Avatar n tn Hi..this is my 3rd week after ORIF for a tibial plateau fracture..my doc wants me to move the knee..i am able to get to 40 degrees but not more..it feels so tight along with pain...is it arthrifibrosis or muscle spasm...what is the solution for this...can physical therapy alone solve the issue...am using a knee brace... unlocked... I did 60 deg today...I am supposed to be NWb for 3 months...can any one explain why i feel this tightining and pain when i get to 50-60 deg and i cant go anymore???
Avatar m tn Hi, I have pain in the tibia of my left leg, which I think is below the knee cap. The pain started when I was 18, after I got an injury during a basketball game. Now I'm 20 and I still feel the pain only when I engage in physical activity. What's wrong with me. Could these by osgood schlatters disease?
Avatar f tn I had surgery a tibial plateau fracture Feb.18,2010 (9 hrs sfter a car accident. In hospital 1 week, rehabilation hospital 3 weeks, then weight bearing as tolerated in May. Mzay 18th I returned to work on walker, then a cane, and know just a limp and constant pain on the opposite side of the leg where I had surgery.,esoecially behind the knee.Usually mornings are awfuful its hard to straighten out leg. There is a soft knot behind the knee and the leg feels like a clock thats wound to tight.
Avatar m tn I limped on it for 2 weeks before my MRI was approved, which showed a medial tibial plateau stress fracture. The crack is longways in the bone and on the inside of the bone. My orthopedic surgeon said I need to be non-weight bearing for 6 weeks - then start with only 25 pounds of pressure for the following 2 weeks! Is that normal treatment? Is there no other way??
Avatar n tn I had a high impact fracture of Tibial Plateau which caused the subsequent surgeries and TKR. Am thin, healthy 47 year old. Can't stand for long time period or sit for long time period. Forget running or even a quick brisk walk. I limp still and question whether the long term results are worth all the pain and suffering to have the TKR. Very happy for those who it worked. i would love to not live with this daily pain. Don't give up getting answers.
Avatar f tn Bones of the left knee do appear somewhat under mineralized relative to the right knee. Areas of sclerosis within the lateral tibial plateau and lateral femoral condyle are demonstrated, as well as within the distal femoral metaphysis. One or all of these sclerotic foci may represent sequelae of avascular necrosis given reported history. No significant joint space narrowing is identified. No suprapatellar joint effusion. IMPRESSION: 1. No acute osseous abnormality. 2.
Avatar f tn I was told everything looks good, no arthritis. Shortly after the surgery I experienced sevre pain and was unable to put any weight on my that leg. I returned to the Doctor had another x-ray and was told I had a tibia stress fracture and the cartilage had thinned severly in 6 weeks and I would need a knee replacement.
Avatar n tn Hello, About 6 months ago I started to do some running and after the first month or so started getting pain above my knee, so I stopped. Since then the pain hasn't gone away and I'm getting desperate now as nothing seems to work. The pain is at its worst when going down stairs, steep hills, or when I put weight on it such as in a lunge or squat. It's had periods of getting better then when I think I'm going to be pain free it always gets worse.
Avatar f tn Mildly thinned peripherally. No lateral joint line osteophytosis. Medial meniscus: Grossly intact. Medial femoral condyle cartilage: Mildly thinned. Medial tibial plateau cartilage: Minimally thinned. No medial joint line osteophytosis. Patellar cartilage: Moderately to severely thinned along the median ridge on images 11 and 12 series 5. Trochlear notch cartilage: Partially denuded and moderately thinned centrally and medially. Minimal patellofemoral joint line osteophytosis.
Avatar n tn I had knee surgery five weeks ago to repair a tibial plateau fracture, and I am having nearly identical symptoms. I started doing PT one week after surgery, and I have excellent range of motion, but I am still under a no weight bearing order. I have strived to stay active, but I have no energy and even small tasks are incredibly taxing. I am a very fit, active 23 year old female, and this is becoming worrisome.
Avatar m tn There is no significant increase in joint fluid. The quadriceps tendon and patellar tendon are intact. The anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments are intact. The medal and lateral collateral ligament are intact. There continues to be signal in the femoral attachment of the medial collateral ligament consistent with previous injury. There is some degeneration involving the lateral meniscus but no discrete tear is identified. The medial meniscus is intact. The bone marrow signal is normal.
Avatar m tn The examination is preformed on the open .3 tesla magnet with sagittal, axial and coronal sequences obtained. Findings: There is no significant increase in joint fluid. The quadriceps tendon and patellar tendon are intact. The anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments are intact. The medal and lateral collateral ligament are intact. There continues to be signal in the femoral attachment of the medial collateral ligament consistent with previous injury.
Avatar m tn I have been having right knee pain and swelling for the past 6 weeks. I had an MRI which shows: 1) Posterior lateral tibial plateau grade 4 chondral fissures 2) Grade 3 chondral fissure at the lateral patellar facet 3) Mild patellar tendinosis 4) Borderline patella Alta configuration 5) Tibia tubercle-trochlear groove distance 1.9 cm 6) Trace superolateral Hoffa!s fat pad edema.
Avatar n tn I fell and 2 weeks ago with severe bruising and continued pain in my right knee cap and the front of right leg, almost a burning sensation
Avatar f tn Anterior Horn Diminutive, ACL Diminutive, Stable Chondral degeneration grade 1, grade 2 Medial Joint, Chondral thinning grade 2 and grade 3 posterior aspect Lateral Tibial Plateau, Patchy Bone Marrow Edema in Lateral Femoral Condyle, Small joint effusion with synovitis, joint effusion Patella, Chondral degeneration Patella, Trochlear Groove Cartilage Grade 2, some edematous medial and posterior capsules, tendinopathy.
665587 tn?1265946924 I have a snowmobile accident and received a depression fracture of the lateral tibial plateau. Had Open reduction, internal fixation with allograft bone graft. I now have to wear a knee immobilizer and no weight bearing for 6 weeks. What do you wear over the brace??? It's winter and I'm freezing sitting here in my underwear. Either nothing fits over it or it catches on the velcro..... Any help will be appreciated.
Avatar m tn Tiny toci of ill-defined marrow edema are seen in the medial and lateral femoral condyles and lateral tibial plateau. No discrete fracture is identified. A small joint effusion is present. IMPRESSION: Left patellar chondromalicia, including partial thickness cartilage fissuring with formation of cartilage flap at the junction between the patellar apex and medial facet.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately in May 2010 I slipped and fell near my swimming pool and sustained tibial plateau fracture of my left leg. 7 months on after having 7 weeks in a wheel chair with non-weight bearing, several months on crutches, I am now dependent on a walking stick but moving much better. I am having weekly physio sessions and have returned to my personal trainer for strength training.
Avatar f tn The MCL is intact. LATERAL COMPARTMENT: Allowing for motion artifact, there is fraying to the lateral meniscal posterior horn free edge, and the posterior root is diminutive. Superficial chondral fibrillation is present at the posterior meniscal surface of the tibial plateau without subchondral remodeling. Intact lateral collateral ligament complex and structures of the posterolateral corner. INTERCONDYLAR NOTCH: The anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments are intact.
Avatar f tn adjacent smaller high-grade partial-thickness chronic less well-defined chondral defect alon gthe lateral tibial plateau without subchondral bone marrow edema; approx 1 cm greatest dimension segment of ill-defined partial-thickness cartilage loss and fissuring along the inner lateral tibial plateau with mild low-level subchondral bone marrow edema; softening and perhaps a small deep fissure and/or delamination along an approx 0.
Avatar n tn My dog had two TPLO (tibial plateau leveling osteotomy) procedures for cruciate ligaments in his knees. Metal implants were screwed into the bones in his knees. A reaction to the metal in his right leg required the implant to be removed. The implant in his left knee was NOT removed.... and osteosarcoma formed at the site of the implant. Has anyone else experienced this terrible cancer from having this procedure? Amputation and thousands of dollars later could not save his life....
