Avatar m tn and was given a few strecthes and leg strengthening exercises to help with my knee problems. Well, after a solid two weeks of performing these exercises, my knee feels strong and well. But whenever i have to stretch and put my left knee into my buttox the entire knee feels an incredible amount of pain. Also, whenever I try and sit on my ankles, I am in HUGE amounts of pain just in the left knee.
Avatar m tn I play street hockey and while running during a game about 2 weeks ago, I landed a bit awkwardly on my right foot. I felt like I had jammed or very slightly hyperextended my knee. The pain was moderate and after a day or so it was all but gone. I have suffered no 'real' injury from this, as I am able to walk, run, work out, etc. with no issues or loss of performance. However, since the event I've noticed that my knee aches after I play hockey.
Avatar m tn I have been having knee troubles since mid november of last year. The pain came up about two weeks after basketball had started and it hasn't gotten much better or worse to this day. The pain comes when I jump, squat, lunge, etc. which causes playing basketkball very difficult. The pain is worst directly on my kneecap.
Avatar m tn i am 2 months out from surgery and my knee is fine and feels stable so what exercises can i do to help with this pain in my butt???
Avatar n tn A few months ago, I started to have back pain, in my lower spine, and horrible knee pain. I can still handle the back pain cause it stops after 30 minutes of training, and returnes after it (I don't care as long as I can play), but knee pain in my left knee is horrible. Yesterday I jumped and felt as like someone is stabbing me with a knife in my knee. I couldn't stand on my left leg for 10 minutes, and after that it still hurts a bit, but I can walk nicely today.
Avatar m tn about 2 and half months back i kinda overstretched my knee during stretching exercises, i felt excruciating pain later, i went to a doctor and he gave me pain killers for 3 weeks, saying its probably not a tear but swelling, will subside with time, since then, it remains, i try to jog and stretch with same condition. at times , it increases and at times, it doesnt. at times, when knee turns at an angle, it gives a giving away feeling, with pain, wonder what should i do?
2092579 tn?1332911982 You could try resting the knee for a few days, followed with physiotherapy or exercises to strengthen the muscles around the knee. Tylenol/ OTC NSAIDS may be helpful for pain relief. If the symptoms continue, I would suggest a review with your orthopedician. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar n tn I have looked for patterns to try to self-diagnose, such as hydration levels, with no success. The pain often begins in my knee as a dull ache that can be temporarily alleviated by putting pressure on the patellar tendon, but then will radiate into either my hip or ankle. NSAID's seem to help sometimes. However, today I woke up with excruciating pain in my quad. It is not a cramp because there are no knots on palpation and stretching does not help.
Avatar m tn Now I am paying for it, my knee gives way and I have very bad pain every day my leg is half the size of my other and you can see the sutures move in my knee. I have to go for a Camera in my knee in 4 weeks have I damaged my self ? or can i repair this? pls give me some advice I know its my own fault.
Avatar m tn sudden knee pain during pt and continued pain interior medial aspect. medic took xrays - all ok. Soft tissue issues. therapist can feel the popping of (muscle, ligament, tendon???) during flexion and extension. It feels like something has to pop over something else for leg to straighten. It hurts when it does. Occurs during weight-beating and non weight bearing. Therapist says muscle may be increasing in bulk but not stretching out causing other soft tissues??? to have to pop over them.
Avatar n tn Hi, Snapping suggests that you are having some ligament issue. Crackling sound at knee could be due to either ligament or meniscus weakness. You can visit an orthopaedician for evaluation and imaging study. Bye.
Avatar f tn Popping or clicking with pain can happen due to anterior cruciate ligament injury (ACL) or discoid lateral meniscus. The ACL injury is a problem because this instability can make sudden, pivoting movements difficult, and it may make the knee more prone to developing arthritis and cartigae tears. Symptoms which you have mentioned do not seem to be significant and can be considered as normal.
Avatar m tn I sprained my right ankle while playing football back in September 2015. It was a ligament rupture not a fracture but the doctor still put on a below knee cast for 5 weeks. After the cast was removed it never regained full strength and I started having inner ankle pain. I was doing all the physiotherapy exercises but it never got better.I avoided playing sports till June 2015 when I played friendly backyard cricket.
Avatar f tn It is normal and it is called round ligament pain. It happens to me all the time. It helps if you hold your abdomen while you cough or sneeze.
Avatar n tn Aching pain at and below the patella. Difficulty straightening the knee. Pain is most servere when putting weight or pressure on it. Pain can be felt when climbing up the stairs, jumping, running and standing for prolonged periods. In addition, pain can be felt behind the knee cap. I've had blows to the front and side of the knees before when playing soccer. The Orthopaedic diagnosed me with having Patella Tendonosis. However, I'm seriously starting to doubt the diagnosis.
Avatar n tn Last thursday I had my right leg crossed over my left with my knee leaning against the edge of my desk while sitting. A coworker thought it would be funny to hit my knee. They hit me really hard right on the Vastus Medalius Muscle. It was originally just a little sore but over the next day or so i didn't feel any pain. Over the weekend I started to get more pain below my knee right on the Pes Anserinus Bursa that makes it painful to walk and run alot.
Avatar f tn I am a 20 year old female college student who is fairly healthy and exercises regularly (3-4 times per week). For 1 month I have been experiencing pain in my left knee. The pain occurs mostly above the knee cap and slightly along both sides. I have never had any knee injuries nor do I remember injuring it prior to when the pain began. I made a doctor's appt for February 22nd but it seems to be getting worse and i'm not sure if I will be able to handle the pain.
Avatar m tn Ok, so the end of last academic year, i had this bad pain that was right above the knee, not in the joint, but above it, but after a while it went away, and i was happy. A few weeks ago it came back, i went to the doctor, and he diagnosed it as a chronic muscle strain. They took x rays and stuff, and it all showed up perfect. They just today took x rays of my hips. The pain has not gone away, btw i was put on crutches and this leg brace thing that only lets me bend 90 degrees.
Avatar f tn Thank you for the post, but did you catch my original post about 10minutes before the one you answered? They had me on so many IV antibiotic when this happened. They never went and did anything to the joint itself. Is it true that the joint, prosthesis, has staff in it still and is that why it hurts so much still? I pulled my medial ligament by the knee replacement recently and have been feeling "sick" like I felt three years ago when the sepsis set in and almost died.
Avatar n tn Aqua therapy without pain. But sometimes running in pool would cause pain in the patella. Strength exercises would cause some pain in patella. But not as bad as running. Running would always make it hurt. In that inner/middle part of patella. On Dec 1 ( 5 1/2 months post surgery) He Started doing more intense strength training on his legs to improve the quad muscles. His quads are getting much stronger. His right leg is almost the size of his left.
Avatar m tn The bump is on the outside and almost below the knee. There is absolutely no pain, or discomfort, and I can run and walk fine with no limp. The bump is almost like a bone or a ligament, is hard in texture and does not give way when felt. Although now that I am aware of the bump, I can almost feel it?! Also since I noticed it, it has not changed. Here are some picutres: http://imgur.com/a/r5uBd What do you think this could be? Thanks!
