate in anything. There's horseback riding, four wheeling, pontooning (which is like this big boat, super relaxing), fishing, archery, and just overall R&R. By no means do I want to induce premature labor & the baby's safety comes first. I'm mainly just worried about the horsebackriding & four wheeling.
Avatar f tn m taking that right now and have my entire pregnancy and will my entire pregnancy due to 2 spinal fractures and a pelvic fracture (horseback riding accident March 2 of this year). It is safe just done exceed 4,000mg of accetominiphin per 24hr period of time. So check other medications so make sure. I hope you are feeling better soon!
Avatar f tn lights and other sparkling lights, and a large distinct cobweb of floaters). I would also like to know if horseback riding and ATV riding over rough terrain might aggravate the condition to the point of causing a retinal tear. And finally is there a natural remedy or vitamin, like Lutein, that might help with this condition. Sorry to load up the list with so many questions, but I really feel like I need some help!
Avatar f tn Biking too much hurt my knees, and my body just collapsed. Since then I have had debilitating knee pain, wrist problems, TMJ...pretty much all my joints are messed up. No Drs know whats wrong with me. My blood tests have all turned out negative, for Lyme's, rhumatoid arthritis, etc. X-rays of my wrists and knees are perfectly normal. Over the last year the pain has been ongoing, often so I can barely walk. I can't write or use my hands, or play violin anymore.
Avatar f tn , sometimes tears during childhood when women do normal activities such as bicycle riding, horseback riding, or doing any active things really. Some women are born without a hymen altogether. Or sometimes during intercourse it could just stretch and not tear which causes no bleeding. I really hope that if your husband loves you he will believe that, and not focus on something so unimportant. I understand that in your culture maybe it's a really big deal.
463595 tn?1333997222 /is it normal last 2 day i felt like i would do a horseback riding for 12hrs:"(
Avatar n tn It all depends on what you mean. A normal, active life can break a hymen. Horseback riding was always mentioned when I was a girl as an activity that can break the hymenal tissue, or active climbing. But if someone had broken her hymen horseback riding, I would certainly still think she was a virgin if she had never had sex. When you get to the boyfriend's fingers, it is more of a gray area. The real question then is, does your boyfriend fingering you count as "sex?
Avatar m tn The hymen can break from many activities that are non-sexual such as bike riding, horseback riding, etc., so that also is not proof of virginity. Labia minora develop further, lengthen, sometimes darken in color, can protrude from the labia majora, all during and after puberty. Labia minora showing outside of the labia majora is a sign a girl has gone through puberty, it has absolutely nothing to do with virginity.
Avatar n tn on occasion, most often after i've been horseback riding, my clitoris swells up. i don't have a gynecologist, and i it's not always this time though, - today i was sitting at my computer typing and that irritated it. it's not the actual clitoris, but the lips that run down to the vagina - i don't know what they're called, but it's the the inner lips, not the outer part - and it's only the left side.
1493027 tn?1289839121 I have that disease and it comes along with all sorts of back problems. I had a horseback riding accident and terrible back pain from that (spinal fracture) but it never went away. It took several years of MRI X-rays CT scans before the puzzle pieces came together and the drs realized it is AS. If you have any questions please let me know. I don't check in on this site as often as I would like so private message me if you have any questions.
9642997 tn?1405012768 What can you do? Stop using a pogo stick, horseback riding, jumping on a trampoline, skydiving, riding a motorcycle, and other activities that impact your spine. Other than that, nothing for you to do. Sometimes bending forward relieves pressure on the spine and reduces pain. The prednisone is to reduce inflammation. Hope it works. The surgery will involve decompressing the spinal cord, and without knowing any of the details, hard to say how involved it will be. Wishing for the best.
Avatar f tn The whole thing about "breaking" hymens is misrepresented in movies, etc. The hymen is a thin membrane, and most likely already open. In rare cases, young women have an esp strong hymen, which requires a doctor's help, but the large majority of women's hymens "break" all by themselves, through horseback riding, bike riding, gymnastics, and other sports.
Avatar f tn OK, so you are saying that you had sex and you thought that absolutely every first time for every woman, there is blood, and now you are wondering if you really didn't do the thing that everyone calls 'having sex' because you didn't have blood? LOTS of women do not bleed their first time.
