Avatar n tn Aqua therapy without pain. But sometimes running in pool would cause pain in the patella. Strength exercises would cause some pain in patella. But not as bad as running. Running would always make it hurt. In that inner/middle part of patella. On Dec 1 ( 5 1/2 months post surgery) He Started doing more intense strength training on his legs to improve the quad muscles. His quads are getting much stronger. His right leg is almost the size of his left.
Avatar f tn carry a tennis ball with you. Any time that nerve flares sit directly on the tennis ball where the pain is for a minute or two. The pressure and pain will be temporarily relieved. Follow up with hamstring exercise and stretching. Hope that helps.
Panda Thank you for responding. Every Monday and Wednesday, I take "U-jam" and every Tuesday and Thursday, I take "Body Combat" Both classes are at 24 Hour Fitness. U-jam is a hip-hop class and Body Combat is a mixed martial arts class. They are group x classes and are great cardio that focus on HIIT (high intensity interval training). I used to take martial arts when I was in high school, so Body Combat and Turbo Kickboxing are right up my alley, next to any type of dance.
Avatar f tn I would suggest resting the knee till the pain and swelling settle. Ice-packs and NSAIDS may also be helpful for relief. After that I would advice seeing a physiotherapist for exercises that would strengthen you hamstrings. You may also consult with your doctor if you would be required to wear a knee brace. Hope this helps. Take care!
7892775 tn?1395673991 I bought a birthing ball today to help with my pelvic and hip pain. Oh and my back pain to. Does anyone know if they really help with relieving pain? I figure if they say I'm going to have this pain rest of my pregnancy then I'm going to try like Hell to ease as much of it as I can. I'm determined to do what I got to, to stay happy and positive even if this pregnancy is going to be torture.
Avatar f tn Have you tried an exercise ball? I know there's many exercises that you can do on those for legs and thighs. Or maybe a bicycle?
Avatar m tn Things got a little better, I got alot bored with the exercises, and finally just stopped. Now, my ankle pain is back - so is knee pain, and heaven help me when I 1st get up in the morning or after sitting in the recliner for any length of time - I can barely walk! I know I need to go back to the dr, but I don't want him to order physical therapy (costs to much and is not permanent). What are my other options? A brace/boot at night? some type of surgery?
Avatar f tn I do notice however that I get sever pain in my right leg and especially knee region when I exercise. My left leg is perfect. It can be extremely painful. Is this normal? Does anyone experience this? When I exercise and start having this pain, should I continue or stop?

1070610 tn?1279274410 Also I cannot relax knee down while slightly bent (spread legs apart with slightly bent knee) It also causes strain on the knee area and feels like its pulling the knee cap. With the last relapse the quad muscle (left side only) started tightening around the top and inside of the knee and slowly worked up the leg to the top and groin. I am waiting to see a physio about it but just wondering if this is spasticity or some other problem.
Avatar f tn But now, as of a few weeks ago, a different knee pain has occurred. The other pain behind the knee was gone (I had all of the symptoms of an ACL tear, but an MRI said nothing was wrong other than the previous damage from the MVA). Now the knee pain is so bad that I can barely walk, and have to walk keeping my leg straight, because it hurts so bad to lift it. And five days ago, now if I sit for too long, I can't straighten my leg again.
Avatar n tn Do you have access to a gym? Or is this for at home exercises without any equipment?
Avatar f tn can anyone suggest some simple daily exercises without a workout ball that I could do to help relieve some of these aches and pains?!

1292438 tn?1276120904 Because the resistance is placed near your ankles, which leads to high amounts of torque being applied to your knee joint every time you lower the weight. What’s more, Auburn University scientists found that people who squat long-term have tighter, stronger knee ligaments than those who don’t squat at all. The alternatives: Free weight squats, split squats, and lunges—performed with perfect form—are all better choices for working your quads and protecting your knees.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have been having pain mainly in my left knee above and to the left of my left knee cap. I have had X-Rays and a MRI to see if any problems can be found. The doctors said they have found nothing wrong. I went a physical therapist around April of last year during spring track. He said I didn't have enough thigh strength. I do the exercises daily he instructed and they seem to not work anymore. Right now I am running winter track.

Avatar m tn and was given a few strecthes and leg strengthening exercises to help with my knee problems. Well, after a solid two weeks of performing these exercises, my knee feels strong and well. But whenever i have to stretch and put my left knee into my buttox the entire knee feels an incredible amount of pain. Also, whenever I try and sit on my ankles, I am in HUGE amounts of pain just in the left knee.
Avatar f tn You wouldn't think it, but you really use your arms ALOT! Maybe try walking weights, like 3-5lb ones. My arms felt like jello after both babies because your pulling your legs back. Definately try yoga stretches for your pelvic area too.
