knee operation problems

I was in a motor cycle crash a year and a half ago and due to other problems that have been resolved they can now fix my knee. After a MRI they have found that I have only MCL in my left knee in tact and need to have a operation to fix this. I have found many people with ACL tears on you tube but can't find info on the problems I have in my knee.

i have recently had a knee operation to fix the cartilage. on investigating they found that my femor and knee cap was in a bad way and worn and in time i will need a knee cap replacement, however thankfully not at the present time. Iam a fit person who teaches amrtial arts. My problem is that it has been weeks since my operation but the knee is still badly swollen and sore and i am still struggling to straighten it and bend it behonf 40 degrees..

Yes, we shown to the another doctor as per him, the infection cannot be remove through the medicines and need a re operation with antibiotic cement filings, to remove the PUS and to keep it for another 4 to 6 months and in stage II go for the re fix of the knee or can go for the fusion.

ve ulnar Nerve palsy and wasting of hand muscle and doctor says I will need operation to fix it. It is painful news and says even operation will not result full recovery - ... Doctor says many reasons causing it. I believe it must be due to diabetes condition causing nerve damage and finally palsy.... I've been reading websites to see possible non-surgery alternatives. Perhaps, I'm dreaming...... Thanks .

Hello, I have had 3 arthroscopies on my left knee to repair my lateral horn meniscus in September 2009, January 2014 and March 2015. Each time after the operation and recovery my knee begins to feel good and strong again. After 1 and a half year since my last operation my knee has felt great, however 5 days ago I squatted down (asian squat toilet), and instantly knew I had torn the cartilage again. Since this moment my left knee has a constant ache/throb.

This is because of damage to the knee and missing cartilage. What is your thoughts as to someone my age having knee replacement surgery. Also, what is the quickest recovery you have seen for someone with knee replacement surgery?

My mom was operated of right parietal meningioma on December 14 2009. She has problems with: -getting dressed and personal heygen -orientation (she cant tell left from right) -short term memory (sometimes she things an event that happened today, happened 2 weeks ago) -math problems -lethargy -iritability -no phisical problems Her mengioma was 5 cm.Also there is some blod left after the operation but I've been told it doesnt press on the brain.

I think this is to get the knee and the muscles as strong as possible before the operation, as it is really weak and there is a lot of muscle wasting due to 4 weeks of not moving it I guess. The physio was baffled as to why I wasn't given any exercises sooner.

i have 7 knee operation on my left knee, acl repaired and both cartlidges removed , cannot stand more than a couple of hours at a time. cant straighten it and cannot bend it more than 45 degrees is a knee replacement in my near future.

Surgical repair for torn meniscus of L' Knee. 3 months post-op it buckled, caused tear during fall to R' Knee and meniscus was surgically repaired but has also failed, although the surgeon refuses to order an MRI to "prove" this latest injury. Pain is an issue as I am allergic to all pain meds ordered to date and take nothing for the pain levels of 9-10. Before injury both knees were healthy, minimal arthritic changes on MRI's in spite of age 58 and obesity.

I have had extreme knee pain (to the point where I can now barely walk as it is), and I don't know what the problem is. 25 years ago i had a right retinacular release of the right knee. The knee is causing pain on movement; I use movelat gel; now the pain is severe at times. The knee clicks when walking.

I have been suffering from knee problems for years, i was very overweight and after x-rays was told it was severe deterioration and had no cartilage left but was too young to operate (36). Fast forward to a couple years later, i lost all the weight (150lbs) but knees are still painful in anything i do (if i go for a small walk, i’ll be ok but then my knees are so stiff i can’t go up the stairs when i get home).

Wrap the knee with ace bandage or black knee support until u can get to the doc. does your knee crack? Take ibuprofen as directed for swelling. Hope you can get to the ER or doc soon.
