Avatar n tn Since then there has been very little back pain, just a bit of tightness but none of the constant dull pain. Perhaps my knee had thrown my back out. The knee joint was uncomfortable but nothing like the pack pain and I didn't relate the two. thanks again for your input, Dr Kaul.
Avatar m tn My doctor told me that the bone has healed well, as long as a second ortho, who said the same thing. Why such excruiating pain??? Firstly I have a vice-like pain after walking short distances, it is painful to the point that I come close to vomiting. Yet I have healed well? Secondly when I breathe hard or cough I have a sharp pain that lasts seconds but makes me wince everytime it happens daily or more. It shoots up from my ankle to about my knee.
Avatar m tn So, I had the classic sx of nausea vomiting post meals RUQ pain, shoulder pain/scapula pain that started March of 09, after a numerous amount of test and 1-2 episode of pancreatitis I was suggested to have my Gallbladder remove. Which was done Sep 09. I continued with my symptoms despite the cholectomy. I was sent to a specialist that performed a an ERCP and manometry and stated that my pressures were high. My muscle was extremly tight so he cut it and placed a temporary stent in my pancrease.
Avatar f tn I had my right knee TKR in June 2010, I cannot recall what the pain was pre-op, but I do know that it is very bad and has been since surgery. I have fairly good function with the knee and am able to do the work I love (I would be very depressed to lose that) but work is the whole of my life as it HURTS during the work day and it takes the rest of my day to 'recover' somewhat. I have pain in the night quite often and pain upon waking.
Avatar m tn Dec 10th and just had my right knee manipulated Monday Feb 1 the Knee / Leg feels great much improvement. I have one problem pain/pain (left side of right knee) when I put pressure / weight on the Knee enough pain that I have to use my walker.I was walking before the manipulation. Using CPM machine with no major pain. I have not called my surgeon yet. Do not want to whin.
Avatar f tn I hate to read you are suffering. A knee replacement is suppose to improve your function and it does not sound like that has been your experience. Have you talked to your doctor about your symptoms? Has he/she given you any feedback? I have not had a knee replaced but hope someone here who has will write to you. You might also post in the orthopedics forum as I know they talk about joint replacements there as well.
Avatar f tn Hi JB, Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. I am glad that you have found us but very sorry to hear about your knee pain. In my personal opinion it is always best to get a second opinion when you have questions or are unsure what direction to go. It just can't hurt. Maybe he/she will have another option for you and a new set of eyes, experience and thoughts cannot be detrimental. "Bad knees" and TKR strongly run in my family. Each memeber has had a bit different experience.
Avatar m tn I've recently started skateboarding again its been about 4 months and I usually skate at most twice a week. Lately I've been feeling pain on the outside of my right knee after about an hour of skating. I've realized I usually land on my right leg if I'm jumping off a trick that I know I'm not going to land and this happens repeatedly. My right leg is my front leg when skating so when I land on it I'm also stopping my forward movement.
Avatar n tn first it started with severe knee pain, both knees ( i have a meniscus tear in the right) i took tramodol and that seemed to help but then a few days later i got my period, took more tramodol , period felt weird like it wasn't coming out properly. had nausea, no diarrhea, but the same day in the enveing i vomited twice, second time was projectile ( sunday). i felt better after i vomited. restless nights sleep felt better on monday.
19681337 tn?1531695242 I do not believe I have EDS, so hopefully that will help my recovery. I am nervous about potential vomiting right after surgery though...
Avatar n tn When I bend the knee beyond 90 degrees I have a sharp pain on the lateral side of the knee cap. I have tried to be positive, but I don't see things getting better. It is very frustrating since I too thought things would be better than when I went in for the partials. It is like I have a tourniquet wrapped around my leg just below my knee. I ice every night and even heat pack for relief. I have tried five different PT's with not one knowing finding the answer.
Avatar f tn It felt as if the joint pain was moving, started in right elbow with a deep sharp pain and next was in left knee then left ankle tendon. Both calves hurt as if by vigorous exercise and were tender to the touch. By the weekend of March 10th it was in right ankle and shin bone-then right knee. Joints and muscles remain weakened and mildly achy even after the sharp pain subsides.
Avatar f tn My left was done in Janurary 2007 and my right knee was done in July 2007. Since the surgery I have had severe pain espically on the outside of the right knee. I have pain in both knees and limited movement in both. The pain has not gotten any better with time. I did have an injection of steroids about 6 months ago that helped some but things have not gotten any better since. Has anyone else had this sort of problem?
Avatar m tn I felt no discomfort then, but each day afterward for about a week I felt first pain on the lateral side of the knee, then the pain moved to the medial side of the knee, now the only discomfort is on the posterior portion of the knee in the soft tissue with my leg straight as I walk. It was bad enough last week that I was limping, (almost ready for a cane) but it was intermittent. What happened to my knee and what should I do to heal it and for how long?
Avatar m tn Three days ago I was going for a run and accidentally took a rough fall onto the pavement, scraping both of my knees pretty badly. There were several small/medium cuts on both, and one knee had a sizeable piece of skin dangling off (the white piece of skin in the attached photo). I went home and wiped them down and applied neosporin and bandages. The next day when I woke up there was a large amount of gooey greyish stuff that looked like pus on one knee.
655727 tn?1283296048 It does not restore the same level of function that the person had before the damage to the knee joint began. The knee will not bend as far as it did before you developed knee problems, but the surgery will allow you to stand and walk for longer periods without pain. After surgery, you may be allowed to resume activities such as golfing, riding a bike, swimming, walking for exercise, dancing etc.
Avatar m tn I just had my second syncvisc gel injection and I still have quite a bit of pain. My knees seem stiffer than before and I am experiencing pain in the bend of my knee. I have one more injection to take and I am hoping that I will begin to feel a difference in pain.I did have bruising on both knees and fluid was draw off of my right knee before the second injection could be given.
Avatar m tn Hi! About 9 days ago I got a MCL (medial ligament) sprain on my left knee, doing sports, i'm in my mid 30s. Minor swelling and some pain to knee. The knee started feeling around 80% better about 3 days ago. I wore knee brace every day even to sleep, 2 days ago I changed to a more comfortable brace with those metal hinges on sides, also slept with it. My current issue/question, is 2 days ago I woke up with a swollen ankle and pain when putting leg down to walk.
